- In this video I review the Antepes Muscle Runner, which may be the best pair of running shoes on the market for sprinting and running fast. With their unique design, you can achieve a feeling similar to spikes, with more cushion and flexibility to help keep you injury free.

It blows my mind that no other shoe company has figured out to make a training shoe for sprinters. Antepes needs to market themselves as such
I agree!
Totally agree!
I would love to see shoes like this with a wider footshaped toe box as well
mizuno wave duel pro is something similar.
@@frankfornestig9895 I know it doesn't look like it but I have found the toebox actually pretty wide/well shaped coming from sprinting in altra escalante racers.
@@frankfornestig9895yes - interested in these because I’ve tried several times to diy the same concept for myself. Want to try these but worried about the toebox- Cody could you give your thoughts on the toebox?
Thank you for putting us on to this!
Thank you for the honest review and the tips to introduce new shoes into the training!
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching
I like this, Cody. Thanks for sharing!
Give the "altra escalante racer" a try. They are natural running type, love them for tempo work and even plyo and strengthwork. Added benefit of wide toe box, no real heel cup, zero drop, superlightweight, and some light cushioning.
I would put them in between the ones you presented and the classics.
One question; whats the toe box width?
Nice tips.
Been waiting for a shoe like this that resembles a track spike just without the spike plate. No other running shoe has come close to doing the job as well as the Nike Pegasus Turbo 2. Interested to see if other big shoe brands will begin to make something similar to these. Gonna check em out once my current trainers give out on me.
So Nike Pegasus are better than these? Nike heels look big though?
@@laughingbird never used these. I currently use the Pegasus 39 and I don't like them, bur the Pegasus Turbo 2 is an older model that they stopped making that myself and many others did like a lot
Thank you these sound dope
Hello brother, i have a question
After a sprint day, if i felt good and no real soreness can i go lift weight in the gym? Nothing that's too intense, just RDL OHP and some calf raises?
About the video, im still wearing my old Nike free 3.0 v2 i got from thrift shop(i tried many, this feel the best for sprint) . The ground feel is amazing and very light
Hey man do you think the SL duramo s are good for sprinting
Looks good
How are they for multi directional plyos like line hops etc?
Superfly wears us8.5, is this pair okay for wearing us8.5?
It it much stiffer than standard running shoes?
Ok that's it. I'm sold!
Do they run true to size or a little small or large?
I would say they have slightly more room than other shoes in my normal size, but I wouldn't say they're too big. The length fits well but the toe box is wide, so I'd either get your normal size or a half size down if you're often in between sizes when you try on shoes.
Is the toe-heel sole thickness difference on these shoes really 10mm? (i.e. the forefoot sole is 10mm thicker than the heel sole?)
That just seems kind of excessive. I would think something like a 2-4mm heel-toe gain would be more reasonable.
Sprinting in long distance racing shoes isn't compromised much if at all by the chunky heel, in fact these types of racers are designed for forefoot strike. The Hoka Rocket X2s are as much as 2 oz lighter than these 'Muscle runners' and there is a sweet spot in the forefoot that provides an amazing amount of response with the Peba foam and carbon plate. Also, extremely protective for a masters sprinter like myself. Truly a revolutionary shoe.
Damn, I bought immediately
They’re a great shoe! Haven’t found anything else like it out there.
we need wide toebox running for stronger feet but good shoe
Quite wide on this one, maybe that’s why my feet got sore initially.
I forgot to ask, but another person who wore these said they gave an awesome calf pump. Did you feel a good calf pump with these?
If you run far, totally. They hit the calves like no other shoe I’ve worn, including spikes.
Hows the fit compared to like maxfly' or superfly's?
A little more space, especially in the toe box and for the width of your foot.
Does it give you a good bounce???
Wonder if these are better than Nikes Pegasus.. probably is
What about multi direction use? Like playing basketball.
I’d probably use a more traditional shoe for that. You need good stability in basketball imo
Didn't watch all the video yet so I apologize if you mention this -- but do you feel like they grow the calves like the company claims?
Idk if they’ll grow as in get bigger, but my calves got fried the first time I used the shoes.
Now they feel stronger and better at handling sprinting & plyos, which tells me using the shoes has helped develop the calves from a performance perspective.
isnt carbon bad for training though
Bad for speed work?
How would you say these would be on a wide foot?
They've got a lot of room in the toe box and a flexible upper. Good for wide feet
What is weight? Are they as light as spikes?
They’re 9oz, so pretty light but not as light as something like the Adidas SP2.
Or the Nike Streakfly (6oz)
