      Is it just me or is the awesomeness of the tower hobbies catalogues and rc mags and the shops from the 90s just not the same as today. I loved the blizzard always wanted one and the Baja beetle. Maybe just because they are memories that everything rc just seemed so much more epic back in the 90s

      Have had Blizzards off and on since my first Nitro back in the day. Got an FR from AMAIN a year and a half ago, and now have two Trail Kings as well. Same basic chassis, but the Character the Trail King body lends is just a FUN Can of Worms that I just can't close 😜!!! Made a bed-box Extension of Craft Wood and now drive around the yard and my neighborhood looking for all manner of things. Went to City Park yesterday and climbing hills I can't even crawl up on my hands and knees.
      So what if people think I'm NUTS.. maybe They should get some fresh air themselves, and try their hand at having FUN!!! ... they might even learn to laugh at all the mischief they get themselves into 🤣!
      I know I sure do!!!
      Isn't that what the Trail King is all about?!?

    I bought one of these and I liked everything about it except the performance. I ended up buying an old 1999 EV model and built it to look like a 2020 Trail King. Of course it has a Castle brushless system! No more complaints now, it’s perfect! 👌

    I gotta say, I love this channel. I love your website, your information, and your reviews. On that note, I'd like to throw in my two cents about tank tracks and the vehicles that use them. As an RC fan, I started with the speedy cars. Monster trucks, short course trucks, big stupid rc trucks... Then I bought my first rc tank a bit ago, and the whole game changed. Tank tracks are tedious, and work, but once you get them dialed in, they are nearly bullet proof. They eat terrain, obstacles, other rc vehicles, it's quite simply put, my favorite rc now.
    Metal tracks are pretty mandatory. This and then Eachine makes the mini ripsaw-look-alike, and that has metal tracks now too, but either way, rc tank tracks are almost mandatory metal. Plastic is fine, it will work, and it's a good backup, but go metal, you wont regret it.
    Thanks for this video, and your others as well. This is why I buy from you all. Keep up the stellar work.

    Thanks, AMAIN for helping me have fun again, still driving the Blizzard FR you helped me get a while back... now have two Trail Kings to boot and I feel like a kid again... only this time I don't have to drive Tonka Trucks on my knees and catch grief for the grass stains!!!

      Yeah... I am polluting TH-cam and I am killing Electrons...and I am a Terrible Videographer, too🙄... I rack up about 10-20 hours a week driving them, and just want to try to help the new Blizzard and Trail King Owners get the most out of them. Last thing I want to see is someone get discouraged and turn away from an R/C Vehicle with so much Potential... Thanks for noticing, Robert Reese! Hope you All are doing okay out there with the Covid and the Fires...it must not be a lot of fun trying to stay ahead of all that!

    I'm in two minds about this one. On the one hand it is an interesting tracked vehicle that can be used in more scenarios than a Blizzard but on the other hand it seems a bit of a mix of fairly cheap-looking engineering with an expensive price tag. I guess this machine will have its fans and it really doesn't have many competitors. It would have worked better as a Morooka style utility vehicle in my opinion.

Would be cool to see it already come with the metal pinion gear spending a bit more would be fine with me if it means i don't have to tear into after a month.

    Got the metal tracks for the Blizzard and it's basically undriveable with them. Those tiny motors just don't have the power. I replace the radio with a DX6i and put a pair of brushelss Reedy micro systems in it. Now it's fast, but still a paint since the ESC's have reverse lockout. :P

      I’m confused on the balancing and stuff like that

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Letting the battery cool before recharging is a good idea and healthy for the battery. And then doing a storage charge at the end of the day is great too; both good practices. Depending on your charger, it may allow you to do both, a balance charge and a non-balance charge (fast charge). When you balance charge, the charger will monitor each individual cell inside the LiPo, and charge them all to the same level as each other; this is cell balancing. If you don't balance charge, the charger looks at the voltage of the overall battery pack, not the cells individually. This will eventually lead to some cells being charged more than others (not balanced), and this is dangerous. Hope that explains what balancing is, and why it matters.

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would avoid the Maxx, but the other three options are great places to start out, and cost much less than the Maxx, leaving you more money for other tires, upgrades, accessories, etc. The Rally is pretty much the Slash 4X4 that has been fitted with different tires and wheels. Whichever you choose, going with a VXL model is highly recommend for the Brushless, better differential and better TQi Transmitter; it's worth it.

    for 300 dollars this thing looks really cheap and flimsy with ancient motors and internals. for that money they can do way better.

    Great review with a common mistake: “simplistic” is a *bad* thing, and ‘simple’ is a good thing. ‘Simplistic’ is an oversimplified understanding of something.

      Welcome to Japan where labor ain't cheap. LOL this is why Tamiya can sell their RC kits for less cuz it's made in the Philippines. Kyosho should do the same.

    $300 is wayyyy to expensive for something made this cheaply, this is cool but from what I can tell it’s 90% plastic and looks like a $50 Walmart toy
