@You tube Yeah, the sequels have tons of issues but The Mandalorian is so insanely overrated. It's fun to be in the Star Wars universe, Pedro Pascal and Baby Yoda are great, the production values are good, but overall it's just not a very strong show. No drama, very little tension, poor dialogue, a variety of logical inconsistencies, and extremely bland storytelling. The writing is just not very good at all. People just love the show because it's safe fan service.
@You tube Ok Im a Star Wars yes I agree this episode was filler I think that’s point but I think it’s a good filler episode and that’s the thing I think you don’t get it’s an episode of a story it’s going to show the progression of certain characters but you can still tell that they left Ashoka and Bo Katan that they may show up again. Also this episode of the Mandalorian is meant to show the backstory of baby Yoda (Grogu). The dialogue in this episode is weak in a emotional sense but it was strong in a informational sense as a student of film in UT there’s different types of writing for specific scenes and for different purposes. The writing in the sequel trilogy was not very strong it was “poorly decent” at its best. The Force awakens set up things for episode 8 an 9 but then the way RJ directed episode 8 kinda ruined all the new gang of characters and the old ones making Luke look like weak and not honorable witch is not how you’d portray a hero who brought back the light in his father a man who keep in mind slaughtered people without mercy and brutally. Also not to mention the politics that episode 8 brought into Star Wars universe of you want to make great films don’t bring politics into it that’s also the main flaw of the sequel trilogy. Yes the originals and prequels and Rebels and Clone wars has politics but its very well hidden in the way they portray the real world. The reason why us Star Wars fans love the mandalorian is that there have been at least zero politics in this show. At least I haven’t seen any. I close off with this the Sequel Trilogy had huge freaking potential to be great but they blew it.
Yeah it’s getting a bit redundant I like it but I’m starting to get bored and bit frustrated by the same plot point. I want a more consistent linear narrative based on a more realistic cause and effect like Season 1-4 of GOT and Breaking Bad
Agree. It is fun but it is not very good from a story point of view. It is the same thing over and over again. It barely has any plot. Still fun though, dont get me wrong.
@@callmeej8399 The first two seasons of clone wars and rebels were highly episodic as well. They gradually got more and more serialized with more complex plots going forward. My hope and also what I think is likely the case, the mandalorian will do the same.

Nah Clone Wars was about the Clone Wars. I'd say she became the main character but it wasn't "her" show. She shared the spotlight with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Rex and the clones as a whole, and all the other minor protagonists that got their own arcs. She needs a show that's just her as the protagonist with a more focused character driven story.
I was merely making a joke, Ik the clone wars was an anthology and I love it for that reason. Some of my favorite episodes involve just the clones. Would love to see her own show, if only to finalize her story. She has been the background main character all throughout Clone Wars and Rebels, she should be the lead now. Have a great day and thanks for taking time to stop by and comment.
Proof that too many people treat Star Wars like some religious book. Pick and choose what makes sense and then pepper "from a certain point of view" throughout. Plot holes parsecs wide exist in Star Wars. They try to fill them in with books and cartoons after the fact, but it doesn't work. It's all hair splitting.
But there are Gray Jedi, those that use both sides of the force and/or just distance themselves from the Jedi Council, and with The Council being dismantled and Luke being the only following the teachings it kinda makes anyone using the force a Gray at this point in time. Idk just because you use the force doesn't make you Jedi or Sith there is a "Gray" area lol. Just something to think about.
When I saw Ahsoka, I was like, “Master?” And this episode just proves what we always known, when Jedi and Mandalorians team up, awesomeness happens. I’m also all in for Luke and Ahsoka teaming up and kick some Imperial ass together.
It would be cool if we learn that this wouldn't be the first time it's happened, because from what we know in Canon is that Tar Viszla (first Mandolorian Jedi) was around during Darth Bane and the fall of the Sith Empire
@@MrGenexxx ok? just ok? you must not understand the significance of all the info in this episode. You probably think the sequels are the best films to.

