    Quick Summary
1:00 started trying for a baby with her husband. After a year, it still was not happening and she started feeling frustrated. Decided to do some tests with a fertility doctor. Her blood work came back as normal except thyroid.
3:27 she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, autoimmune disease known as graves. Solutions was surgery, medication, etc. was told there was nothing that could be done as far as food.
4:50 she felt this wasn’t true as a dietitian but she dove into research.
5:30 She found and met with a naturopathic doctor specializing in autoimmune issues. Ran more tests. Food allergies, heavy metals.
Don’t remember which metal it was but one was high.
Some food allergies. Not true allergies, but leaky gut and Candida. Which elicits an immune response.
7:15 decided to focus on healing the gut. 70% of immune system resides in the gut.
    8:03 natural treatment plan
8:45 What they implemented. Heavy metal detox. Taking supplements to excrete the metals out of my body. You can’t eat an hour before the pill.
9:25 food allergy test. She had 19 different foods. To help lower the immune response.
10:00 herbs for Candida. And leaky gut.
10:20 a diet for gut health - which included 0 grams of added sugar
Very low on starch consumption. To help starve Candida and bacteria.
11:00 she was eating vegan at the time. So it was a lot of starchy foods.
So overtime her diet transformed to a blend of fish and vegetables.
12:18 not saying this is an ideal diet. This is what worked best for her.
12:42 she incorporated bone broth. Cooking rice with bone broth and hot water.
13:10 the herb didn’t taste great but helped for hyperthyroidism.
    13:25 mugwort, motherwort, lemon balm.
Not recommended for when trying to conceive, pregnant, or breast feeding.
It felt better working with a naturopathic doctor who specialized in thyroid .
    16:00 vitamin d supplements
16:16 low impact exercises. No running. More walking and yoga.
    17:05 implemented essential oils
    Frankincense, mrryh,
18:10 worked to lessen her toxic load. More natural products. Skincare, hair care etc.
18:55 she remembered crying. Trying to order a smoothie and it was too much sugar.
Felt deprived and frustrated. It was very overwhelming.
It took time to find new foods that she enjoyed eating.
21:10 she remembers people telling her she’s so focused. They couldn’t go months not eating sugar. She thought that was easy. She’d rather have a baby than eat a cookie.
She wanted to feel if she went those other routes that she’d gave it her best shot.
23:00 every month she was getting blood draws. So after following the plan for 6 months her levels went back to normal.
23:50 started trying acupuncture for fertility. She stopped taking the herbal blend since her levels were back to normal.
She felt really tired, but was late on period.
24:20 she checked the pregnancy test and it was positive. Finally after 2 years. A blend of joy and anxiety and overwhelm.
27:10 she gets her thyroid checked about twice a year unless she’s feeling extra rundown. They’ve been good since.
27:50 it’s a hard exhausting lonely emotional journey. People don’t know how to support you. People don’t know how to be there for you. You don’t know how to ask for help.

Because of you, I am now in REMISSION from graves disease! I found your video in January of 2023 (watched it multiple times when I was feeling down and hopeless) and as of last week, I found out from a random blood draw, that I am in REMISSION! I did not do everything you did, BUT you gave me hope that I could do this! I focused on healing my gut, getting healthy, and autophagy! I have a long way to go, keeping myself in remission, but I'm on the right track! Thanking you and God for answering my prayers and helping me. For those reading this, you CAN do this! I will say that, I did not take any medicine, but I would have if it got out of control. Just because you are taking the medicine, doesn't mean you can't still heal yourself and get off it. ❤️

Hi just wanted to say a big thank you because today, 8 months after I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism/Graves' Disease I am happy to report that my latest thyroid panel reports have come back as 'normal no action needed'. I feel so indebted to you because all those months ago I was in a tailspin of anxiety and worry. I'd been given the usual options by my endocrinologist, which were really 'no options' for me at any rate and was feeling very low. Then thankfully I found your video and that took away the worry. Watching it, I thought 'I've found the path I need to follow' and just did it. Your video was so important to me because there aren't many people out there doing positive videos dealing with how you can save your thyroid through nutrition. Infact I could only find ONE other. So I am endlessly thankful to you for doing this video. Everything you say is spot on and I am thrilled to say it works! Bless you

