    Hyperthyroidism: too much thyroid hormone.
    Grave's disease: the body's antibodies attacks the thyroid tissue (antibodies are cells that usually attack bacteria and viruses that shouldn't be in the body). It's autoimmune. The attack on the thyroid can cause excess thyroid hormone. High thyroid hormone (T3 or T4) speed up the metabolism which causes weight loss, anxiety, sleeplessness, heat palpitations etc.

    I was able to put my Grave's disease in remission by:
    1) resting more
    2) eating broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower; millet.
    3) supplements: selenium; zinc; omega 3 from cod liver oil capsules; vitamin D with K.
    For me, it was also essential to:
    4) cut out cow's milk and dairy
    5) all gluten (flour)
    6) caffeine
    7) limit table salt
    I took neomercazol for a few weeks and atenalol (beta blocker) for a short time. I had no reaction.
    I am male and in my mid forties.

      thank you for this! does your remission include normal thyroid antibody numbers? how long did it take for those to lower for you after your other thyroid numbers normalized?

    • @republiccooper
      @republiccooper 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @sarahpaira my antibodies fell steadily over the course of taking zinc and selenium. That was about 7 out 8 years ago. However, at present, my antibody levels are sky high, but the hormone levels are euthytoid and I feel fine.

      I just found out I have e Grave's disease yesterday! I am rocked, I've been so sick since last year. My heart palpitating and anxiety high. I got hospitalized in January for a splenic infart. And it's been one thing after another. I didn't notice anything about my thyroid until it started swelling in February. I've been in nothing but pain and heart racing. I'm in so much shock I don't even know where to start. I am thankful for people sharing their stories. I've never known what this was up until yesterday. Please pray for me 🙏🏼

    First I love your channel and you are beautiful! In March I had all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I agree that this was brought on by stress!! My Doc said my numbers were normal. Then meat started smelling terrible to me. I trust God and I'm not a fan of doctors. I started my own research, cut meat from my diet, starting taking all the supplements you suggested ❤ and started drinking coriander water before breakfast. I was already a health advocate and ate pretty well and exercised. I starting feeling somewhat better but still felt off. Then the Lord made me look at the root of the problem ( I suggest doing this w/everything) and what organ controls the thyroid/ hormone function in the body. This is the hypothalamus. It controls all hormone function and since I am beyond child bearing age I realized my reproductive hormones were off and the symptoms were parallel to my hyperthyroid symptoms. More research made me realize we live in a estrogen dominate (estrogen is in everything) society and my body is getting minimal progesterone. So I started trying to balance my reproductive hormones naturally by taking the herb red clover, then moved to a cream that has red clover and progesterone in it. I no longer have any hyperthyroid symptoms and I feel better overall (I sleep wonderfully and no longer poop all the time). I'm not saying this will work for everybody, but I pattern my body to a car. When one thing breaks down in a car eventually it affects the performance of the car. So since the hypothalamus controls all hormone functions in the body why not look at the whole root cause. Regardless of age, most of us are getting to much estrogen in our bodies which can throw the balance of estrogen and progesterone off. This can apply to men also I would think. Please do your own research because we are all so very different, but mostly our body systems perform the same.

      Wowoowow!!!!!!! I met a now girlfriend here in Turkey and she talks to me quite a bit about hormones and how we get too much estrogen and not enough progesterone!!! Wow, God is speaking... for you to come here and write this! My eyes 👀😯 were HUGE the entire time that I was reading. Thank you!!
      I highly appreciate your testimony!! I couldn't eat meat often while living in the States and I was doing GREAT!! Now that we are living abroad I opened myself up to meat because it doesn't affect me like it did in the states ... But it probably does affect me but at a slower rate. Wow... Time to get back in my "minus the meat kick!!" When I am plant based, that is when I am at my best! Bless the Lord!! Hallelujah 🙌🏽🙏🏽✨

    I was in remission of Graves for 18 years. I had a stressful year in 2024 and then took antibiotics. It triggered Thyroid toxicosis and my Antibodies went crazy. I’m now weaning off methimazole and using herbs and diet and lifestyle to cure my TED. Tuning into someone doing the same is great. Thank you!

