So Amazing to see you dive in to them. Thank you. Santal Midy is an amazing discovery. In the year 1906 the Mysore Sandalwood oil was capsuled and sold as medicine in untited states to be taken orally. Some from time to time can be found on eBay but mostly empty bottles. So I purchased a full bottle of these capsules and decanted those in these glass tiny vials. It is one of the most Authentic and the oldest vintage example of pure Mysore Sandalwood. Sandalwood oil is relaxing indeed. Some reported that doctors actually point out that sandalwood oil slows down the heartbeat making us feel calm and relaxed. I know a woman who experience this heavily only when smelling high quality old sandalwood oils and it almost became an indication of quality for her.

At the end I must do it to fully understand the ingredients before using any of the in a formula. Such a blessing! Glad you liked one of my latest wild sinking grade Sri Lankan and Phillipines oud dust distillation. You nailed it when you said it smells like orris. Indeed. I will need to experiment with it blending it with orris and iris leaf absolute! That types of agarwood is very unique and often reported to have floral orrisy wibes. Guess what? It is because its very complex and rich structure based on gcms lab reports I done. Some oud oils may have naturally accured elements in them that also present in orris or tabaco or vanilla or other natural materials. Thats why we get this different wibes in oud and it basically can smell like anything from ocean breeze and orris to fecal fermented funky aroma that can be a result of pre distillation fermentation of oud dust in water. This is actually how I distilled that patchouli to smell like oud. By fermenting it prior distillation. Same is done with oud often. How different are all those patchouli oils are, right? This all really shows us that distillation is a true perfumery art. Where one can take a single plant patchouli for instance and distill it in a number of different ways using different techniques to yield extremely different smelling oils according to perfumer / distiller plans, desires and targets. Actually this is how I as a distiller after practicing and realizing all this slowly became a perfumer ! :)

Also ... Well said on the Jasmine sambac tincture. Sometimes all ya can do is draw from memories the scent triggers. Often it nails the description to convey the idea ✌🏻
Excellent, this was actually quite moving to watch. I can only imagine how you must be feeling and processing what has just occurred. Interesting what you say on some of the Ouds, from my experience of Ouds in Arabic and some Asian countries has been initially repulsed then highly intrigued. As with real Oud there is such a depth that you experience multiple stages, there's no need here for what western adaptations add rose or whatever to what they claim to be Oud, hence I've never been convinced by some of the major/popular brands. From what you have now you have the tools to fully understand where you want to explore. I held off commenting until watching this in full, but I knew near the beginning what I wanted to say, then you brought it up.... On an earlier comment I mentioned a video that kind of rubbed me up the wrong way. Well that individual was quite condescending to another on the Livestream and asked if they had ever smelled the real thing and they should get their nose on the raw ingredient. Well, I bet they are pretty miffed at you right now, you've not just got hold of some raw ingredients, those are high quality ingredients and then some. Take it in Ramsey and enjoy it, to send a gift like that there's trust and a mutual respect. Really pleased for you. Cheers!
Thank you Simon... I couldnt help myself 😂😂😂 So glad you enjoyed this ... I would love it if Russian Adam & I could do a live stream where he could talk about these ingridients with me... I downloaded the stream yard app and me and Rich Mitch did a test run where we ended up talking for over an hour... maybe I will even upload that video although we werent going in with the intention of uploading it... but you guys might enjoy two frag heads talking ... long story short.. streamyard is ready for a Russian Adam interview if he is willing 🙏

This is for sure going to be a reference video for me for a long, long time, thank you! 🙏 I can envision in future videos you referencing & pulling out these samples during reviews, excellent for our understanding! You are in the florals now… welcome to the women’s side of perfumery! You’ll find the words as you experience more classic floral scents. 😂😀❤️ Emel can probably describe Jasmine Sambac perfectly 🤣 For me, one must experience living Jasmine Sambac in the evening air in Asia. The scent is light and innocent yet still heavy with potential, like first love. Plush not thick, from green and sheer diaphanous to deep/honeyed/indolic. Jasmine is a life-love. So much to say about it. Tuberose is sultry, knowing, ardent, & accomplished sex. Think creamier ylang with orange blossom & more depth. Sorry about the birds & bees metaphors…. but we are talking flowers… Emel needs to chime in!
