    Hi Ron,
I Installed my plate last weekend...tricky bugger to install to say the least. Between your video and Slavins Racing video the install went smoothly. I did go ahead and warm up the two rear tabs on the skid plate with a heat gun and left the screws very loose before popping on the plate to the frame, header pipe was also removed. Thanks for your videos!!

Congrats. I think using the heat gun is a great idea because it's so stiff.

Doing mine now. Found on the FX350 having the rear doubler flap off allowed getting the front bolt in easier. Then putting the rear flap in last was simple. Will do the same on the TX300i 👍
*Didn't lay bike down, didn't loosen bolts, didn't take expansion chamber off. Put one side hook on, pivot, bump, clicked on 😂
But I'm struggling to put the front two bolts in 🤦‍♂️😡

JFC! 2021 TE300i Rockstar here and this video kept me going! I removed the pipe and gave it everything I had and SNAP! Fits well but I dread taking this thing off and installing it ever again. Holy hell, thanks for the motivation and tips.

Yeah it's a bear. Loosening the screws is much easier but still it's a pain having to take your pipe off.

Actually kicking it on there like @2:49 will work, just need to make sure that the hooks are lined up with the frame so when it gets kicked with a good swift boot it snaps around the frame and doesn't make it worse by bending one of the plastic hook. After a while they will loosen up. A lot. Good to see you getting that thing all set up proper!

I did pound it a bit more off camera with a mallet and a 1 x 4 but I don't think the angles were right ;( looking forward to ripping with you soon!

Are you going to be installing a pipe guard? Noticed you have an exhaust flange on there which is always a good idea. Thanks for putting these videos together

I don't plan on a pipe guard. I've been convinced the weight isn't worth the cost to repair or replace. I might change my mind in the future if I can't keep it clean! Thanks for your feedback. Hope these videos can help another average Joe out there like myself!

How is the skid plate after using for awhile? I’ve seen some reports the linkage actually gets working and chewed away from skid plate rubbing so much

Its doing great. Although it rubs the linkage, it wears the cover plastic - not the linkage aluminum is very thick and tough.

Do you know exactly what model # this is by chance? Is it the extreme skid from axp? Have the same bike - thanks

The kind of riding we do, its necessary. I didn't have linkage protection on my Yamaha, but the Husky's linkage drops out lower, so you need something to jump and skid over logs.
