i appreciate the video, it is very helpful to know where the battery is but I do have a question, when you installed the new battery shouldn't you have went postive then negative, not negative then positive? I was always taught when removing a battery to unhook Negative first, then Positive and reverse of that when installing a new battery, Positive On first, then Negative i was told it would lesson your risk of blowing fuses and the vehicle computer this way...

Connect the non-grounded terminal first. This is almost always the positive terminal, but on some older vehicles it might be negative. This is to prevent a short circuit should any tools you are using to tighten the terminals touch any surrounding metalwork. If that metalwork is not connected to the battery, no short can occur. Extra care should be taken if there is more than one battery. The CHASSIS GROUND connection should be the last one to be connected.
I just watched a video explaining that you need to leave power on to the computer even while changing the battery...but other videos do not talk about this....what is correct? Also...where did you get the tool from? Never seen one like that.
Just disconnect it, not a big deal. With the car not having and power it will just reset the memory and the car will have to redo all the checks. The Tool is a craftsman set that they don’t sell anymore :(

Sorry I just watched it, and it’s a half inch nut on the bottom near the block the uppers are probably 12/14mm and the ratchet used is a craftsman but they don’t make it anymore but if you have a normal ratchet and an extension you can get the bottom nut. Good luck Javier!
Same here, my left hand finger tips got stuck underneath the old battery for a spell. Finally got my hand back out without the battery 🤔 I then used like 3 foot length of rope and maneuvered it underneath the old battery and pulled it out lickety split. New battery came with a built-in handle on top.
I would not put on the negative first I would put back the positive first then the negative. A spark on the positive side could destroy components. This is the only issue I see in the video.
@@LetsRepair yes they let me buy the battery but they say I would still have to find someone to program it we have gone to 3 places and all auto zones have told me the same
Like you would know.... It's easier to get to, and sits inside, in the air conditioning, away from the motor heat and grime. And if you want to connect a power convertor, it's right there, no need to run a wire through the firewall into the engine compartment.

He doesn't know about all those extra things you mentioned. The case I made for the battery placement is that I've never had a battery last me as long as the one we just replaced.
The alarm goes off because the system is being reconnected to power, you just put the key in the ignition or if you have a key fob you can press the alarm button on there. Hope this helps!

If I’m putting a subwoofer in, do I run the power cable from the battery positive thermal or from the positive terminal post in the engine bay

Hey man, what tool did you get to unscrew the bolts?
It’s a ratchet and then I believe I used a 6inch extension I can’t remember I’d have to watch the video again lol.

I went to get a new battery and they said we had to get it programmed or we wouldn’t be able to turn in the car .
Sounds like they are trying to rip you off, I would just tell them I want the battery and that's it.

You cut the clip when removing the negative post, mines not coming off so easy 🤷🏾♂️
Just undo the 1 nut on it, then take a flat head put it under the connector and slowly work it up. let me know how it goes.
No wonder Chevy has become a steaming pile of 💩! Put the battery under the hood where it belongs!