My Daughter was diagnosed with Graves Disease, 7 weeks ago. After a 2 year battle with low energy, hand tremors, high heart rate, you name it. She was put on betta blockers for high heart rate. And then she was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. Stress from her Dad and me sometimes for not going to school. From the school ect. You get the pattern. Finally emergency hospital diagnosed with Graves Disease. She went on the tablets and starting to change her diet gradually and 16yr olds don't like to be told what to eat. But i do remember going to a naturopath 2.5 years ago with diagnosis of leaky gut. But as she was young didn't want ro take all the powders. I have spent thousands on Doctors from EEC to EEG, and just needed to Express my pain and emotions to you. As I felt the pain and fustration as you were reading this. Thank you for the video. ❤

I was diagnosed with Graves disease in 2019. I was blindsided. I had a few thyroid storms, extreme anxiety, heart palpatations, trimmers, memory loss and was put on Methimazole which made me have hair loss. It turned my world upside down and I cried for two years. I was 50 years old and felt like a million bucks in June and in July, I could barely walk or breathe. I was terrified! I cried while watching this, thank you for sharing your journey. I'm starting to lose hope and accepting what will possible happen to me. I was only a 22years old working student when I noticed that something was wrong with my body, I thought it was just fatigue because I'm a working student and I usually drink coffee then I noticed that my eyes were bulging, I'm catching my breath even just when I'm walking so I decided to go to the hospital for a check up and got diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. My self-esteem goes down knowing that even before I got this grave disease I have Onychophagia, insomnia and anxiety already. I think because I grew up in a family that mistakes are not usual, they will call you anything more than others can call you. However, my family didn't know about all of that, so it doubled the struggle I have in this lifetime but I still manage to ignore the symptoms because I'm taking medication already. I'm an achiever, and I love to please my parents, usually quiet even if they are scolding for making a mistake, I'm afraid that they will be ashamed because of me. Little did I know that in this disease, irate and anxiety were one of the symptoms, I don't want to make them worry because of me they will not buy it they will think you're just having a pity party haha. My family called me an addict I think because my eyes were bulging? but I'm not, they made fun of my feelings while crying, dramatic because I can't take their insults anymore. I think I don't have someone to talk to and I don't usually tell my friends all of my problems. Thank you Ms., I hope I can be like you in this battle ❤

Same with me. My sister believes that I’m sick but she makes fun of me being emotional. She says I’m extra dramatic and a cry baby. Well, I’ve been emotional but now I’m more expressive with both sadness and anger lol. But it sucks that she doesn’t understand with this condition our hormones are out of whack. I’m due for an ultrasound and to meet with the endocrinologist. I’m nervous and have so much anxiety. I feel like all I’m getting is bad news every visit 😢. But this video has given me light and knowledge that I must reconnect with my body and treat it well. I wish you all love and support during this struggle. 🙏🏽🩷

I’m a grown man going through a hyperthyroidism nightmare right now. I had Covid in March and had a thyroid storm. I had no idea I had a thyroid issue before this round of Covid. It is an absolutely devastating thing to go through. I walked my daughter down the aisle after 3 days of no sleep and a nervous system that wouldn’t shut off. She graduated medical school a few days later and the stress of dealing with those two events and trying to get to the bottom of my illness was beyond overwhelming. 12 days after the graduation my wife of 31 years walked out the door and she is now divorcing me. I have family that supports me but they have no idea how devastating this thyroid condition is! My numbers are back in line but I still have flare ups. The right lobe of my thyroid is inflamed and has nodules on it. I’m hoping g that after this divorce is over it’ll calm down some and I can live a life that I don’t always feel like I can’t even live in my own skin.

