I remember watching X-men cartoon when I was a kid Wolverine was always my favorite when I got pregnant in 2014 and found out we were having a boy my husband and I favorite X-men is Wolverine when we were figuring out names we both decided on Logan. I’m so excited about the new series

I can't wait to see Rogue reunite with her newfound brother Nightcrawler. Sunspot is joining the team as well. I heard talk of them exploring Storm's sub-leader role which I am so excited for! And I am of course looking forward to Magneto. He legitimately thinks he is doing the right thing and has proven he can be a good person. Years of horrible suffering made him this way and want to prevent what he went through from happening again. In the comics he actually does take over as leader when Xavier goes to space with Lilandra, but has to make tough decisions when he sees echos of his past in the new anti-mutant movements and laws. He joins the Hellfire Club to keep the Xmen protected and forbids the New Mutants from going out and using their powers because he does not want these children to go through what he went through. He ends up giving up on Professor X's dream.
I've been saying since the 90s that the Jean that returned after the Dark Phoenix was really Madelyne Pryor, Jean's clone. Just like in the comics. Now that she's gonna have a baby I'm sure of it.
What do I want from X-MEN '97? More Nightcrawler and Colossus! And I don't mean a few cameo appearances, either. Those two were prominent members of the team, and they still should be!
One of the annoying things about the original show was that the team never changed And that’s one of the great things about X-Men Evolution as that team changed so much as the show went on and students attended the institute where in X-Men TAS there’s no students it’s just Jubilee and a bunch of adults living at the school I would love to see a version of Kitty Pryde introduced it probably won’t happen
Colossus was always my favorite. I didn't understand what his power was supposed to be, but I played him in the arcade game for years. I never understood why he was excluded from the movies/shows.
Cyclops unknowingly met his brother Havok in the original series, without realizing he did. In the Iceman episode, the X-Men met up with the team X-Factor, and they had a little skirmish. Couple this with Corsair, their father and leader of the Starjammers, and we have a family reunion. Nightcrawler discovered his birth mother was Mystique, and that she gave him up dumping him in a river due to his outward appearance of being a mutant. He prayed that he has the strength to forgive her, and in a last ditch effort, she saved his life. I want to see more of this. Psylocke was introduced and tried to steal from Archangel. She said she was doing this for her brother, but they never elaborated on this.
One thing I am curious about is how Juggernaut will deal with Xavier’s “death” His life goal was to destroy Xavier himself, but with him gone, where does Cain Marko go from here?
I can see Juggernaut want to destroy everything that Xavier hold dear, if he couldn’t take the life of his brother. For some examples, juggernaut could want to either destory his brothers dream of mutant & humanity living in peace from ever happening. Or Juggernaut could want the destruction of the X-men for them being Xavier’s legacy he left behind.
I would like to see a follow-up to Rogue's estrangement from her father. After the way that horrible punk treated his only daughter, I think he's overdue for some comeupppance.

I didn't even know about this new show and just happened to binge the original show last summer. You should do it. If you don't have Disney+ it's on Internet Archives.
Even with the mistakes, I really do think the original animation style was great. Not as good as BTAS or SMTAS, but it still had so much distinct character. I realize that it's just not feasible anymore to hand draw things, but man does it look marvelous.
i was 5 years old when i used to watch it here in India, I loved how Storm and Magento teamed up in the 2nd episode, Reminded me of the A.X.E. (Judgement Day) event where they fought against Thanos's Uncle. Storm, Gambit and Jubilee, I predict are gonna have a huge role in this era

The Uncanny Xmen intro music was the best! I hope they will make justice with the new one. I also want to see Xmen interactions with other mutant teams, not necessarily the Avengers.

I wanna se Colossus, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Iceman and Angel on the team. They could adapt the Gold x Blue team storyline. Maybe a introduction of Illyana and a hint of New Mutants for season 2. Also more Emma Frost. I would like to see her forming the Massachussets Academy and The Hellions. Maybe even having Kitty Pryde as her student inicially.
I want them to bring in more X-Men, like the ones they had, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Dazzler, Banshee, Archangel, Iceman, they were all on the show. I know they can't all be there all the time, but rotate them in and out, Justice League Unlimited style.
Nightcrawler discovered who his birth mother was and that she abandoned him. I’m sure they can develop this. Colossus made several appearances in the cartoon, as a rival to Omega Red. Dazzler appeared during the Dark Phoenix saga, that the Inner Circle were attempting to abduct, and she showed an interest toward Cyclops. Banshee is Moira McTaggert’s interest on Muir Island. Archangel started off as Angel until he subjected himself to Apocalypse’s experiment to remove his mutant powers, until Rogue absorbed the mind control out of him, and then shown again when Psylocke was trying to steal from him. Iceman was introduced as one of the original X-Men but who left, and in this same episode, we were introduced to another team called the X-Factor. It’s less about being a revolving door of X-Men (since they aren’t official members yet) and more about advancing each of their plots to possibly somehow make themselves part of the team, I’d say.
@@Puggalug Yes, all that, is basically what I meant. I just figured, Archangel, Colossus and some others should live at the mansion, be part of the roster. And Cyclops and Havok need to learn they are brothers, boy that missed plot pissed me off.
What I'm curious about is how will Magneto lead the team? He wanted human obliteration and mutant rule on earth and Xavier wanted coexistence. And in one preview, Cyclops asked Jean what if Xavier's dream was a lie after it was found out that he left the X-Academy to Magneto in the will. Be interesting to see if the X-Men continue to fight for Xavier's dream or follow Magneto's.
The X-men of this series appeared on a 2-part episode of the Spiderman Animated Series and Captain America was featured in a flashback episode working with Wolverine. Maybe other Marvel superheroes will appear on this new series.
The last you see of apocalypse is when Fabian Cortez kidnaps jubilee to put his consciousness in her but she escapes and apocalypse transfers his consciousness into Cortez instead

