Good point … I haven’t ref’d for 30 years but I feel like I’m ready to draw the box. haha Curious if anyone knows, what is the highest level these referees have worked?
@@offpassive I've looked into some of them. I think a lot of them have done USL-1 or some college soccer. With the USL season starting I imagine that will start to change though.
My god!! This is terrible (first clip), proves you can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink! The VAR tried to help him, but even he couldn’t save him! Time to give in to The proper official’s demands! They are good refs but they are way over matched at this level. It is not a shot at these officials (I couldn’t do it either) it is more saying how good the real refs are!
The unfortunate thing about this is that fans will just say “oh the regular refs had to use VAR too, therefore the replacements are just as good”, not taking into account the frequency and type of VAR reviews being needed for the replacements.
No way Ojeda's should have been a red or second yellow. He's jumping in to stop, HE gets kicked in the shin meaning both his feet were on the ground when the contact was made. That ref was just wanting to show he's got what it takes to stick to his guns, which is a crappy attitude.
@@MrCho14 FWIW, since most fans don't have a clue what the difference is between FIFA, National, Regional and Grassroots designations much less what the PSRA is, I took the OP's "REAL" to mean the latter. As a long-time and well-respected real grassroots referee, I'm not insulted at all that anyone would choose any PSRA ref over me to officiate at that level.
@@johnmcgimpsey1825 I was being a little sarcastic, but the point certainly applies. These are 100% real referees. The implication I think the OP made is that these somehow aren't and are amateurs or random people they found in the parking lot.

Solid job done by the refs so far. Turns out more than the normal bunch of clowns who are locked out can do this job competently! Keep up the good work
The first two weeks this season, with replacement referees, had 22 VAR reviews as opposed to 2 for the first two weeks last season with PSRA officials. These referees have objectively been worse.
Pay the refs.
Pay the referees
We need pro refs for pro soccer
Interesting var had to tell the refs twice to draw the box.
PRO REFS FOR PRO SOCCER
If you’ve never worked with VAR before, it’s not a thing you think about.

The announcer/director’s own voice sounded like well… it wasn’t wrooong. To me it sounded like he wanted add a “but” in there
Pay the professional referees.

Just pay the real refs

bring back the REAL refs
That's insulting to all referees down to grassroots. They're all REAL refs. They just have a different level of training and experience.

Can you review the Houston Dynamo at Sporting KC match?
Screw your scabs!
Pay the referees
great content!
Its crazy how we allow these critical mistake to happen; VAR is a great resource but these are simple calls that are being missed as in Example #2
Referee's view was blocked..

What league have you been watching?
Went won't you broadcast the refs' mics? For transparency, this needs to done like the XFL does
Y’all want more money but still are terrible. Get better and then come back