My mum had been diagnosed with SLE many many years ago. It is a similar group of disease as Graves. Just different organ DESTRUCTION INVOLVED. I've been with my mum during her lowest period. What I can say to have been diagnosed with any autoimmune disease is such a suffering really. I mean during the remission time, you cannot really say you are sick until the storms come back later and then that drags you down again. It is such a dramatic disease 😌.This condition does not kill you suddenly but it makes you suffer quicker than your age.

My misdiagnosis of Graves disease was, in fact aspartame poisoning. If you are consuming any "diet" or "sugar free" food or drink then you are ingesting aspartame. Apparently, it's not a problem for a lot of people but it's a problem for me I controlled the symptoms with medication for 6 months and was facing thyroid removal after a year. I started reading labels and avoiding aspartame. I returned to normal thyroid function free of medication within 90 days. My guiding research was a research paper published by two MDs at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.

Hey, what were your symptoms before being diagnosed? I been getting strange symptoms such as, shaking hands, not being able to sleep at all, usually I used to have regular periods and now no periods, my heart beat would be beating so fast above 114 and I was worried and I also feel very hot. I spoke to the doctor and he booked for a thyroid test hoping that I find out what's wrong with me.

    • @torahgirlforlife
      @torahgirlforlife 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@sumaiyah4292 Hi! So yes, I had all those EXACT symptoms. The first thing that made me wonder if something was up was my irregular cycles…I’d end up having like only two a year. Then back in August 2020 I was at a camp and suddenly started shaking, hyperventilating, and I couldn’t think, I felt like I was going insane. Then a few months down the road I randomly passed out. Then right after that, boom, full swing of shaky hands, crazy insomnia, my periods where almost nonexistent, and my resting heart rate was 120. I was also experiencing horrible itching problems, but no rash…just crazy itching sensations. Also my thyroid gland would start to swell up, and it always felt like someone was pushing on my throat. I’ve been on methimazole (thyroid medication) since December 2020, and some of my symptoms have gone down, but I still experience them, just to a lower degree. My endocrinologist would really like to for me to remove my thyroid, but you have to remember that the thyroid is the organ taking the brunt of something else. There is something else that is not right deeper in your body. I’ve started to see a naturopath, because I believe removing the thyroid is very rash and barbaric. When removing the thyroid you are removing a major organ, and not grave’s or hyperthyroidism. Now of course you might feel better, but you have to rely on medication for the rest of your life to now substitute for the missing thyroid. Do your research, I strongly encourage that. Read and read! There are great books out there on hyperthyroidism. And also! :) it’s gonna get better!! Methimazole has helped me a ton, but just know what you can only be on it for so long until it’ll start affecting your liver. So just be cautious. My mother has studied a lot of medical journals on graves and that is where most of our information has come from. Your thyroid controls hormone and bone production, don’t remove it unless there is no other route. Take every path. It’s hard, but fight for your health. 😊 whisking the best for you! Praying for your health!!

Thank you for sharing your story; it brought me to tears. It's very similar to my own journey with infertility and a Graves/Hashimotis diagnosis, and it is comforting to know we're not alone. I, too, have been frustrated with doctors, tests and lack of options (mostly I was encouraged to just get my thyroid removed). But I believe God heals and we need to do our part to heal our bodies with food, supplements and exercise. Thanks for doing this video! I've enjoyed watching your channel for quite a while :)

Thank you for your video, I’m literally crying right now because of your encouragement. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid earlier this year, accepting this fact alone was so hard for me and I also had to deal with a lot of symptoms. I feel hopeless most of the times because I feel like I’ll ended my 20s with a lot of medication and it scares me. But these recent months, I’m trying to learn and search another option and I’m still on the waiting list to consult with a naturopath. Just know you are not alone and as you can see from the number of comments on this video, so many people have and are going through a thyroid imbalance, it's sadly very common. The good news is there are many options for helping to bring balance back to your health and thyroid, reduce symptoms and feel better!! I am wishing you total health and well-being in your journey!!

