  • Comparison of brushed and brushless motors I use when modifying some toy grade RCs to perform better.
    Comparing how fast they sound.
Some people commented how they were surprised how fast some of my modified RCs go with a brushed motor. I’m surprised as well so I thought I would compare some brushed & brushless motors I use.
It was interesting to see the results.

Great vid man, I always wanted to know which brushless motor I had to use to replace a 370 brushed and now I know. Thank you very much!

Just a tip for your brushed motors and trust me on this. I Always do a water break in on any brushed motor that I get, youtube has plenty ty of videos explaining this proxedure. Also, if you notice the array of ceramic capacitors on the back of your Latrax I would duplicate that on the other brushed motors and you will be surprised at the gain. Those capacitors help to smooth out ant fluctuations with the current supply and greatly reduce any type of noise as can be experienced with motors giving off "noise" to other electrical appliances and what not

Thanks for the comment. When I first got in the Rc hobby I watched a video about the water break in of brushed motors. I actually did that with my first hobby grade rc. Thanks for the reminder since I’m not good about doing that lately. I thought I heard something about those capacitors helping as well so thanks for the more detailed information.

The REAL difference between 370 and 2430/2435 is that 370 runs at 5-10amp MAX and 2430/2435 starts at 10 amps and goes as high as 25 amps (for 8200kv). Brushed will run longer on the same battery. But 2430/2435 will get you x2 more acceleration. The best 370 option is Latrax, second best is Tamiya. All 2430/2435 are equally great, get any kind available in stock.

What's The Amperage Range Going From 180 Motor To A 370 Motor? I've Got A New 20A ESC For My Mofo RC Torque Beast X 180 Motor. Now That I Got More ESC Power I Was Wondering If Maybe The ESC Could Handle A 370 Motor? Is The Overall General Speed And Torque Better With A 370 Compared To A 180 Or Is It Mainly Just Torque? Any Input Would Be Great! Thanks.

370 eats up 5 amps on average. Any 20A ECS will be just fine. Some 2430/2435 high KV can go up to 25 amps so minimum 25A ESC is advised.

@@n00b247 I Ran The Latrax 370 R Motor On The 20A ESC I Had. It's Insanely Fast. The ESC Seems To Do Ok With It However That 370 Motor Gets Wicked Hot.

Hi just Subbed just wanted to ask I bought my boy a rc car 1/18 colt with 370 motor but want to upgrade which would be better if only to change motor thanks

      @2005silver  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’m not too familiar with the colt rc, but the LaTrax motor is pretty good. Typically they cost about $12 so not too expensive. Might be an easy upgrade.

The Latrax motor sounds the best and seems to really come alive on 9.6 vdc.
The others sound like they lack lubricant.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I sometimes forget those brushed motors need a little oil from time to time. However, all the motors were new out of the box. Maybe I’ll oil and retest.

    • @2005silver

Not sure. I haven’t really tried to fit one. I mostly use in my newer type Rc modifications. I’ll have to investigate.

@2005silver So I have been looking for the tamiya king cab and they are hard to find. I will continue to look for one but in the mean time im making a custom ming cab out of a tyco bandit. Im almost done and wanted to go overboard and put a brushless system in it and this is what brings me to you. If you can check if they are the same size or even close please let me know. I appreciate you responding to me. Thanks!!!

@@bigwhop136 I watched a video on TH-cam showing a brushless modification to a bandit. It looks like he used a 2435 size motor, so a 2430 would probably work as well, it’s just not as long. Same diameter (24mm) just shorter by 5mm (30 vs 35mm)
Here’s the link to that video: th-cam.com/video/rsX7LfzpKRY/w-d-xo.html
      Hope that helps.
