    Really useful - if owners took a few minutes to watch and learn (people like me) then you've got a really good system on the AT with huge functionality

    If you already have for example a sena system used on another motorcycle it’s important that you carry out a factory reset to delete all information or the bike will ‘default’ to passenger connection and you will not be able to use Apple play

    • @Geordiebiketester

      I thought the phone would come with a normal size USB to phone for easy charging. Anyway it’s standard size USB that the bike has for plugging into.

    Sorry for the stupid question, but why does the iPhone have to be physically connected if Bluetooth has been activated? And while I’m asking, once connected, can you control the GPS using the headset?

    • @TheWalfare
      @TheWalfare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Carplay "mirror" the screen from you phone to the bike. I would image bluetooth bandwidth is way too low to accomplish wireless data transfer for the screen.

    • @UncleWally3
      @UncleWally3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheWalfare: Thanks, but yet my television and iPad/phone can be mirrored - wirelessly? But I guess what allows that the wifi, not Bluetooth?

    • @TheWalfare
      @TheWalfare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UncleWally3 By doing some quick googling I can see you can get wireless Applecar play, abeit the support is rare or you have to buy some aftermarket adapter/dongle for it.
      A quote from one article I found "Fortunately, a small but growing number of cars now support wireless CarPlay, which was first introduced in iOS 9, and uses a combination of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to keep your iPhone connected to your ride."
      Other article mentions that wireless receivers are costly so this might be choice from Honda to keep overall cost down. I know its pretty shitty you have to use cable everytime, but for long distance touring you would plug your phone in for charging anyway so its only inconvenience for short rides, commuting, etc..
      For my crf1100 I will prob route permanent cable to leave it on the bike.

    • @simulacrae

      @@UncleWally3 the simple answer is that while apple have a wireless option for CarPlay most manufacturers doesn’t support it yet.

      I think they want you to keep your hands off your phone while you’re riding. I think it’s a safety issue. Whether you like it or not.

    My apple car play refuses to work on my 2022 africa twin. I dont have an “original” cable. But its charging the phone. I cant imagine apple has a special extra “car play” wire in their charge cords as opposed to others. Honda do better. Chevy has wireless car play. I expected better from Honda. Very dissatisfied. Should have got a KTM