I was diagnosed with Grave’s disease with possible parathyroid adenomas early last year. On top of that, my husband and I have walked through infertility for the last 5 years. Though I was being seen by an endocrinologist who helped get me out of the danger zone of thyroid storms via medication, I still felt awful and hopeless. I found your video during a really really hard day. I was weeping by the end of watching it. I wanted to choose my hard and knew that Grave’s and infertility were not the hard I wanted. Thanks to your vulnerability and intentionality with this video, last August I pursued a clinic in the US that specializes in reversal of autoimmune diseases with a bio hygienic approach. My lab work was a mess- gastric, cortisol, deficiencies, toxin overload- a ton to work through. I started on that journey last October, and became a literal new person 😭 lost 35 pounds, no more headaches, no more grave’s symptoms, and everything has changed. I’m almost completely in remission now. The Lord has brought so much healing to my body through this intentional living that we’ve finally been able to conceive 😭 I’ll be starting my second trimester on Mother’s Day. Which is so surreal. Whew.
I can’t thank you enough for this video. You gave me the push I needed to have a serious talk with my husband of what our life would look like long term with my autoimmune issues. My life is forever changed. Praising the Lord for you!

My antibodies just came back and align with Grave’s. Tomorrow is my endocrinologist appointment and I’m finding out for sure. Within a month I lost 15 lbs and so much muscle. I can’t even go up the stairs anymore. I have this prickly feeling on my skin that drives to tears, it was actually this symptom and my heart rate that alerted the doctor. Heart rate was around 124, with the beta blockers now it is low 90s. Really scarred because I’m allergic to iodine too, so I don’t even know if I can do the RAI.

I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism 2 years ago and was on Carbimazole, My dosage changes on and off for a few months after each blood test (I lost weight in the beginning but have been gaining the weight back x2). I was referred by the doctor to the Endocrinology Clinic and was diagnosed with Grave Disease with Hyperthyroidism in March this year.
I was given an option by the doctor to either continue with the medication that may take years to be 'normal' or go for the operation (Radioactive Iodine Treatment) that removes the thyroid gland permanently but will/might have to rely on medication for the rest of my life.
Chose not to take the operation and decided to continue with being on Carbimazole. Still struggling with it due to constant weight gain and hair loss but is Staying Positive! 😁

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with Graves back in 2019 (went into remission once) and have seen multiple doctors. My husband and I are also struggling with infertilely. I was also given three options [1. Methimazole 2. Radioactive Thyroid Treatment 3. Surgery] I'm a Registered Nurse and have seen the negative side effects of these options.
I want to get back into remission naturally because I believe in the power of exercise and food. After watching your video, I have some burning questions:
    1. What were the names of the three herbs? (Motherwart...)
    2. How often did you apply the herb tincture over your thyroid?
    3. In the six months of following the strict diet, did you see your TSH/T4/T3 improve or fluctuate (go in and out of range)?
    4. What is the name of the test they run to see overgrowth of various bacteria in the gut?
    5. Since getting back into remission, have your resumed any of the foods you were avoiding on the strict diet?
Sorry for all the questions! I am just desperate to get better again and have children. It has been a heartbreaking journey, but your video has given me hope.

I found someone that finally understands what it’s like and have felt the roller coaster of this journey to healing from this illness. I wish I would have seen this video before making the decision on my treatment plan. I would have tried harder to do a natural approach to balance my thyroid levels. I was given the same option when I was diagnosed. I tried the medication at first but had a terrible reaction to it (hives and extreme joint pain) so I stopped immediately and went through that for weeks until the medication left my body. Then I was told the next option was surgery or RIT (radiation iodine therapy) I was so scared. The doctor made it seem like it was the best option for my case was RIT. I met with the radiation doctor and he insured that it was the lowest dose I had to take and made it seem as if it was a safe option. I did the treatment and wasn’t easy during any time period. It’s been a few months since and now I’m feeling symptoms of hypothyroidism which in turn was the point of the treatment so I can be treated for hypothyroidism and take medication possibly for the rest of my life, sadly. So yes I will agree it has been the most difficult time in my life to go through this illness and be completely helpless on what to do for what’s best for yourself. I hope with some help of any kind and be hopeful that it’s not to late for me to get to a place of healing with balancing my thyroid levels