I'm hoping that we get villains who appeared in the comics after the series ended. One of my favorites is Onslaught, a Villain who has aspects of both Charles Xavier and Magneto.
Yes they did. I believe he took the vessel of Cortez, the mutant who seemed to be “recharging” Magneto but actually betrayed him by taking away what he recharged him with and nearly killed him.
Everyone seems to forget that Apocalypse returned in season 5 episode 5 titled “The Fifth Horseman” where he posses Fabian Cortez body. “Beyond Good and Evil” was not good last appearance.

They gave it to a Korean Anime studio to remake this series. It's great to see the influence of anime on Western animation in these years, (Spiderverse, Arcane, Puss in Boots, What if, etc.)

Legit seeing the trailer for the first time made me cry!! This is how iconic this series is to me and my childhood 😊

Now there are three possibilities that of the identity of gene and Scott’s child is either they will do cable or X-Men the alternate cable from a different timeline or they’ll do Rachel Summers or Hope Summer. now one of the characters that I hope gets introduced in X-Men 97 is X 23. It would also be nice too see more of philock.
So excited for this show. But really feel that Iceman should have a spot on the team over Morph. For him to be a founding member of the group, I feel he didnt get enough screentime in the '90s version.
Apocalypse did come back in The 5th Horseman, where he possessed the body of his follower Fabian Cortez. I know that was in the batch of subpar episodes at the end of the run, but it should be canon.
Right? I thought for a second I was going crazy. Haha. I don't like that episode and kinda wish he stayed dead but it did happen.

Was going to mention that Myself. It's kinda bad WatchMojo is making money off these videos, but they didn't bother to binge watch the Original series in preparation on the launch of X-MEN '97. I did. even watched though all of X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men......
I wanna se Colossus, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Iceman and Angel on the team. They could adapt the Gold x Blue team storyline. Maybe a introduction of Illyana and a hint of New Mutants for season 2. Also more Emma Frost. I would like to see her forming the Massachussets Academy and The Hellions. Maybe even having Kitty Pryde as her student inicially.
I really hope they drop the X-Triangle.

I want them to bring in more X-Men, like the ones they had, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Dazzler, Banshee, Archangel, Iceman, they were all on the show. I know they can't all be there all the time, but rotate them in and out, Justice League Unlimited style.
Nightcrawler discovered who his birth mother was and that she abandoned him. I’m sure they can develop this.
Colossus made several appearances in the cartoon, as a rival to Omega Red. Dazzler appeared during the Dark Phoenix saga, that the Inner Circle were attempting to abduct, and she showed an interest toward Cyclops. Banshee is Moira McTaggert’s interest on Muir Island. Archangel started off as Angel until he subjected himself to Apocalypse’s experiment to remove his mutant powers, until Rogue absorbed the mind control out of him, and then shown again when Psylocke was trying to steal from him. Iceman was introduced as one of the original X-Men but who left, and in this same episode, we were introduced to another team called the X-Factor.
It’s less about being a revolving door of X-Men (since they aren’t official members yet) and more about advancing each of their plots to possibly somehow make themselves part of the team, I’d say.
@@Puggalug Yes, all that, is basically what I meant. I just figured, Archangel, Colossus and some others should live at the mansion, be part of the roster. And Cyclops and Havok need to learn they are brothers, boy that missed plot pissed me off.
What I'm curious about is how will Magneto lead the team? He wanted human obliteration and mutant rule on earth and Xavier wanted coexistence. And in one preview, Cyclops asked Jean what if Xavier's dream was a lie after it was found out that he left the X-Academy to Magneto in the will. Be interesting to see if the X-Men continue to fight for Xavier's dream or follow Magneto's.
Apparently if they go by the comics, Scott and Jean don't just have one child, they have SEVEN!
The X-men of this series appeared on a 2-part episode of the Spiderman Animated Series and Captain America was featured in a flashback episode working with Wolverine. Maybe other Marvel superheroes will appear on this new series.
Little correction, Apocalypse does have an episode in season 5 of the original tas.

The last you see of apocalypse is when Fabian Cortez kidnaps jubilee to put his consciousness in her but she escapes and apocalypse transfers his consciousness into Cortez instead

I have an awful lot of fond memories from watching the 90's X-Men series. I hope that the continuation series does a great job of adding to it's legacy. Please Disney don't ruin my fond memories.

I'm hoping that we get villains who appeared in the comics after the series ended. One of my favorites is Onslaught, a Villain who has aspects of both Charles Xavier and Magneto.

Yes they did. I believe he took the vessel of Cortez, the mutant who seemed to be “recharging” Magneto but actually betrayed him by taking away what he recharged him with and nearly killed him.

They gave it to a Korean Anime studio to remake this series. It's great to see the influence of anime on Western animation in these years, (Spiderverse, Arcane, Puss in Boots, What if, etc.)
