I'm not at all surprised that the Arrma Mojave Grom is second. Mine survived a heavy bashing unscathed, a few head-on crashes under full throttle, and apart from a few scratches, it's perfectly fine. Arrma is still making a good name for itself.
Just imagine how bad a beat down it'd be if Horizon and tower didn't exist and Amain was the only big box store for the Horizon brands. I can't believe the UDR outsold anything though. It's a great truck but it's been out and unchanged for 34 years now.
The Mojave Grom is consistently the rc I first reach for. Love these trucks for their scale feel, clip-less bodies, and just fast enough out of the box.
I guess I don’t know how it’ll sell long term but I’m guessing the new Mini Maxx is going to sell like crazy! It’s just barely bigger than the 1/16 erevo and should be a lot more durable! $250 with a battery and charger is really going to help it too! My LHS said he’s already got almost 50 pre orders! It’s cool they made it with the 1/10 drivetrain too!
Crawlers don’t really interest me too much, but I wonder if it’s similar to why minis are so hot. Easy for people to just grab, go outside and drive or setup something in the basement. No need for lots of space.
100% the reason. People became accustomed to being inside from covid and many have not recovered from it both financially and physically. Id be very surprised if it keeps up for another 4 years.
It's not just that but it also gets you out of the house and into nature. Give you a reason to go on hikes. Plus they are super tough. My trx4 fell probably 60ft down a mountain catch all types of air and didn't break a single thing. Man that fall took foreeeever. Like solid 10 second of watching this thing bang and bouncing off lava rock.
I used to feel the same, but once you really get a good spot with a crawler it just sorta clicks. I would easily recommend the brushless redcat because that fusion esc motor combo is massive improvement from the brushed RTR systems
@@Backupplan94 try 2 speed by traxxas. It improves slow constant high torque crawl and increase top speed greatly. No need for high cost brushless. Got 2. Enjoy this truck . We can buy parts for this truck from our lhs.

Mojave Grom FTW straight up best backyard track ripper for the money. Steel up the drivetrain and brushless will deliver endless smiles. I bought 3 and want three more.
What's the ranking methodology here? Like most sold versus stocked or most sold overall? I have hard time believing VRD outsold most of the other cars on here.
@@cancelthefuture Seemed from the way he was speaking it's overall units of each RC sold. He mentioned more than once if they had more to sell, that particular RC would move up the list. So my guess is total units.
@@boduke9428It’s hard to find an UDR in hobby shops. They are shelf poison. So people turn to Amain for things that are hard to find in locally. All that vintage and niche things don’t sell much.
The methodology seems like the absolute number of units sold, but it seems odd to me how high some serious racing kits placed. It could also be the dollar value of the sales. In that case, the ”it would place higher if we had more in stock” would still apply. That would explain why expensive kits are so high on the list.
I’m surprised traxxas hasn’t made a 4x4 buggy, Arrma has the Typhon and it’s great. Maybe just like my suggestion of the mini Maxx four years ago they will make a buggy with four wheel drive. Actually Kev Talbot gave me the idea of a small scale Maxx😂
