Baldur's Gate - Viconia (Romance) Ending
This romance is second to Neera gahaha
The GOAT. Who is the True God referred to here?
As much as I love bg3, I kind of wish this had been minscs ending
RIP my demented brother.
"All agreed that the child of Bhaal never forgot the love of his dark maiden" Couldn't have said it better! I hate that she was poisoned, This is the wife that, once your kids are grown and have kids of their own, you take by the hand to the Armoury. After arming themselves to the teeth they take their death march on to the field of battle. How I would have worded the ending.... "Child of Bhaal and his Dark Maiden, suffering from a thousand wounds, Embrace each other in death surrounded by the corpses of their enemies"
Was remade in UO
Too bad he gave up on redemption and went back to Bhaal, canonically.
I wonder, did he make the Justice Fist before or after BG3?
BG3 is not canon
Rock and stone
Ah memories :)
And then they threw it all away in 3 and made him…that. As good as that game otherwise is, I’ll never forgive Larian for it.
Ey
Yo jakey
Although The Avariel has devoted her life to honoring both The Winged Mother and The Masked Leaf, one need only gaze upon her wide-eyed countenance to know that she was blessed by Lady Goldheart.
Ending a bit too sad tbh. She just died from some poison? Just like that? After all we've been through? No rod of resurrections or clerics to rescue her? No wish spells? I know it's somewhat fitting, though. Viconia hints lloth would never let her go. And to her credit, she was right.
Well Apparently she DID return to the Sword Coast during a certain Illithid Crisis ....
Came here while playing BG3 to reminisce about the way things ended in the previous episode with our pal Minsc. Forgot how incredible was the music btw.
I am in act3 of bg3, read a book that referenced her. Where is she? She is hanging out with literally Elminster. You would think Gale knows of her.
And just like that Larian ruined this
Actually they didn't, there was a supplemental book made some time ago that was sadly made canon and in that book Sarevok turned evil again. Their inclusion of him in the game may not be the best, but let's not lay blame on them for WOTC being very stupid, as usual.
@@chaptermasterdomitheus5867 Sarevok in that book was a drug addict and as i remember in that book jaheira was dead as per Wotc canon, obviously they didnt follow the canon completely for some reason, so shifting the blame on wotc doesnt cut it, larian is mostly at fault for the depiction of Sarevok in bg3.
@@Rogan35 Im sorry but that's just not true. The book Im referencing is called "MInsc and Boo's journal of villainy" and in said book, Sarevok becomes a beggar after his time as an adventurer brought him no joy. Then when Bhaal is revived, he finds Sarevok and recruits him to be his high priest and also restored his Bhaalspawn nature. So no, Larian didn't fuck this up, it was WOTC.
@@chaptermasterdomitheus5867 Does that book also include Sarevok doing incest?
@@Rogan35No, that is Larian's I believe. Not a fan of that choice, but it probably is their attempt at making Sarevok utterly repellent. Could be seen as a "Well if he has to be the bad guy, then let's make him as vile as possible."
Glad to see her again in BG3 :)
Consider the commitment Jaheira brings to her pursuits...the sheer fervor displayed in every adversarial moment; if even a dash of that zest were poured into their amorous adventures, Gorion's Ward and The Harper likely left scores of worn cots up and down The Sword Coast.
I always sympathized with Sarevok, it wasn't fair what happened to him, tragic...
This hurts my heart still ❤❤
This is the best romance by far. Her hidden mercy when she was a child, the guilt she feels about what happened to her brother, her experiences with peasants on the surface and her amazingly well-written arc of fear, insecurity, survival and tenderness... and her tragic epilogue. It's just perfect. I've always loved Viconia DeVir. The whole Bhaalspawn saga shoud be in HBO.
She was honestly the only girl I ever wanted in the whole series. I wanted so bad for her to not be full on evil. Not necesarily good (I hate goodie 2-shoes characters more than evil characters) but a meeting in the middle at true nuetral.
Then she forgot about Charname and went on to get a child together with Halsin. WHY LARIAN WHY???