I recommend a full thyroid panel (not just TSH) including TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3 and Thyroid Antibodies to get a full picture of your thyroid health :)

Hello...I was diagnosed for hyperthyroidism (graves diseases) from 2010. I wish I was brave as half of you. I also did my research. You can google food that you can eat when you have hyperthyroidism. You can also find so much info on youtube now but before most of the info you would find was about hypothyroidism. In my opinion diet works for some people my thing is that I also have hbp so I opted for radioactive treatment. This disease does make you feel alone and because family members dont understand what you are going through it can be daunting. Please don't give up on finding solutions that can help you. The answers are out there ❤.

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease last year. I was devastated as my husband and I were trying to have our second baby. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so sorry to hear this! I can definitely relate to how frustrating it can be searching for an answer, finding a doctor that is a right fit and so on. That part of the process alone is really discouraging and exhausting. Yes I definitely recommend making gut health a priority with nutrition, reducing stress (not easy but so important) and even some herbs can help! A Naturopathic Doctor, Holistic MD or Holistic RDN would be able to help!

      Hi Jasmine,
I was diagnosed last year with graves as well. Had the typical symptoms plus the extreme weight loss (95kg->70Kgs) (i am 6ft1 for reference). Started feeling much better from the start of this year following the works of Dr Weston A price and Aajonus vonderplanitz which advocates for an animal based diet (preferably raw). I incorporated alot of raw eggs, raw meats/organs, raw dairy. I juice some vegetables as well and eat some fruits. I am now back to 86kgs and my T3 has reduced drastically. Very important to get alot of cholesterol rich foods as they can help regulate hormones and help build back the body. While medication has its place you can definitely do it through diet and lifestyle alone. Make sure you nail the diet part right down and find joy/creativity in your life. I hope you do well in your journey and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I can’t say how good it felt to finally be heard after a lifetime of suffering. I hope the best for you. I’m going to start on my diet as the last year I’ve been working on quitting alcohol. I have no doubt they’re related, I have had symptoms of hyperthyroidism for 3 years to the point of being urgent to treat. My theory is about the gut microbiome. I have celiac ( all my life but diagnosed in the result 2000’s), endometriosis., and Multiple food allergies.
My anxiety has been sky high all my life from so many traumas. Then I had tachycardia, all the time, my resting pulse was 120. Now I’m on proponolol? On a low dose of 20mg per day.

Hi! I continue to eat gluten-free, dairy-free and very limited added sugar intake. Mostly organic, real, whole foods and mostly a plant-based diet. Although I do eat organic chicken and as well as salmon. No red meat, pork. I focus on gut health and liver health with a variety of foods and herbs. I eat 2 brazil nuts a day for selenium which is great for thyroid health as well as my vitamins. I also focus on stress management with low impact movement daily, meditation, going in the near infrared sauna and I also love doing castor oil packs. These are just some of the key things I do! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease 1 year ago and put on medication. Over the year my medication was changed once. Now it seems that one side effect of the meds has caused me to have a low wbc which will cause me to be susceptible to infections. So about 2 months ago my internist tells me I have to think about doing thyroid surgery or iodine therapy very soon. I can’t delay. I told her I felt I was being rushed into surgery. She give me 2 months to decide as well as have discussions with a surgeon. On my next visit I told her I wasn’t convinced that surgery or iodine therapy was truly necessary at this time. (In the meantime I have made some recommended changes to my diet and added some recommended supplements. I have also done some pressotherapy sessions.) I had done blood work before my visit. She said she will have to stop the medication because it will be harmful. She checked my lab results and decided to stop the meds. I will return in 2 weeks for a follow up to see how the thyroid is functioning. I pray all will be well then.

Don't do it. I heard it won't get to the bottom of the true issue of why you have Graves to start with. Heal the gut. Stop gluten and dairy no prepackaged foods 1st thing. Look for a gut healing diet or an A I P diet. Once you heal your gut you can add some foods back in.
