    Hey ram just wanted to say I had the pickup of the year 70% full bottle of Bally masculin for $20 bucks the perfume gods have blessed me!!!! what a fragrance I don’t know if it’s the bottle playing tricks on me of the brand being being Swiss but I see white almost like a white leather fougere it’s so beautifully made I’m in love also picked up 4 bottles of deep vintage Lapidus pour homme 85% on the front and I get a one of the best Jasmin notes from them smells like a niche floral the frickin value for money in vintage scents cannot be beat thanks again for everything u do patiently waiting on your 1988 ranking as it’s one of my favorite years of perfumery ever 🎉 until then I’ll be sitting in a bubble of 80s bliss 😊

      I get a leather accord too in the opening... one of the best leather fougeres but so hard to find
      Congrats on the lapidus Pour Homme too... that fragrance in vintage form is a banger... 1988 video coming soon brother... probably friday evening 🙂

    Another great vid Ramsey. I love the concept of a week or month dedicated to a brand. Amouage month would be awesome! Speaking of Amouage, I just received Opus IX. My nose is quite different than yours. I find the white flowers in the opening very loud and bright, but after an hour the florals fade, and after 3+ hours it's quite mellow. To me it leans more feminine in the opening, then unisex. I really like it, however I do wish it stayed louder, longer. Thanks again for the vid!

      Maybe there are differences in the bottles but my bottle of Opus IX and the samples I tried lasted over 24 hours! It is one of the loudest and most resilient frags in my collection... maybe with some air in the bottle it will open up 🤌🤌🤌

    Don't think I'll ever let my Zhen go... love it ! and re: Bortnikoff vs Areej...I just think Bortnikoff is a little more 'commercial' generic imo and likely higher profit margins.... whereas Russain Adam's passion comes through his offerings in every detail, bespoke bottle designs and presentation, authenticity in his inspirations and perfume conception, ingredient sourcing, hands on distillation and blending, oozes quality where you don't feel maximizing profit has been a factor in the final product.

    I also get the unmistakable chocolatey finish, preceded by almond-like nuttiness and booziness. I recently got a tiny decant of Oud Zen and I think that whole gourmand-like accord I mentioned is not so apparent from the Oud Zhen, which is much more smoke heavy; so much so that the smoke masks some complex nuances of the oud used in it. If you are reading this and have Oud Zhen like me, I suggest never seeking out Oud Zen because while Oud Zhen is a fantastic fragrance, once you smell the original, you will start craving it more and more over Oud Zhen. Here's hoping that one day you and I can both get our hands on a full bottle of Oud Zen Ramsey!

    I think you should review and post what you want and the people will watch or they won’t. I am a fan of Areej, so I’ll watch them. It’s all subjective. Just review and post what feels right to you and everything else will sort itself out.

      I pretty much feel the same... but i like bringing in feedback from the folks who watch 🙏

      Thank you Ajay ... Oud Zhen is a damn good perfume and I would be happy with either... but there is something to be said about having the first one isnt there 🤔
      But rejoice and be glad you have the Oud Zhen Version.... now that you have some precious Russian Oud... do you see how Oud Zen could be a prototype for Russian Oud ?

    • @infinite8586
      @infinite8586 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RamseytheRam My thoughts exactly when I smelled Russian oud for the first time. It resembles oud zhen very much with Myrrh in the base. Oud zhen was definitely more smokey & much more oudy! Russian oud had that very balanced bitter & sweet combo from cacao.

    I have nothing against Areej and not too long ago I would have been able to have actually purchased one. However, I can no longer do that due to my present financial status and if I bought a bottle, I would have to fast for over a month.

      Just a little tip, I rarely use 'new money' for fragrances and generate, purchasing funds by either picking up bottles undervalued and reselling them on selling sites and reinvesting the difference, or selling bottles in my collection I nolonger wear or interest me and you will be surprised the price vintage fragrances can command... even partial bottles if kept in good condition... also best to list items internationally as there can be big differences in price and availability country to country.

    After finding OE1, my hope To find more old ALD is revived, I have the second version of Oud Zen, for me is a upscale version of those smoke resinous fragrances with a huge amount of burning woods(basically the perfect oud bahkoor fragrance), People who enjoy Interlude have to give this DNA a chance.