    • @janyanesteva
      @janyanesteva 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! Can you please share what helped you stay in remission for 18 years? This is a really long period! ❤

    • @lexieliza841
      @lexieliza841 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@janyanesteva yes! So around that time I was on methimazole 5mg. Gained weight on it. I was 19 and in college.
      My friend suggested we try the diet Skinny B*tch it’s a book about going vegan.
      From there I went vegan and occasionally ate butter and Clean white fish…
      I always exercised regularly so I can really attribute that but doing yoga weekly really helped and started doing that more.
      I stopped Methimazole bc I wasn’t feeling it which before made me go back to hyper but now, I was just normal. And lost weight but looked and felt healthy.
      My TED completely went away. And my numbers stayed normal.
      I will say after a year of being really strict vegan from this books perspective… I let myself live a little and tried to tune into what my body needed. Experimented over the years with different things.
      Eating mostly vegan/ Mediterranean,
      My go salad is something like arugula, or spinach or butter lettuce with tempeh…
      avocado and nutritional yeast.
      if I craved fish I made salmon, or got sushi.
      Shrimp…
      In 2013 I saw an Accupunturist Shaman lady.
      One herb that has been my go to is Holy Basil…
      I love the Sprouts brand if you have one near you or Himalayan brand capsules.
      Moving my body with hot yoga and Pilates style with little bursts of cardio became my active style over all.
      Spirituality, God, affirmations Law of attraction helped me too with overall healing but wasn’t something I really found until later on.
      Gosh it’s hard to really capture everything I did in a YT comment I wish we had a Facebook community to talk about Successful stories.
      I currently am using herbs to ween myself off methimazole and following a similar protocol as I did when I was younger.
      Motherwort, Lemon Balm Extract, and bugle weed (bugle weed I take before anything else eating wise. Wait 15 min) then I take imported olive oil cold pressed from Lebanon) and 1 capsule of Ancestral Supplements beef tallow.
      I take the mother wort at night unless having a flare up during the day…
      Same with the lemon balm.
      I try to eat what I’m craving… and if it’s bad I make the healthy version like ice cream banana date smoothie with Almond milk ( the 3 ingredient Califia one) or I treat myself on occasion to reduce the stress of will power.
      Anyway I hope this helps everyone is slightly different it seems so def use your intuition with things and feel it all out.

    After taking Methimazole for a year, I went into ‘remission” and stopped taking the medication. 6 months later my levels are high again. My endocrinologist said start taking Methimazole or thyroid ablation. I don’t feel right with either of these options. However I will take the Methimazole and also use your knowledge and experience to see what a lifestyle change with better stress management, more consistent exercise, and a healthy diet can do. The Methimazole lowered my heart rate, stopped the tremors and extreme anxiousness; I also had hair falling out (It’s stopped falling out since stopping Methimazole), and weight gain on Methimazole. I don’t feel good physically or mentally while taking it. I’ve had extreme nighttime itchiness too but that started before the graves.

    Ok my sister, I have really been praying for you about the thyroid disease. I know for a fact how hard it is to deal with hyperthyroidism as I was diagnosed with that some time ago. My heart rate was really high and I had bad heart palpitations. God is a Healer and I believe you are on the right track with watching your foods and exercising and practicing relaxation techniques. I did opt to have an ablation, so I have no thyroid function. I have to be on medication for the rest of my life, BUT every medication I have been tried on I am allergic to. I have literally been place on at least six different meds at different dosages, but all have so far given me really bad hives, rashes and face swelling. I say this to say, please be careful and continue to be prayerful. Hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism is very serious. Please take care of yourself.

