The technician changed the canister and solenoid for my Avalon 2000. But after few days driving, p0440 came back on again. For sure I will check the fuse box tomorrow morning. I hope it will be the case. Again, thanks for your video.
Thanks for the detailed video man - I’ve been searching how to fix these codes for my 02 4Runner, it makes sense to test the solenoid and fuses. I will figure this out!
Update: was able to fix my car, clear the codes, and not get them again once I tried running the codes a second time- found a hose with a slash in it next to the evap solenoid that just needed to be cut and re-hooked up 🙏🏽
P0440 alone can be a variety of issues which makes it very hard to diagnose without a smoke machine. Also vehicles vary. For example Chrysler is a lot different to diagnose vs Toyota because their systems have different layouts/design.
The canister/vsv does not have any shielding under toyotas. my guess is maybe water got in the connector and bridge the pins causing a short. but those connectors are supposed to have a little waterproof gasket in them
I have EVAP codes on my 2000 Toyota Camry I smell gas from inside the car after I fill up the gas or sometimes while driving.. Please assist. Been having EVAP codes for 5-6 years. Already changed a few parts.
At the end of the video you tested the purge solenoid I have a New one but I cannot locate where it is. Would you please tell me where to find it. I looked and looked but none of my solenoid look like that. Does the canister have more than one solenoid on it?
michael morgan Yes with the ignition on the position on with the engine off. The engine doesn’t have to be warm-up all you doing is checking for voltage leaving the switch on the on position that’s all you need.
Tengo codigo p0446 ya le canbie el charcoal canisters ya que tiene todos los sensores pero me vueve la luz con el codigo p0446 cual cres qie sea el problem tengo un Toyota corolla 2001

It's never easy making these videos. Appreciate all the hard work, never thought it could be a blown fuse.

Excellent , good info Rey.
Whatever blew fuse will likely do it again ?
Beautifully explained. Thank you so much.
I checked my system. That little green cap for EVAP control system test port was loose as heck. Tightened down. No engine light. Whew.
I guess the green cap isn't its fuel line

good video, hope the fuse is my problem also
A fuse blows for a reason. Very rare for a fuse to be "bad" itself but if it fixed the problem long term then I guess it was a bad fuse.

Good video. Very helpful.

The solenoid tested in video is physically connected to the canister bracket itself.
I have a 2000 Camry. I cant find the Evap fuse. Any ideas?
He tested all the fuse.
Thank you. Very good trouble shooting. What was the fuse tester that you were using that beeps?
Its called a Power Probe
Can I bring you my car to you
When you tested for voltage was the car warmed up and the ignition on? Thanks

Lo que dice el que chequees el fusible EFI NO 2 con 7.5a. En otro video dicen que tambien inspecciones la tapa de gas.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i think mine is a 10amp.
