Please give me some tips for B2 visa category for tourism only. How can I start my answer. Why do I choose the USA for tourism and where I am going in the USA for tourism . Guys I had booked a hotel in Los angeles. My plan is only 10 days . I had already visited the UK , Switzerland, France, Turkey, Dubai, Russia, Kazakhstan Malaysia Thailand. I am a govt. Hey! Yes we did manage to get interview for the same date just 30 mins apart!
Every interview is different and decides the result but I would say just tell them that your spouse is also applying for the visa today.. that’s what we did! Good luck 🤞

For people who are traveling alone without anyone waiting outside to carry your belongings - one can carry their cash and keep it in the ziplock pouch inside the file
* other than electonic keys- normal keys are allowed if its kept transparent for scanning. I kept my file in a open paper bag and its allowed inside too. *PHONES STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED * Just fyi :) Great job 👏

Thank you! I can send you the invitation letter & our cover letter format. Let me know your email id. For Financial statements we simply got our bank account statement pdf printed from a Xerox shop. That should work!

It’s not mandatory. They didn’t check our.

Glad you found it helpful! No.. mobile phone or any device is not allowed at the centre (even if switched off)
Mobile is allowed in the switched-off mode for biometrics. But for the interview not allowed. If you are opting of Chennai, then there is no locker

Hey thanks! I guess you can as long as you give a valid reason behind it and convince them why you’ll come back after those 3 months.. main thing is they shouldn’t think that you’ll continue to stay there and don’t have a reason to return to India

all interview questions depends case to case , if you are self employed always carry ur business proof either they will reject it .
Ofcourse it depends on case to case like every other interview! My husband is self employed and had carried his business proof but they didn’t ask for it! But ofcourse always better to carry proofs just in case they ask😊

I noticed in your greeting and while answering the Officer's questions, you did not use any honorifics like in this case "Sir". Are the officers little more casual that way or did you use those titles and just not mention in the video. Would like to know if we need to find a balance or if we need not worry about all of that.
I don’t remember saying Sir or using any other salutation. I don’t think you need to worry so much about it.
I have changed intended travel dates by filling new DS 160. Since I got the appointment of very later dates. But couldnt find the option to link it with my appointment on new CGI portal. Will they consider the new DS160 if I present the confirmation page at biometrics?

Do you think it is convenience answer for question of purpose of USA visit? Seems like consulate office may ask why you can not do all those things in online(virtual) now days??? Please advise.

You can just write hotels you plan to stay at. No bookings required for US visa

Not required! Ours was the same case. No need to fill another form!

So I would like to know about the cover letter, which I have already prepared, but would like to know, if they asked you to show it or if you showed them. As I learned that for a US visa, the cover letter is not mandatory.
They didn’t ask for any document apart from my passport, DS-160 confirmation page & appointment letter.
Cover letter is not mandatory. Just advisable to carry incase the need arises!

But we were religiously checking daily for an earlier slot and got slots for 11th May interview in April end! Constant checking is the key to getting an early slot I guess!

Wanted to know if there are any grooming compulsions or suggestions (jewellary hair beard) As i did had them in the past for my intern and work permits.
We wore casual T-shirt and jeans. For biometric as your picture will be clicked they’ll ask you to tie your hair and look neat. Otherwise for interview wear comfortable clothes and should be fine.

Not at all! What matters is you should be truthful in your application & you have a valid reason of traveling to the US and then returning to India.
Question- if husband and wife applying for b1/b2 visa together so there will be one confirmation page and 2 DS-160 correct? They can go together for Visa interview. Please advise.
Yes right DS 160 has to be separate.
When you arrive in US, does Border Control or Immigration Officer ask for your complete Itinerary at the immigration counter or simply Return Air tickets and hotel reservations would suffice?
Not at all! Only asked my purpose of visit and that’s it. Infact I didn’t see them asking anybody for any kind of documents!

Mam, While choosing Visa class I chose Tourism/Business(B1/B2) where as My purpose of visit is for tourism . I overlooked that there exist B2 which is for Tourism/ Medical Treatment. Will it be a problem during interview. Please reply
You should mention it when asked during interview. Shouldn’t be a big deal as they anyway mostly issue B1/B2 visa to all.

I don’t think there is a limit to the number of updates. But maybe you can avoid doing it for small changes?
Good tips. My visa application was denied under 214b (told them I am planning to meet my friends). Only asked 3 questions. Very short interview. Any idea if I should wait to reapply and try to get other VISAs first? The officer did not even tell me the reason.
Yeah I have heard that the visa officers are instructed not to reveal the reason behind rejection.
Having a travel history definitely helps. We were also asked about it. So if you are reapplying after some time makes sense to get a visa like Schengen maybe?

No. No photos needed. The picture clicked during biometric will be used on your visa.

Yes they are audible but you can always ask them to repeat if you aren’t clear. I did that couple of times.

It’s good to have a travel history. It shows that other countries approved your visa and you also came back to India after your trips.

Hey! The only way is to keep tracking regularly… there are some paid telegrams group you can join that post msgs when slots open up but you have to be very quick in booking the slot as they get filled very quickly. Alternatively you can also pay a hefty amount to visa agent who’ll do this for you but they charge like Rupees 20k+ as far as I know.

There is no strict dress code. Just wear whatever you are comfortable in and what doesn’t make others uncomfortable 😅

You don’t need a translator. They have translators at the interview centre and you can pick the language in which you want to give your interview
Hi Ma'am, I had one more question - My first ever passport was issue in 2022, but had a typo in my home address. So I applied for a re-issue in 2023. My old passport was stamped cancelled, and it had no travel history on it - completely blank passport.
While filling the ds-160 form, I thought i knew where the old passport was kept. But when I searched for it I wasn't able to find it. I've already submitted by ds-160. I've answered NO to the question - "Have you ever lost a passport or had one stolen", which I think is still valid since I've lost a cancelled old passport and not an active one.
I wanted to ask how important it is to carry old passports for the interview? Does the visa officer explicitly asks for it? If he/she does then how should I answer them in this case?
They do ask you to carry all passports. But I guess you can carry a letter explaining the issue with your cancelled passport if at all it comes up. Best to not mention about it unless asked.

I gave the interview on 8th nov and got the visa approved (b1/b2). The status on ceac website changed next day on 9th as issued. I haven't received the passport yet. Any idea how to track it ?
Delivery address is Bangalore and interview was in Chennai.
They deliver it pretty quickly. Could be because of festive season there is a delay.

@@spsinghbhati that’s an estimate. Some people get the appointment for next year. Some get it for the next month or next few days. As slots keep opening up you have to check regularly

A small thing. I got my VISA approved but the premium delivery address is an old address and I am not there anymore. Do we get an SMS or Call from Blue dart people on delivery day?

While telling them you don’t own a property maybe try telling them that you stay with your family as you need to take care of them? That’ll show that you have strong ties with the country as you have loved ones here.

Hi thanks so much for the detailed video. This is very reassuring. I rescheduled my interview date so I only have the confirmation letter of the first interview date (nov 2024) and not rescheduled dates (nov 2023). I did not get a new confirmation email for the new appointment, Is this okay? I am planning to carry my appointment confirmation page from the scheduling website.
As long as you have some confirmation page showing revised date it should be fine.

Hi Ma'am, I gave my interview today, so they kept my passport and Tooke my finger scan. Does this mean my visa is approved? And if its rejected do they take Finger sacn in that case also??
If they have kept your passport that means your visa is approved!
