Every single car should be reviewed like this.
I wish someone do that with European cars
Indeed!! Great job
So many reviews that are all fluff. This is a true expert review.
@@kenneth801 Sadly style beats substance when it comes to you-tube vids. This channel substance.
This channel provides many useful info. My only gripes is when this pretends to be an engineer which is way out of his depth
Car Care Nut has raised vehicle reviewing to an absolute art form.HIs forensic style of reviewing makes me watch reviews of vehicles that I have absolutely no intention of buying or could possibly afford!
Except he didn't do his homework and got a lot of it wrong.
@@jhr2112I doubt it.
Same with me.🙏
Nothing is more satisfying then having someone not dumb down car tech and explain it as an enthusiast for enthusiasts. Great work.
You should be a teacher. You really know how to explain things even if they are complex.
Complexity is something I heard a lot during this video. Knowing the quality of Jeep, I can imagine the 5 year cost will be tremendous. Good luck to anyone who buys this thing.
No issues yet, owner of the 2021 4xe. Just been doing regular maintenance. Running 37s and all the necessary upgrades to support them 😁
keep up with maintenance and most jeeps are fine and excel at what they were made for. the real issue (imo) with stellantis products is electronics doing weird stuff or failing as the vehicles age.
@@psd.3144 That's fair, but that's with any vehicle as well. I'll prolly do an engine swap from America Most Wanted once they come out with an engine that will be compatible. But that's way down the road 😁
I've had my 2020 Rubicon for 4 years come Feb and the only maintenance items ive had have been me changing my oil every 5k miles with synthetic and changing my gear oil. Maintenance isnt hard on these. I have however, spent over 30k on top of a 60k Jeep with tires, lift, wheels, full skid plates, RCV axles, onboard air system, rock sliders, winch, dual battery system, power management system, lights, new hard top, rhino rack, RTT tent, full camp kitchen, communication system, and others. I do use mine for thing you'd only get to see on youtube, but I do take care of it.
Guess I misspoke. After 4-5 years or after warranty, then the problems will happen. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good jeep but they are not meant to keep long term unless you can fix it regularly or have enough money to get it fixed. It’s like a Benz or BMW….LOVE them, but lease or buy and sell it within warranty and you’re good.
I work in a CDJR dealership and 95 percent of the Jeeps I sell goes to familys and never going to see dirt. That's the true with the buyers of Wranglers. They're just cool!
He doesn't hold back his criticism of any vehicles. You get his honest opinion & that is what I really like about this channel. Plus all the mechanical details laid out.
Indeed, this is a proper and useful car review.
This is one of the best technical overviews of the 4xe plug in hybrid system I've seen so far- However.... the battery is actually inside the passenger cabin under the rear seat where it is easier to control it's temperature and is more protected from offroad trail damage. The skid plate underneath the jeep on the driver side that you pointed out covers the Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM) and the Power Inverter Module (PIM).
So many other car review channels seem to focus on interior/exterior design. They might pop the hood and tell you the torque, HP, and fuel economy figures (which you can easily find yourself), but *very* rarely do they spend this much time (even under the car!) discussing the build quality of individual components within the powertrain, suspension, exhaust etc.
I’m not a car enthusiast, and so have to admit that occasionally some of it goes a little over my head, but it has prompted me to do further research, which I appreciate. These videos can probably help one become a better consumer and could almost be considered required viewing for those in the market for a new car. Thanks for what you do!
As an amateur car technician, this info in this channel is invaluable
That's because this reviewer is an automobile mechanic.
I found your channel, you are great, I love to see people in the trades nerdy and enthusiastic about their occupation. Thank you, I hope the manufacturers are listening.
You are a TRUE mechanic. Your review of this car is so so clear and in details like me being in a class room. Please do same for many other cars.
This has to be one of if not the best car/truck/suv review I have EVER seen. FANTASTIC job. Very informative with no crap inbetween. SUBBED!
Best car review channel. Car ownership and selection is more than how shiny the paint is or design language. Great work as always!
This is the best most detailed review I have ever seen. Keep up the great work. Love your channel
Exceptional review! This was the third of your reviews I've seen over the last couple of years. While watching the first ten minutes of this review I pressed the "Subscribe" button. I'm quite the focused person, so I'm not interested in watching reviews of cars or trucks I'd not consider buying. But a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, even a hybrid one, I just can't resist watching these reviews. Frankly speaking, yours is the best Jeep Wrangler review I've ever seen. So very well done! Thank you very much! Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.
AMD always shares/knows more than even Jeep guys on TH-cam. Well done!
I don’t know a lot about cars let alone a Jeep. I love how you’ve manage to explain things very clearly and pass on informations neutrally with professional perspective. Great video!
This is one of the best reviews I’ve ever watched. 11/10.
