    The last truly competitive note phone Samsung made before going down that Apple rabbit hole. This phone had absolutely no compromises. Sd card expansion, headphone jack, all of the accessories, etc. If this phone was still receiving updates it'd be my go to. Samsung must have realized this so they only introduced 7 years of support on their new phones.

    Still using my Note 9 as my main phone. I mostly love it. I've been getting into photography and video stuff and I really like the 4k @ 60 fps videos on the Note 9. I don't like the 5 minute limit. And they really should do a bug fix update on the camera app. If you record video and try to record another video it will crash so you must exit out clear cache and reopen the camera app to start your next video.
    I was concerned a while back because the repair centers didn't have any more Note 9 batteries and it didn't look like they would get any more...although some online sites probably still have them. Battery life was trash. What I did however was put almost every app into deep sleep mode and sleep mode. Bam, battery is like new again.
    When my Note 9 dies, if they don't make a very near identical replacement then there will be zero reason to stick with samsung. Given the R-Y-U-T-A prices, and how all the phones are so similar offering nothing I like, like headphone jacks, sd card slots, etc. Then I might as well be brand agnostic going forward.

      Exactly how I feel. What Samsung to replace my two eldest note9, my note10+, my wife’s S9, my other sons S9. There is literally nothing worth the price. I am looking at moto stylus 5g line. All downgrade chips though. So worthless right now in the industry.

    • @green9227
      @green9227 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Micro SD is slow and outdated. If you need local backup storage, get a USB c thumb drive it has way faster transfer speeds. The headphone jack is pretty much dead on most phones. You are holding on to outdated devices. Isn't going to change anything for these manufacturers. Time to upgrade your device is a security nightmare. Pretty much any modem device that isn't a budget phone will absolutely destroy the note 9 in the most important pillars of a smartphone. battery life, camera quality, processing power. Display quality with high refresh rate.

    What you're talking about should be what the FE series should become. Could you imagine if Samsung did this? It probably never is going to happen, but let's say this. Instead of S25 FE, they rebrand it just as the FE (2025 edition) and it's basically a repackaged and upgraded Note 9. Slightly bigger battery (4,300mAH) to keep it smaller. Give it newer cameras: drop the ultra wide for a 12MP or 50MP telephoto with optical 3x zoom and hybrid 5x zoom, and a main 12MP or 50MP or even bring back the 64MP. Put in a slightly older, but newer chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Something that prioritizes battery life. Keep the headphone jack, Iris scanner, and the rear physical fingerprint scanner. Keep the heart reader too. Keep the S-Pen with Bluetooth features. Could make the screen flat with a LTPO display and give the frame and back a matte texture while providing a variety of colors like the S20 FE lineup did. Samsung would make bank on that. It's easy money. This definitely won't happen but it would be cool if it did.

    Absolutely valid point also longer support will give phone more resell value. And ppl can in 4 5 years still get pixel 8 or 9 that’s still be supported for a while for ridiculous cheap and won’t feel outdated yet. That’s why iPhones sell for so much still even so they are old. Same. This phone is absolutely amazing and future proof. For that reason I got bigger storage as well and have everything I would want for it to have. The battery is just as great, constant updates, great camera, beautiful screen, S pen, Snapdragon. Now my phone supports UHQ (24bit / 96kHz) audio for my Buds 3 Pro. Everything works super fast and now I don't see any point in switching for many more years. Now phones don't really change much year by year compared to how it was a decade ago.

    I've been a note user since the Note 3. I was devastated when there was no Note 30 or whatever (2 year upgrade cycle). Because of that, I switched to the Fold3 (they probably did that on purpose). 6 months later, the S22 Ultra w/ S pen came out. I was, again, devastated because I was locked in for 3 years. I'm happy with my S24 Ultra. Just wish the S pen was on the right side.

    OnePlus doesn't exist in this country. But I completely agree with you about Motorola. I had a couple of phone from them and I switched to Samsung because Motorola doesn't support their devices for more than a year or so
    Phones may not be a luxury anymore. But they're still expensive tech and if my phone can stay at my side for many years then I will completely keep it
    I love my S23 Ultra, got it used the past year, I'm aware it has 4 years of Android updates and even more years of security ones. So I'll change the battery in a couple of years and continue to enjoy it

    Pre-owned Note 9 user only since late 2022 (previously Note 4 since late 2019). Must agree that in terms of form, design etc. it does feel more complete than many subsequent models, such as the 2020 Note 10 Lite which loses USB 3.1, stereo speakers, LED indicator and more, despite having retained 3.5mm phone hack and mSD storage expandability which most current "flagship" models lack. So unless Samsuck reshuffles senior management and revisits older smartphone designs, legacy compatibilities etc., no more flagship models for me and instead looking into mid-range ones......
    The other thing about Samsuck messing up the phone support scenario is that they should've let S9/S9+/Note9 officially update to OS11, instead of letting them stuck on OS10......

    In the last 2 years I spent 1500 on four second hand Note 9. I kept two for me, two I gave to my children. I managed to find 512gb storage 8GB ram. One that I use now is on Android 8.1. Everything is working perfectly. I have debloated a lot of the apps so it runs smoothly. The only thing I wish for is longer battery life. I plan to keep staying on Note 9 for another 5 years. I have ordered new spare batteries, charging ports and microphones if needed replacement. Samsung please give us a S26 Ultra with headphone Jack, iris-scanner, and sd card.

    The other good thing about 7 years is you can buy a phone that's three or 4 years old and still get a whole decent life out of it. You could buy like a pixel 8 2 years from now for a couple hundred bucks and it'll last you another 3 or 4 years easily. It keeps it out of landfills most importantly. or maybe you want to give the phone away to your kid or a friend a couple years after you have it. It's better than a landfill
