Please explain something to me if you would, at about 8:33 into the 3rd the Oilers had a player that was pretty far across the blue line before the puck got across it and then they scored. What am i missing here has the rules changed? Thought if anything that a player had to wait or at least cross that blue line as the puck does?
"For determining offside, the position of the puck and players must be considered to be in the neutral or offensive zone. Usually, the puck enters or leaves the offensive zone when it completely crosses the blue line. A player is in the neutral zone if either skate is in the neutral zone or touches the imaginary plane extending upwards from the leading edge of the blue line; otherwise, he is in the offensive zone." So that was offside I think.
@@jon5104 I'm not looking that closely, but the rule is that the entirety of both "suspect player's skates" must be across the line before the puck. I'll let you rewatch and come to your own conclusion, but I'm thinking there aren't many people staying awake over the seventh of eight goals.

Probably the same outcome. Bob slightly above average goaltender. It’s his defense that saves him and the rebounds. He lets in a lot of soft or break away goals.

Wish we could’ve seen each other in the finals instead of the second round. Wouldn’t have minded if the Canucks won the cup, as long as we take it home to Canada.
They have been playing like this, only difference is they started shooting high mostly glove side and we all know that's Bobrovsky's weak spot. Oilers have outworked and Out chanced Panthers in 3 of 4 games. They just kept taking those grade A scoring chances and shooting low. You're not beating Bob low.
I think it's important to look at this realistically. Oilers can be happy that they did well tonight, but it was an off game for Panthers. The rest of the series will not be like this. However, this gives impetus for Oilers to play with a positive attitude.
Though there's the off-chance we're about to see a Markstrom style collapse against the Oilers offense. Edmonton's broken many goalies... Florida might want to get their 3rd string ready... just in case.
off? 8-1 isn't an off game, it's a disaster. this is the kind of game that is never forgotten even if the panthers still win the cup, the kind you look back on and say "we can't let that sht happen again" especially for Bobrovsky.
I truly believe that if Edmonton pulls off an upset and wins in sunrise on Tuesday- Florida will lose their grasp and Edmonton will force a game 7 and take lord stanley back to Canada.
You literally raise the puck off the ice. watch every single goal tonight, it's an elevated shot. The guy has unreal foot and legwork, but he gets beat high a lot.
The only thing the Panthers accomplished tonight was a complete and total shitting of the bed, the likes of which will never be seen again. The Oilers looked twice as fast on the ice, and played with total desperation tonight which they lacked the first two games of the series for sure and were starting to show in game 3. If I were the Panthers I would be worried, can’t let McDavid get hot this close to the finish line. I could see this being the 5th time in NHL history a reverse sweep happens. Oilers reminded everyone how talented they are.
Not true, the last time they lost 3 in a row they went on to win 5 straight. The only other time they dropped three straight this year they went on to win 8 in a row. We only need to win 4 in a row so this is very possible.
@@safejewel2072 Commentators did say that at some point this season after losing 3 in a row Edmonton did go on to win 16 straight to set a league record. Check it out. GO OILERS!!!

I have to admit I wasn't expecting this result. I think it may be too little too late but I'd love to be proven wrong. The unusual suspects really came through tonight.
If they had won the game 3-2, I’d too would think it was too little, too late. However, they won 8-1. If there was ever a sign that a team could mount a four-win comeback, this was it.
If the Oilers win the next game you can see the momentum will switch and Florida will crumble. If they loose on purpose I hope they get karma for this cockiness.
Panthers win 3 straight games being very close games then oilers with this 8-1 blow out is absolutely wow! It’s opened this right up for the possibility of a game seven finish
-It's been 82 years since a team came back from 3 down -There are 82 games in a regular season -To get to the games you need to drive -In order to drive you need a car -Cars run on OIL -THE OILERS WILL BREAK THE CURSE
You have to remember. . .Florida has a fantastic team but there is something of a heritage in Edmonton that Florida just doesn't have. . .think about the Oilers of the 80s with Gretsky, the Penguins with Mario Lemieux, or Montreal Habs during the dynasty year. Never underestimate the influence of having the best player in the world and supporting cast like Draisalt, Bouchard, etc. . . McDavid in a class of his own and coming into legendary status. . .If Edmonton somehow pulls off winning the cup, don't be surprised they continue winning the cup for the next upcoming years. . .
The timing and coordination of all those rush play goals is impressive. Rush play appears to be so much more effective against the panthers defence than fighting for the puck in their zone. And they cracked the Bobrovski code. Rush his defenders and make him move or stun him high blocker side. Now it’s chess game going into game 5 and the Oilers still have nothing to lose.
Thank you for not putting the final score in the thumbnail. It makes watching your upload so much fun to watch ( when one doesn't know the final score yet).