    Hello my love! I have been wondering how you were doing. Well, I was rediagnosed with subclinical hyperthyroidism back in August and my doctor wanted to see me back in 3 months. I knew that meant one month for the Father...one month for the Son...and one month for the Holy Ghost. I believed that what God did before He would do again, and He didn't fail me. I ate what He instructed me to eat and I exercised more consistently. I wasn't given any medication to take during this time; however, I am not opposed to medication, if needed. When I went back my thyroid levels were back in the normal range. Now, with that said, though, I am battling a different health issue. After a recent colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with a colon condition. I thank God it wasn't colon cancer; however, this diagnosis (like any diagnosis) was so unexpected. I don't remember even asking God what caused it, but I guess my spirit knew to ask because I heard in my spirit "chemicals". He has been working with me on cleaning up my act. I've had to clean the areas of my house that guest can't even see. I believe as I've been cleaning my earthly home, He's been cleaning His home...His temple (ME). He wants the Body of Christ CLEAN. This lines up with scripture because He's coming back for a church without a blemish or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27). What does without blemish mean? It means CLEAN. So, in my spirit, I have sensed two things need cleaning and this is where the "chemicals" come in. We, the Body of Christ, need to eat clean foods that are free of pesticides, preservatives, and not processed...organic whole foods. These types of foods will give us the good chemicals we need that are found in the natural vitamins and minerals that our food possesses. I heard in my spirit "Fresh is best" (He rhymes with me). We need to wear clean clothes. Our clothes are full of petroleum and plastics. Our skin is our biggest organ and it soaks in the residue from our clothes. I never even considered how the clothes I wear could be impacting my health and well-being. It's called Fast Fashion or Dirty Fashion (you can Google this). These chemicals are impacting our health and well-being. Our bodies are being treated like a landfill because we are wearing waste. Our Father wants us well, but this requires obedience to live His way. We can choose His way or the world's corrupt way. This corruption is negatively impacting our bodies. However, by His grace and with His help, we can all clean up our act. I believe, then, we will see healing in the land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Faith, I hope you don't mind this long comment, but I sensed the Lord wanted me to share the road as I'm beginning a journey of becoming clean in my heart and soul, and now in my physical body. Faith, were you aware of any of this regarding the chemicals we wear? I will say this journey is requiring focus and discipline, but ultimately it is backed by LOVE and LOVE never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). I had thought to share this information with you, but maybe there are others who are not aware of this that will be enlightened by my comment. This is all new for me regarding living clean; however, I am finally learrning how to love me and I believe that will ultimately impact my body in ways that are for my good and His glory!!!!! I will continue to keep you in my prayers, Sis. I hope you will do the same for me. God bless you and your beautiful family!!!

      Absolutely beautiful!! ✨🙏🏽
      God's GRACE is WONDERFUL... We don't know and then He sends a community to reveal and we just have to be obedient. I didn't know about the clothing situation, although a few years back I asked the Lord to make me disciplined enough to not buy anything for a year... We got here and well...
      Clean /without blemish is God's way! And I desire to fully be in His Way! Live food that we put into our temple (that carries the Holy Ghost) is something to be so mindful about! ✨

      Synthroid is not for hyperthyroidism/Graves disease it is for hypothyroidism/ Hashimoto so if you really have Graves’ disease your medication is wrong it should be methimazole that is probably why your symptoms are magnified please get a second opinion from someone else i was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism/ Graves in 2017 and i am also a Nurse i opted to keep my thyroid in the beginning of my diagnosis it was rough i was super fatigued, heart palpitations, hot flash, tremors you name the symptoms i had them all i had an endocrinologist that didn’t listen and had me one some dangerously high levels of methimazole nothing was happening my symptoms remained and i kept on packing on the weight loosing my hair my skin became horrible it was a nightmare he wouldn’t listen to anything i was saying so decided to changed him, the new endocrinologist she was much better. I absolutely hate taking medication because i do believe the body is capable of healing itself so i changed my diet went vegan and tried herbal treatments the blend is ( motherwort, lemon balm and bugleweed) that is when things started turning around for me i have been in remission since 2020 tsh gets checked twice per year and its been my weight has been reduced, my symptoms are gone, skin is back n my hair have approved alot so hang in there you can feel better do your research read labels before you eat or drink anything stay away from foods high in iodine