Girls: I can't believe he didn't even cry at the end of Titanic? Do guys even have feelings? Guys watching Sarevok's ending: ..............
He's still alive!!! Baldurs gate 3
Yes!!! And what's so amazing is that it doesn't at all cheapen this ending. If anything, it just makes Minsc's legend grow. And Boo's too, of course. ;)
Farewell, king.
I love this open ending!
Came here to pay tribute. The last line turned on the watermarks. Hail Minsc, your mighty berserker strength will not go unremembered!
Ok, so for Anomen lovers of chivalry out there, I highly suggest listening to two songs, "Lady" by Kenny ROgers and Lionel Richie and "Lady" by Styx, because now I can't hear them wiothout thinking they sound like Anomen wrote them for the main character based on how he likes to woo women. He really does love the main character and changes because someone believes in him and ends up being a solid rock for the character by Throne of Bhaal the tables seem to turn and he is the one offering spiritual guidance if you follow the good and chivalrous course. I personally like how they made Anomen flawed and relaistic, honestly almost annoying like an old 80s villain from a fantasy tv show like the old Robin Hood with Clannad Music. Makes sense considering age of voice actor. When I think of how many exhausting side quests there are in BG2 I really think the romances for women were totally ripped off, lol. Like we did not need *that* many side quests that didn't even involve party members. I think there could have been a lot more to the Anomen one. Spoiler. . . .. . . . It doesn't make sense to me there's not a third option, or why once you're a god, you can't carry on with any romance options in throne of bhaal, as that's what gods do. Also, considering Anomen, if you leave him to be a god, goes on to form the disciples of Anomen, and is very powerful himself, it's almost setting Anomen up to form a new cult of his own. I think I prefer the storyline where Anomen regains faith in himself and his faith through the romance, however, which he doesn't get in just the guy one. Also, I think Anomen is definitely interesting because of the paradoxes in his personality. I really think if they ever made BG into a series or movie, they need to have the Anomen romance in there. BG2 is pretty much Highlander in DND. But a good brother and good sister combo would be fine, with one of them perhaps choosing to ascend and the other staying in the mortal realm. Or better yet, sharing power, somethin Bhaal could never do. And after all this time, what kind of God is the child of Bhaal? I think that DND should have made this an official and cannon God in the pantheon to play by now.
Strange that Torm would show him such favour. I don't consider him to be a very good paladin considering his short fuse and lack of wisdom. Still, he knows how to swing a sword, and can come close to outperforming the Bhaalspawn. Guess that's all that matters in the end.
I can see him inadvertently making a complete nuisance of himself, leaving, and going on genuinely thinking he did nothing wrong.
Ah that's interesting about the De'Arnise keep. I know if the keeps your stronghold you can ultimately kill Lord Farthington Roenal as he does ultimately try to take it from you by force . The one that tries to take it in the epilogue is his son (Isaea) who was seen in some quests related to Nalia. I suppose even if you take the keep in the original BG2 campaign it makes some sort of sense that Isaea managed to somehow sidle in while you were absent; very hard to rule if you're constantly on the move and possibly aspiring to Godhood. However it is good to see that Nalia no matter what will ultimately take De'arnise for herself whether you ruled or not. After all by Throne of Bhaals end she's on a god-tier level of power.
His death isnt important, his life was. He was a Paladin, a friend and a fighter for the right things. Nothing more.
Only a tragic ending is appropriate for her tragic life , still she lived two centuries , managed to find love and peace , unfortunately everyone die at some point . . . EXCEPT SHE IS BACK
Very Zelda like, I can see where Nintendo got its inspiration from.
Some his items are the coolest ones you can find in the series. I played PS:T years after BG2, and Nordrom reminded me a lot of Jan.
*"You and Boo and I. Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!"*
He was definitely one of a kind. BG2's most unique character ever.
Music for my funeral...
Based
I just read this now in 2021. More than 10 years after finishing bg1 and 2. Deym....
The greatest character in the game by far.
wat?
CHAOS!
Keldorn - "By Torm I shall strike you down!"
This asshole stole aerie from me the first time I was romancing her
A shame we didn't receive a Nalia Romance option.
