Korgan is possibly the most awesome character ever. Just the sheer insanity and bloodlust of a guy who'd go into the Underdark and take on the Drow. No wonder he's a legend.
I've been playing RPGs since Ultima games - back when I could hardly read - and Baldur's Gate was one of those that set standarts for other games. People talk about Skyrim: sure, it has fancy bling bling, but it is nowhere near as epic as modern day hype-fanboys claim it to be. Those same people see games like Baldur's Gate and are like "dude that haz shit graphiks! who can play that shit!" - games had soul back then, even if they aren't visually impressive today. Skyrim doesn't have that spirit
Yeah old RPG makers loved the genre itself more than they did money. They invested in amazing writing, plot and dialogues cause they were concerned with creating an epic rather than delivering a product on deadline. I actually picked up small history lessons and real world knowledge just from references in BG's writing. Awesome game...
I have to say playing an evil party with him in it equaled to that playing a good party with minsc. Some of his one liners... "Let's see what your guts be looking like!" Great character and very memorable!.
Also: "Be aware, Mazzy, I've something long, hard and low to the ground ye're free to touch and fondle. Child, no need to glare! 'Twas me axe I were referring to." *-* HOW EPIC IS THAT!?
Was he really that evil? I always felt like he was a crude, greedy scoundrel but I dunno.. I think he was Chaotic Neutral/Lawful Evil at most. He despised slavers, was "nice" to kids and not really cruel to innocent people in general (wanted their money though if they were rich). Best tank/fighter in the whole saga.
+aweha +aweha I agree that Korgan isn't really evil, but that's how it goes with BG2 NPCs, Korgan fits in well with lots of good parties Viconia and Sarevok can be turned good/neutral over the course of the game Edwin is Edwin though, you cant change him but at least he gets his due
Been ages since I've played BG2 but I remember dying from laughter when he threatened to bend one of the female characters over his knee and spank her.
Loved him trying to be "charming" and hitting on Mazzy... plus he is best melee NPC before Sarevok shows up in ToB - with good axe and Crom Fayr he was doing almost the damage of my Kensai NPC!
@BGEndings That's how I felt about Kagain, too. Don't get me wrong, he is very useful (& heals automatically), but he just doesn't seem as evil as Korgan. I think they should have made them related, though.
He had a strong personality, so you are probably right. He seems to be a step up in evilness compared to Kagain from Baldur's Gate 1 (his evil dwarf fighter predecessor with a similar name).
Replaying bg2 and I forget he's chaotic evil, spent too much time questing and he left my party (as did Viconia and Hexxat) due to doing good guy stuff :( The game not the same since...
I really want to like Korgan, but he is just so damned evil! It kind of feels like once I'm through with Irenicus, I'm gonna have another villain on my hands to deal with. But when Aerie reems him in ToB it's worth it to keep him around.
@HOBAHEY31 'shite' as in 'shit' as in the worst dwarven character ever to grace the face of cRPG games, as in "OGHREN". How can you even compare KORGAN with him ?

"History, it seems, finds more heroes than madmen"
This sentence inspired me to study history.
"Aye, now this be more like it. The first to disobey me orders - gets ann ax in their skull!" - Korgan sure is a legend!

Common among dwarves/duergars. Compare his evilness to Dorn's. Dorn slaughters women and children like its no biggie.
@@janmedeus3070 Dorn is also gay, which explains his degeneracy.
What if Korgan, Khelgar, and Kagain got together for a tavern rumble? Id pay to see that.
face it dudes.. evil characters were the best
If only they DON'T run away from having a good reputation...
@@rufure9294 Just kill some innocent kid before saving some other kid. Balances it out.
@@toprak3479 Just turn to Slayer for any good deed in BG2, problem solved.
best character ever!
music...it can't get more epic than this!

Despite all he can't stand child slavery.
Any slavery, he say it in the game "Not even I would sell any kids or people like some kind of cattles !" when fgihting off the slavers
MY AXE IS FUCKING READY
@xxAtlantianKnightxx Best dwarf? Bah!... he is THE BEST CHARACTER ever!
"Korgan was last seen burying his axe in the gullet of a high priest of Lolth"
Doesn't Lolth only have priestesses?
Korgan killed the first ones.
Another lost brother.
bout time we got to business
RIP my demented brother.
Rock and stone
Korgan, Minsc, Viconia, Jann and Haer'dalis had hands down the funniest, most memorable lines in the game.
I hope you were paid well for uploading this...;-)

Just as today.

well when you learn comprehensible English I may have a retort...
seriously....get help...you do not have a foothold in the real world...
please seek professional help....at first I was only kidding but it is obvious you do not have a foothold in the real world...you need therapy....