    Hii I’m 26 & also a Mom♥️
    Sadly I have grave disease (hyperthyroidism) & I’m going on 4 years with it and at times it gets to me so bad.
    My eyes get very itchy and dry I get very sleepy, it’s hard to get out of bed, I get depressed bc of how weak I feel, my anxiety is terrible .
    I refuse to be on the medicine I don’t feel much of a difference with it anyways. And what caused it for me was the way I was eating, & stress . I ate very unhealthy during my pregnancy with my son. Dunking donuts every single day I walked in the blizzard cold snow for my ice coffee and donuts and whatever else, Finished it by the time I got back up thous hills and would back down for another one ! I don’t know what the heck I was thinking omg. But I was diagnosed with it back in 2020 while pregnant, and I remember being so upset. My obgyn noticed it bc of my eyes they were popping out a bit and my thyroid was swollen. My body has already gone through so much. I’ve been on remission of osteosarcoma cancer for 9 years now, I do believe in self healing, and I’m on my healing journey with taking care of myself and my body! My mind, my heart. My soul, I want to love myself and most importantly I want to FEEL GOOD. I want to start the gym, and gain some weight I’m so under weight it’s so hard for me to gain weight but I’ve always been a skinny girl naturally. So having thyroid problems juss makes it worst . But I’m so greatful to come across your videos. And I will definitely take a lot of what you say with me, and start my healing journey, ♥️

Sometimes they look the same and normal I guess when my levels are good, but they definitely look just like that, and I feel like my face looks so uneven I don’t like it and I’m desperate for a change!

      I stopped taking the medication and I use fresh rosemary water (boil rosemary stems in water, after boiling and simmering for about 30 minutes, let cool and pour into a water bottle... Add a few drops of rosemary oil, peppermint oil and spray on scalp daily morning and evening) I keep the bottle in the fridge when not using... Last about 3-4 weeks depend on how much you use.

    Yall… medication is good. If one doesn’t work for you another one will. There are other options. Graves hyperthyroid is serious and can cause death if not managed. I know because I have it. I was on methamizol for about 9 months and have been in remission for almost 5 years. I am sensitive to foods that amp up my thyroid (foods with iodine - nori in sushi, shrimp, cranberries…).
    I agree though about movement and stress management. Those two things along with an 80:20 diet are things I have to do.

    • @FaithsOven
      @FaithsOven  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Hey Lisa, In all seriousness what stories do you know of where people died if their hyperthyroidism was not managed?
      I assume that you mean managed (by medication) I'm sure there are a lot of us in this world who are trying their best to keep their thyroid managed, it may not be the way that you choose to manage yours but we are managing. I mentioned quite a few things in this video that help manage 🙏🏽
      I ask because I get tired of being bullied by practitioners who try scare tactics to keep people on medication, which in my case caused terrible side effects. 🙏🏽 I pray you remain in remission and you keep doing what works for you.✨

    Hey I’m curious does working out my your heart pump extremely hard ? I have Graves’ disease and I just started working out and my heart pump so hard it’s scary but I don’t want to stop because I the medicine has made me gain so much weight I need to lose it

    • @FaithsOven
      @FaithsOven  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In the beginning my heart pumped hard, but it was a hard pump like I was out of shape. Within the first week it all evened out. Bless the Lord. I started out just walking, nothing else... Just walking and I'd time myself with the same distance daily. I walked on even ground and incline... incline was tough in the beginning but I pushed through and I was consistent. I walked outdoors so that I could also get that natural vitamin D ... The sunlight.🌞
      I take breaks when necessary, and I believe in diet. I can't think I'm about to maintain a great workout if I'm eating fast food and brownies. Not happening.
      I do believe in a high plant based diet including lots of beans, lentils, fruit, veggie, legumes and meat when craved. I don't have meat three times a day, I don't have meat every day but I do have it.
      I thought I was in great shape ... I moved on to a mix of workout videos and continued walking. When we moved to Turkey that was a whole new challenge... The city that we live in is on INCLINE... talk about huffing and puffing and heart pumping. Whew ... The air is different and people smoke some smoke here. But glory to God after about two months it evened out. CONSISTENCY, diet, circumstances and believing God made a huge difference for me. 🙏🏽
      When working out I like to feel good, I like to breathe well so keeping a steady work out helps me keep my diet in order... It all works together for me. Hope that makes sense.