Loved seeing Ahsoka and I also really loved the subtle switch from invoking Westerns like usual to invoking Samurai movies when a Jedi shows up. Super minor things to notice I know but it was there and I thought it was cool. Also really glad the white lightsabers looked good in live action.
It is baffling to me how this series that was made under a year can tell a much better and cohesive story than the Sequel Trilogy that was made in a five year time frame.
Maybe having Filoni and other people who actually worked on Star Wars before and cared for the series helped. It amazes me why Disney thought it was a good idea to get rid of most of the visionary artists behind Star Wars
I loved that episode. I watched it twice. It definitely fulfilled some serious Star Wars force and light saber cravings. RD did a great job as Asoka. I’m a big fan. Definitely needs own series. Just loved it.
George Lucas is still the fucking master. His imprint in the film industry and pop culture is incomparable. I respect what Filoni is doing but he is following the formula that George left him and George made ALL of this. He is the apprentice of NO ONE.
Dave Filoni’s directing was improved exponentially. I can’t wait to see what he directs and writes next outside of this show. A live-action sequel show to Rebels would be great.
I suspect this episode happened for that exact reason. To tell/introduce people to a spin off for Rebels. Remember Sabine and Ezra are getting live action casts too.
He wasn't bad at all in the last episode he directed. Besides, good directors don't always make great films. Jon Favreau has had his ups and downs too. He directed the live action Lion King, and yet people love to hate that film. He also directed Iron Man, which people of course really liked.
@@ClarkusMarkus Filoni would be the first to admit that he is still learning as a live-action director. This episode was a huge improvement from his Tatooine episode last season. “The Jedi” felt a lot more dynamic and well paced then his previous episode.

I had never thought of it but Jeremy brings up a great point- it would only make sense (and be amazing) for Luke and Ahsoka to meet. Let’s hope it happens!!
I was shocked they showed Ahsoka so early. I think most people expected a more dramatic entrance. Like Boba's last second reveal. Nope. She just walked into the shot like here I am.
Seriously, this was a no holds barrier episode, Filoni gave everything he got in the beginning but later when Ahsoka asked for Thrawn...nobody expected that!

Really loved the Japanese aesthetic of this episode. From the look of the whole town to the final fight duel between the two characters on a pond, reminded me of the old Kurosawa movies. Not surprising given the fact that the Jedi were inspired by the Samurai originally.
I like that they don’t overuse the mystery box thing. It gets annoying after a while. And it makes sense Ahsoka would just say it how it is. I’m all for getting some info at this point!
"I've seen what such feelings can do to a fully trained Jedi Knight...to the best of us" Probably my new favorite line in the Mandalorian. Damn that line hurt bad.
There is a reason the expanded universe sold so well and had so many fans. Many of the expanded universe characters and stories deserve to see live action.
How is no one talking about the amazing production design! It was movie quality! And I watched this ep twice because i was so happy to see Ahsoka again! First Katee and now Rosario, wow this crew is doing it so right!
You know, me hearing about Thrawn made me even happier than seeing Ahsoka done well But damn it, Luke and Ahsoka having a heart to heart is even better still.
Technically at the time they never knew what Star Wars was going to become. What Yoda was saying at that time was the truth I terms of the movies. Luke was the last Jedi in the universe. His sister was force sensitive it seems but for the movies wasn’t a Jedi. Since Star Wars has grown from those original movies the comment now means how you’ve put it that semantic wise Luke was the last official Jedi. But he wasn’t the only force user.
Ashoka was a delight in this episode. She was thoughtful and quiet, but not in an awkward way. Behaved very much more grown up but still recognizably herself. Jived well with the overall tone of the Mandalorian and looking forward to hopefully be seeing her down the line as the season goes on.

