I have a rare optioned Ranger 5 speed manual XLT ext cab Flairside in a rare Autumn orange color that was only available in the Splash trim.But color was in a optioned weird package on a fully loaded XLT (which I have) thats not a Splash trim but on XLT with Flairside bed with ford bedliner and fiberglass lid cover. Has 16 inch chrome inserted wheels It also had optional factory bucket seat package. All 4 doors open too.
Only option this truck did not come with was 4 BY 4 which I didnt want anyway .
It sits in my garage in mint condition and just turned 100k miles on 4,0. I found it 4 years ago with 80k original miles from 2nd owner who had it a short time and had no idea what she had. I bought it for 4500 bucks off craigslist from her.
Body and finish is perfect as is paint no dents or scratches. I use it to to pull behind motorhome and put maybe 2000 miles a year on it. Otherwise it sits in a garage. I love this truck.
This was I guess you call a barn find. It needed some tLC mostly cleaning and detailed. The 1st owner really garaged this and then sold it to girl I bought it from that let it just get dirty. I added a good cat back stainless exhaust Flow Master. Only non stock item on truck gives it a nice minimal growl.

Why is there a switch to turn the passenger airbag off

templarnot4 I think just so you don’t waste money on an airbag if someone isn’t even going to get protected by it because they’re not in there

In case you have your kid in the front instead of the jump seat

In 1998 it was perfectly legal to have a infant car seat in the front seat, If you had a rear facing car-seat for a child, in the event of a collision the airbag would launch your child out the rear window of your truck. So you shut the front passenger airbag off to avoid replacing your rear window.
