Best Low Stack Super Shoes | Top 5k / 10k Road Running Racing Flats
I can vouch heavily for the sinister. Nothing out there as light as this that’s not a track spike. It has an old-school feel without a plate, but for workouts it’s such a breath of fresh air for those who’s rotation is filled with high-stack shoes such as myself. The big game changer is the foam as in years past the construction would’ve left it with nothing underfoot to protect your feet and legs. With this I can do my workouts and feel the snappy response but also be cushioned enough for the cool down run back home.
Does it still have the speed roll technology?
Finally, someone has discovered that the height of the Takumi's midsole is perfect for a half-marathon as well.
This spring, I ran 2 half marathons 3 weeks apart: the first in the Adios Pro, the second - 20 seconds faster - in the Takumi Sen.
Totally agree. While not max stack, the Takumi has a lighter speedier feel while still having sufficient cushioning for the half distance. -Connor

What about Altras ? Escalante racer ? Ive been wanting to try that shoe out. If anybody has tried the shoe out let me know what yall think about them
No way can I run a short fast race in zero drop shoes, but of the Altras I've used (I used to use a lot of them) the Escalante Racer is by far the best Altra, hands down.
Altra hasn't really updated that shoe much in the last 4-5 years, so it's not the conversation with these. It still uses old school EVA foam, whereas these modern shoes use TPE or PEBA, which are bouncier / springier.
@@tsubakichan uhhhh I'm pretty sure it's actually TPU? Not saying it's "super foam" but it's certainly one of the better foams Altra has come out with. Great rebound and durability. And it isn't simply the exact same formulation across their range... Ego in the Racers is much different than in the base Escalante.
@@JaySizz I stand corrected. But dunno why they call it the same as their regular foam if it's different. The Vanish Carbon at least has "EGO Pro"
Escalante racer is an amazing shoe. Quite unique actually. Ultra breathable and as pure of a ride as you will get from a regular shoe (not minimalist but close)

I love the NB SC Pacer, but those thin slippery spaghetti shoe laces are awful and I am replacing them.

why do these two look so off :D
i vouch for using streakfly in cross country. i had an injury in my foot during track that has happened in consecutive seasons due to reintegrating spikes back into races, so i’ve been using streakfly for cross instead. track season starts here soon and hoping i’ve strengthened up a lot more to wear spikes
It's seen quite a bit here in California where spikes are banned for high school XC. For the majority of California courses, it works really well! -Connor
is the streakfly stable enough for daily wear? the side seems very soft, too soft maybe. will it hurt my ankle
With the max legal stack for distance races on the track being 25mm, I'm waiting to see how many shoes become offered at that height. I've raced on the track in Skechers GoMeb-6, which are legal! That would be an excellent track shoe if it had a horseshoe 4-spike plate.

Would you say that any of these are better than the Skechers Speed Elite Hyper?
Which shoe is best will really come down to individual preferences but the Speed Elite was not included on this list as its now a discontinued model. I did enjoy the speed elite when it was available and would say it felt similiar to a blend of a Streakfly and a Sinisiter. -Connor
@@runningwarehouse thank you Connor! That's what I needed to know. I still get brand new pairs from skechers of the speed elite (brand ambassador/athlete for them) and I love racing it. But I was curious if it is worth investing in something newer. I'm gonna stick with the Speed Elite for now. Thanks again.