Agreed. He's the stoic and reserved badass type. Anyone saying he's a boring character isn't paying attention to his performance, and that's because you have to listen to his voice and watch his body language because he can't remove his helmet. Pascal wasn't being professional, but I get hiw he was upset by being the only Mandalorian people are invested in whi can't act with their face in camera. It's petty, but I totally get it.
When Ahsoka said “A Jedi will come to you,” I immediately thought of Cal. If I understand it correctly, Cal’s fate has not been written yet and he could have very easily survived the rest of the Empire’s reign. Why he wouldn’t help the Rebels and Luke stop the empire we’d have to explain away, but seeing him appear in the show would absolutely amazing. Especially after spending so much time with him in Fallen Order.

She's fought against the likes of maul and vader by this point, she should have been better. The Jedi are meant to be OP and could take on huge battalions of soldiers/droids singlehandedly.
I am sooooo glad that they finally gave Baby Yoda a name even though I am with Jeremy in that "old habits do in fact die hard". Still this was a huge game changing episode and yet there is still so much more story to tell. I am stoked for next week because as much as Mando is taking Grogo to this ancient Jedi temple strong in the Force to commune with. Yeah, he could attract another Jedi to take Grogo, but he is taking a huge risk by attracting a certain dark saber wielding Sith that has been hot on his trail so Mando is taking a huge risk going to this temple, but then again that is all he is done ever since he received his marching orders from last season is taking risk after risk after risk all while protecting him. So goes with the territory.
I yelled with excitement multiple times this episode. Dave Filoni is the heir apparent to Star Wars. Frankly, he and Favreau (and those who share their perspective on the direction and tone of Star Wars) are basically the only ones capable of saving the franchise and taking it forward.
I think Thrawn is being set up as the Big Bad for this entire shared universe of the spin-off series. Like... imagine they introduce Thrawn in season 3 and just kill him at the end of it. Who is going to be the big bad in season 4? Who could possibly be more bad-ass than Thrawn? He's the only villain left who's not dead who has the street cred with the fans to be legitimately menacing.
The idea of Luke and Ahsoka sitting down and chatting is definitely a cathartic thing we would all want for both characters. I think about those kinds of "if only" scenes all the time. It would be really cool if the show would do that for us.
Im a massive Ahsoka fan so seeing her in live action made me extremely excited I love this episode so much although one thing i noticed was the things on her head where smaller but I saw like little cuts on there so i wonder if something happened and if so what (you dont need to answer that) also I noticed rosiao (sorry if i spelled her name wrong) sounded nothing like the original ahsoka but im gonna let it slide since she did a fantastic job I loved watching her play ahsoka so overall I think this was amazing definitely one of my favorite episodes from this show

I get why people think that, but Yoda and Yaddle are only two of an entire species. I think it's possible they use more then the letter Y for names. I like how Mando takes a minute to adjust. Well the audience knows there's zero hope for it because Disney decided to make Luke's academy pointless and completely walked back his beliefs in fixing the jedi way by just having him do the exact same shit so it can be a forced tragedy but for Ahsoka it's still hope.

This is the endless issues with canon now
This 40 minutes of Mandalorian >>>> 8 hours of New Trilogy.
@@MarkHogan994 the writing is just sooooo bad. The story too, is just mandolorian doing chores for people.
Completely agree. The new trilogy is completely all over the place with no sense of direction.
Si many buthurt comments lol.
I feel like this show is basically: Mando- “Can you help me?” Stranger- “ok help me first.”
But it's an episodic tale and a western inspired by the works of kurosawa. What else do u expect.

