    Badass progress Jonathan, definitely inspired me to actually focus to get this. Maybe by the end of 2017.....

      Tom Merrick at the peak of my practicing I would put in least 15 hours of work a week on this skill. so the biggest piece of advice I can give you is practice a ton. Also don't get frustrated, you find something that works and then the next day it doesn't work but you just got to keep going and you'll figure it out eventually. Post some more progress vids on your channel, I love your videos!

    Dam 1 hour every day? I know it's not an easy skill but in addition to regular training and just life that can be tough. Good progress I hope to OAHS one day.

    Very inspirational I'm where you're at in july august I can hold a one arm for 4 seconds and fall out and 3 seconds without falling on a good day. My goal is to hold one for 5 seconds without falling by April. I think this video helps me out because i find it easier when my arms are a little wider and i can come up onto that one finger

    Been practicing hard after seeing your handstand video . Huge motivation that . Sometimes frustration arises as the previous day you think you are getting the hang of this and then poof the next day it seems like all is lost .😂😂 . Still not giving up.

      +Ankit Tewari totally feel you man, you find something that you think will finally work and it does work for a few days then for some reason everything stops working... So frustrating. I'm still not there yet but will be eventually lol.

    Damn I'm so hyped up to learn it at some point, though I learned the handstand merely 1 month ago and my max holds are only 48 seconds on ground and 44 on parallettes. I guess I should just clean my ground handstand a bit until the summer and then start mainly focusing on the one arm handstand.

    Hey man, awesome video! Just a quick question… How did you stop your outside leg (the one that’s lower to the ground) from rotating as shown in the earlier months such as June? Having the same problem now!

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jesse, I found the rotating leg had nothing to do with my lower body but my overall stance. When I was positioning my torso over my hand and shoulder better, my leg stopped wanting to move. Focus on digging in with your fingers and engage your bicep while your arm is locked out

    How did you train because you got awesome results and how often did you train?

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jan Röder I made the most progress when I was training it an entire summer 60 to 90 minutes every single day. During the school years I would train it maybe three or four times a week for the same duration. This is definitely a skill where if you don't use it you lose it, unless you are already a one-arm handstand master lol

  • @VincentGBE
    @VincentGBE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey, great video! Did you only practice with your right arm?

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly - I've always practiced with my left however I've put much more mental energy into my right arm. When I started my left arm didn't have the mobility like my right arm did. Now it has the mobility but just a lot less focused work compared to my right arm. It has been getting better the past few months so hopefully I'll be able to do it soon haha
      Also, I stopped working on the one arm for about half a year after the time at the end of this video

    • @VincentGBE
      @VincentGBE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting - I was a bit shocked, when you talked about the amount of time you invested in this skill. I have trained it twice a week for the past year and started to feel very confident, but I obviously put the same amount of time in each arm. I never considered training only one arm, even though my right arm has progressed way better. It would save so much time, but I'm wondering if it's a good idea..

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was scared of my right arm being bigger than my left so I didn't completely ignore it haha. Train both!!! I wish I did it more. However you'll always have a dominant arm

    did you get muscle imbalance in your right arm and back by doing it? I am starting to get now. any tips?

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's imbalance in the mobility of my shoulders. My right is very flexible which is why I can get it into position for the one arm handstand. My left arm I can't get it in the correct position. I think absolute weight my strength is pretty even though, if I were to overhead press dumbbells

    • @Jonathanbodyweightstrength
      @Jonathanbodyweightstrength  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just make sure to have the same volume of work on both arms, even if one arm is better than the other
