*MY VISA STORY*
So I have been living in South Africa for 1 year now, but I came to India to renew my Study VISA, and I applied for it on 18th July 2023, I also had my return ticket on 22nd August (As mostly it used to take 15-20 days for Study VISA in Mumbai).
July passed, August passed, September passed. No sign of any VISA.
I've tried everything, Letter, E-mail, Phone Calls, tried contacting every agent on the planet seeking help if they know anyone in the consulate. Zero help!
I ended up losing my career, have been paying rent for my house and car for no reason for so long.
Let alone the flight tickets.
My whole career has been jeopardized.
And, right now I'm just sitting in India, trapped, suffocated waking up every morning in a hope to go back to SA. I feel like Jaadu from Koi Mil Gaya.
And now I've been seeking a psychiatrist's help.
SA embassy has done this to me. And that's my story.

No you don’t need to submit any medical form for short term tourist visa.
I didn’t give any preference. You can select multiple entry on the application form but it’s upto them to decide.

Also, did you submit noc and bank statements for both applicants or just for the principal applicant?
Hey! They do need the NOC where it’s mentioned that you’ll be on approved leave and joining work after your trip.
You need to submit separate documents for both applicants.

- what address proof will work if one is residing on a city that’s different from the permanent address mentioned in passport? You mentioned that your husband got an affidavit stamped. How to go about that?

1. No Transit Visa not required
2. For his affidavit we showed his aadhar card but they said PAN Card or driving license would also work. Or gas or electricity bill

Hey! The start date of visa is the day the visa was issued and not the day you applied. Our visa was valid for 90 days from that date.

It should say ‘on or before’ date which is the date by which you should exit SA

Hi. We have applied for south africa visa through our travel Agent in april, our travel date is om 20th May. Upon tracking our visa application, we are gettimg the response as - Application has been received at the “The Consulate General of the Republic of South Africa, Mumbai.

Anyone applied at vfs mumbai recently? I applied for tourist visa on april 8th and was told, i will get in 5-10 working days but not yet received. Now VFS is saying it would be between 15-20 days. I have a flight to catch on 8 may 2024 so its cutting very close if they take all 20 business days.

@@Trippylens_ I think your idea worked. I dropped email yesterday and I received SMS today evening that decision is made on my visa application and it will be delivered by Bluedart. I don't know if email helped or it happened on it's own. I even submitted letter to expedite at the VFS today afternoon. Thanks for making this video. It helped me.

Sure your email id? You don’t need yellow fever vaccine for visiting South Africa. And for other African countries need to take it before your trip. Not required during visa process.

Absolutely right! I'm facing the same problem with the Mumbai office I rescheduled the flight ticket and just Sent an email to them that my travel date is on 8 Feb :(

Dude I applied on 15 Jan I already rescheduled my travel and still there is no update from the Mumbai South Africa embassy I did everything I sent them an expedite letter and bunch of emails to the consulate still no update they provide please if anyone applying for a visa sent to Delhi embassy bcoz Mumbai one is the worst I lose all my travel money and my living reservation in South Africa

It was very smooth as Johannesburg airport. They only took our passport and asked us purpose of our visit. We said tourism and that’s it. No further questions and no additional documents asked!

I called the embassy office number available on the Mumbai consulate website and spoke to the lady who picked up. And sent a mail to Mumbai.dha@dirco.gov.za

If layover is above 12 hours in Ethiopia, then only vaccine certificate is required if travelling to SA.

@@Bharathkingz Yeah. Depends on case to case basis. Some get it in a week while for others taking more than a month.
We got our visa a week before our trip and didn’t know whether we would get it on time. So for us as well the wait time was not great.

Just want to know from people who have applied via VFS - have u all received your passport with visa stamped only 1 week before departure, irrespective of when u have applied?
When and where did you apply the visa from ? I had also applied from VFS New Delhi on 10.10.2023 and no update as of yet. Travel date is 18.11.2023. Have sent an email today with a request to expedite the issuance.

why didn't you go for e-visa?
E-visa portal doesn’t work properly most of the time & that also takes more than 20 days.
This walk-in process normally takes one week but because of some issues in their system recently they are taking more time.
@@Trippylens_ ok thanks. but can we apply 3 months before date of travel, It wont be any issue right? Like visa validity will start from the date of arrival in South Africa I presume? I am travelling in December. I have the time for e-visa.
@@ritaban23 They gave me a visa valid for 3 months starting from the day it was issued. And I could stay for 30 days from my date of entry.

E-visa portal wasn’t working properly and was stuck for months for many people
Many people have applied e visa, but didn’t get any update after one month. Even I have also applied, I think e visa portal is not working properly.. So you should visit VFS Global.
