The two caps on the 3.3v which was fine when testing for voltage. Then the emmc was reflowed and the Dat0 adapter removed. This might be when the solder balls on the emmc was bridged. Then the console was tried to be turned on and that might be when the short was created..
Thank you for sharing. I could feel the anguish when you were trying to fix it. You did your best. If the person has a back up of the emmc when he modded it, you can try again with a new emmc. If he did not get to the backup stage when he had done the mod then no go unfortunately.
It's worth a shot trying to clone the chip using ufi box assuming the chip could still be read. Also, the reader isn't cheap, so unless you're willing to invest in a device you're expecting to use more than just a few times you're probably better off buying a new PCB.

I am in the same situation...If you have an EMMC backup and a modchip can you replace the Nand? If you soldier a new EMMC would the switch be able to blood HEKATE from the modchip to restore the Nand backup?
There is still hope on this one! Even with a bad emmc that is not even readable with an emmc reader you can rebuild it with a new emmc.Although that is not perfect as it ll only play offline games (from cartridges) and/or homebrew with the modchip , it is still way better than a dead console!

Can you do a GA hwfly install?
At around 18:20 you check if there is short on the motherboard between VCC and Ground checking pins 2-3. Then you check pins 2-3 on the Emmc, but I think you made a mistake here. Pins on Emmc are mirrored to the board meaning you should check pins 2-3 counting from right, not counting from left.
Hey, I have a question. Do you know what the component and value is of the thing you solder to on point A? I managed to accidently desolder it and I lost it. Now I'm getting a purple screen of death.
Point A is 4.7K Ohm smd resistor size 0201 (metric).

If the balls stuck together three times when installing EMMC, why do you think that everything is fine this time? Just not between VCC and GND, but, for example, DAT0 DAT1?
Yes I think need be more try and be so carefully with soldering nand. Then check all voltages and shorts before plug in power.
You dislodged something below the chip you removed at 2:30 could that have affected anything?

Hello. Honestly I can't see any differences between them. It will work even with v3. Loading times depends on the nand memory brand rather than modchip version.