For long time clone wars fans there was a time where she was hated.
Just like Ezra and Sabine were hated now everyone loves them too (although I personally don't like them still ..sorry lmao )
not true i have seen people hate her for being too OP which is so dumb cause it ignores 11-12 years of history with the Ahsoka... Rosario Dawson did great
@@thedisablednerd007 too OP? If anything it's the other way around, i found her quite underpowered and slow in this episode. She literally struggled to fight one woman with a spear (she may have been toying or trying to find an opening to disarm and interrogate but still). She's fought against the likes of maul and vader by this point, she should have been better. The Jedi are meant to be OP and could take on huge battalions of soldiers/droids singlehandedly.
@Valentín Ahsoka was holding back because she needed her alive for information about Thrawn.
That western stand off was a great call back to the Tombstone scene “ I got no quarrel with you holiday(Mandalorian)”.
Shotgun blaster his shotgun from aliens
He was on the wrong end of that too
I’ll be your Huckleberry.
Johnny Ringo!
You look like somebody just walked over your grave.
I watched this episode with my father and it was a non stop of “who’s that” “what’s that” “where’s dark Vader”
Been there done that. There's no point even explaining.
Did he ask "whats the deal with the baby yoda?" Lol
@@conceivebelieveachieve9544 no point
@@TheRolling123 He knew it was baby yoda and Mando those are the only Star Wars characters he remembers
Ah Dark Vader, now there's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.
I yelled with excitement multiple times this episode. Dave Filoni is the heir apparent to Star Wars. Frankly, he and Favreau (and those who share their perspective on the direction and tone of Star Wars) are basically the only ones capable of saving the franchise and taking it forward.
Seeing Jeremy genuinely excited for the future of live-action Star Wars makes me very happy!
I’m not even a Star Wars fan, but somehow I got into Mandalorian and I love it.
@@1LIFEtoWIN Indeed! Such a beaut of a show!
I think Thrawn is gonna be a set up at the end the season for the next season, it's gonna be so dope.
Or a spin off series...
Do you think Lars Mikkelsen will play him? He voiced him in the animations.
@@RoachsFilmReel I'd hope so, it would be perfect. Lars is a fantastic actor.
We might be getting a HEIR OF THE EMPIRE inspired story after all.
A series about live-action Ahsoka hunting down Thrawn would be pretty epic.
My god, to see *THAT* conversation between Ahsoka and Luke would be incredible!
I hope to god that’s on the cards someday.
I like the connectivity fan fiction you came up with. I’d watch that in a heartbeat!
Why is a homeless John wick trying to sell me watches
even homeless respect themself and wear watches ...
Shitty watches might we ad
Seeing Ahsoka in live action was just pure euphoria for me. And that spin-off needs to happen soon coz I need like yesterday
Im a massive Ahsoka fan so seeing her in live action made me extremely excited I love this episode so much although one thing i noticed was the things on her head where smaller but I saw like little cuts on there so i wonder if something happened and if so what (you dont need to answer that) also I noticed rosiao (sorry if i spelled her name wrong) sounded nothing like the original ahsoka but im gonna let it slide since she did a fantastic job I loved watching her play ahsoka so overall I think this was amazing definitely one of my favorite episodes from this show
I lost it when I heard “Grand Admiral Thrawn” I legitimately got goosebumps
Why? He is a completely different character than the one people actually thought was great. If Grand Admiral Thrawn of Legends was an actual character, he would have long conquered the galaxy because Disney Star Wars is filled with nothing but idiotic commanders.
@@Tyrantofthewind It means we have another acknowledgment of Zahn´s trilogy in Disney SW. You know, the one option for the sequels they could have went with but didn´t...
"Grogu", to be honest I was expecting his name is started with the letter "Y". But that's okay, at least we now his name.
Yogu? Yogurt?
I did too but I still like Grogu
"It's over 9000!!!"
@@Psycorde Yogurt for sure, after adventures with Mando he started merchandising "The flame thrower! Kids love these one"
I get why people think that, but Yoda and Yaddle are only two of an entire species. I think it's possible they use more then the letter Y for names.
I like how Mando takes a minute to adjust. He still defaults to "Kid".
I mean the audience still uses Mando more then "Din", despite knowing his name. "Mando" sounds cooler. I don't see "the child" or "Baby Yoda" dying out as something we use for Grogu now that we know his name is Grogu.
I personally felt that learning more information about Baby Yoda actually added to his mystery. I don’t know for the last few episodes I’ve been feeling like he’s been a bit of the “token cute thing” and now we get more depth to him. Answers to some questions but it’s the kind that brought up more questions.