lmao.
Then the scoreboard will be reversed. Oilers can be the second team in history to do the impossible.
Today Skinner was better than Bobrovsky. Just need three more games like that. 😂
The Panthers win in 7 & not 5. No mention of BOB playing for the OIlers?
Probably the same outcome. Bob slightly above average goaltender. It’s his defense that saves him and the rebounds. He lets in a lot of soft or break away goals.
Maybe they should try to trade for Skinner before it is too late. 😂
everyone was on point tonight, they have to keep that momentum going
Fun fact:
In this game, Bobrovsky let in 5 goals.
Stolarz let in 3.
Now, Stolarz is shining with Toronto.
Stolarz is amazing, he just wasn't with the right team.
8-1 is insane in the cup final! what a game!
As I was saying all along! This series ain't over yet!!!
If anyone can complete the comeback it’s the Oilers
It’s over.
Florida will win game 5. End of story.
Never bet against Gretzky 2.0
Need 3 more big wins like this to pull off the impossible.
Thanks, 3+1 is out of my math skills repertoire ..
Thanks for the brilliant insight.
What a game
Bro this was an intense round both teams played great!😮
Man oh man…that first goal had me in stitches!! Montour pushing his own goalie out of net and Barkov throwing himself in the net looking like fresh caught sea food!! 🐟 🎣🤣
This series in actual fact could be quite different at this point. Oilers played well in game 1-dominated in fact. Except for Bob they would have won it. Almost forced overtime in game 3. Series could so easily be tied at this point. The human wall became the human sieve tonight. No one saw that coming. Oilers take it one game at a time now-I absolutely wouldn't f--- around any further if I was the Panthers
If Darnell Nurse and Stuart Skinner hadn’t both given up a goal in game 3, it would have been a 3-2 victory for the Oilers. We’d be looking at a tied 2-2 series with all the Momentum going to the Oilers.
@@safejewel2072facts man

Yeah the first game Oilers deserved to win that. And they could have won game 3 so in fact Oilers could have been up 3-1 in series. In theory. 😂
@@tarkantakil2067 He's just stating that it hasn't been the dominance by the Panthers that some have said. The Oil could legit at least be tied right now.

Wish we could’ve seen each other in the finals instead of the second round. Wouldn’t have minded if the Canucks won the cup, as long as we take it home to Canada.
Unbelievable! What a turnaround!
It takes an 0-3 deficit for the Oilers to play like this? Florida must have assumed it was already over prior to the start.
They played like this in game 1. Watch the full games, not just highlights 👍
Which is why they lost.
I don't care who wins, but I'm an Edmonton Oilers fan after this.
Translation: Hello, I'm a bandwagoner.
@@timmononen8492 Naw I just like the way they played
This is grit. When you're down 3 you fight like cornered lion to stay alive and they really delivered for fans. It's just one game but that's okay.
Me too....since 1979.
I think it's important to look at this realistically. Oilers can be happy that they did well tonight, but it was an off game for Panthers.
The rest of the series will not be like this. However, this gives impetus for Oilers to play with a positive attitude.
It was just nice to see Edmonton finally win when Florida "has an off game (like folks said about game 1)".
Though there's the off-chance we're about to see a Markstrom style collapse against the Oilers offense.
Edmonton's broken many goalies... Florida might want to get their 3rd string ready... just in case.
oilers had 3 ’’off’’ games
Yea. I am just so happy to see people at place rogers be so fired up.. they deserved it
off? 8-1 isn't an off game, it's a disaster. this is the kind of game that is never forgotten even if the panthers still win the cup, the kind you look back on and say "we can't let that sht happen again" especially for Bobrovsky.
When the Oilers fire on all cylinders, they are unstoppable.
Janmark has been this years clutchest depth guy, If its big time momentum shift you need, he can get it

Lol the Panthers aren't worried, take your homer glasses off. No chance the soilers are winning this
Just wow.
Well Edm just blew their whole load on this game. Well played Florida.
true
Connor Brown is one of the best penalty killers in the league.
Last time Oilers lost 3 in a row they came back to win 16 in a row if I was the panthers I would be worried
They aren't worried, they are the better team
Not true, the last time they lost 3 in a row they went on to win 5 straight. The only other time they dropped three straight this year they went on to win 8 in a row. We only need to win 4 in a row so this is very possible.
@@safejewel2072 Commentators did say that at some point this season after losing 3 in a row Edmonton did go on to win 16 straight to set a league record. Check it out. GO OILERS!!!

What a surprise for the Oilers to avoid the sweep with that huge score margin at the end! Also, Congrats to Connor McDavid for breaking Wayne Gretzky's playoff record! Oilers fans have gone wild now.

You only need to win by 1 goal, somehow the Oilers manage to get most of their finals goals in 1 game! weird!!
I have to admit I wasn't expecting this result. I think it may be too little too late but I'd love to be proven wrong. The unusual suspects really came through tonight.
Too little is not the word I would use to describe an 8-1 victory
If they had won the game 3-2, I’d too would think it was too little, too late. However, they won 8-1. If there was ever a sign that a team could mount a four-win comeback, this was it.
If the Oilers win the next game you can see the momentum will switch and Florida will crumble. If they loose on purpose I hope they get karma for this cockiness.

You have to remember. . .Florida has a fantastic team but there is something of a heritage in Edmonton that Florida just doesn't have. . .think about the Oilers of the 80s with Gretsky, the Penguins with Mario Lemieux, or Montreal Habs during the dynasty year. Never underestimate the influence of having the best player in the world and supporting cast like Draisalt, Bouchard, etc. . . McDavid in a class of his own and coming into legendary status. . .If Edmonton somehow pulls off winning the cup, don't be surprised they continue winning the cup for the next upcoming years. . .
I just realized how small I was thinking
They could be a dynasty
GG Oilers. Will be interesting to see how Florida responds
Sweet bit of redemption for the Oilers. Edmonton just takes it "win one game" from here on. Panthers would be wise to not screw around any further.
They respond by getting blown out the next 3 games in a row. Once Oilers catch fire they are unstoppable, we saw it all season long.