I can’t believed I just watched a 40:39 car review video, but it was that good ! Great job.
I would love to see a Car Care Nut review of the new Bronco as well. I've heard their quality is not great, it would be neat to see compared to the Jeep Wrangler
Love your honest review. I just received my 2024 Rubicon Xtreme with 35” tires and 4.88 gearing. I absolutely love it! I love going off the grid!
Exceptional review. Thank you! You correctly pointed out the single most important concern. A complex arrangement under the hood and questionable Jeep reliability. That's a world apart from older, simpler Jeeps.
Peeling off the doors and folding the windshield was probably fun in the days where it was designed to literally be hosed-out. Just imagine having it rain on all those electronics inside in your $80K Jeep.
I don't get the electric windows.
There is no problem if it rains all over this Jeep, you can hose the whole interior down with a garden hose, including power seats and the 12.5 inch display. I am not joking as I own a 2018 and a 2024 JL wranglers.
@@DZ-cm5xw I'm sure those nice leather seats & infotainment center will be just fine hosing down everything ! I keep hearing mud is good for the skin. Afterall its a Jeep. Reliability not high on Jeep's list. TCCN is telling it & making sure you understand this. Hybrid system design looks really functional though. The proof will be putting it to the tests. Always loved the fact you can take them just about anywhere. My brother in law had to find the deepest mud he could find & it was too deep. No trees close by to winch out. So he had to call a tow truck to get him out. Had a blast in the sand dunes of Indiana riding in the back.
@@DZ-cm5xwYou must have not paid attention in school, particularly electronics and electrical theory and the jeeps you own is likely your wet dream. No offense...
Imagine paying 80k for this box pile. Jeep has become such a fashion statement these days, with people hardly using them for their intended purpose. Hats off to those that do, but man for 80k I can think of many other vehicles I’d own, none Chrysler products that’s for sure.
Absolutely outstanding presentation. I ordered one and have owned many Jeeps and a Jeep is a Jeep! Thank you for your work.
One of the best vehicle reviews on the tube! Thank you for all this great info. Picking mine up tomorrow so this info was all quite helpful and reaffirming. Thank you!
I own a Toyota and a Lexus but for fun…I love my 2016 Wrangler. A sunny day or a good snow…love the Jeep!
Has the jeep been reliable?
Awesome review! Very detailed and you really know your stuff! This is how in depth car reviews should be done.
I love this car reviews because you know ahead of time what good or bad cars you will be getting in to it.
FYI...my 07 Jk Rubicon went 14 years without breaking down (that is built, HC offroad all over,). My son was 5 when we bought it. So a great family hauler. My 21 4XE, 3 times to dealer so far.....
You bought a FIAT bro…
3 times is not that bad. Of course, also depends on what the visits involved????
Good to know! Maybe I should look at an older model and not a new one.
and a Daimler in 2007.
@jackies35 Anything after 2014 is fiat, but I've seen quite a few wrangler 2019 with 120k miles.
The best ever review I've ever seen in my entire life!
And that ladies and gentlemen, is how a car review is done...!!! Great Job..!!
Thank you! Owning a lot of Toyotas a few Ford trucks and many other brands throughout my life I’ve always wanted a JEEP. I was a mechanic in the army in the 70s. The new jeeps obviously are much more safe than those jeeps were. When I could no longer ride my motorcycle I decided to sell it and Trade in my car and buy a soft top two-door JL wrangler 2024. It is so fun! I do worry about reliability but I also purchased a seven year unlimited mileage Mopar warranty. Actually I would do that with any car nowadays because just replacing your nice screen is gonna cost you big bucks. At any rate I always enjoy your videos and thank you for taking the time to do such a thorough job. Making videos itself is hard work and there is no doubt you are one hell of a hard worker!
This past severe blizzard I was out having fun in the roads and even was giving rides to a Postal Service worker. I do have many many miles as a professional driver with semi, city bus, and other things. Driving is my passion but not fast driving being able to go through anything driving!
I wish you much continued success!
Translation: this is a future money pit. Great review.👍
😎This is The ONE review we were waiting for. Thanks.
Your unique approach and details 🧐is unmatched and welcome.👀
Tell us about The Good, the Bad and the Rest.👏
I bought a 2024 Rubicon Xtreme 35 inch tire package and it’s absolutely AWESOME!!!
Another first class review, the best and most understandable
This thing is a mechanics dream! There's soooooo much here to fix and work on.
As someone who’s taken jeeps far far off the grid and had things happen along the road, I’d be terrified to take a jeep with so many things to go wrong on an official pad trail.
Still this makes for a cool city driver in a place that gets both sunshine and snow.
Have one. Take it through Johnson OHV Park, Rubicon and MOAB. It's pretty dang good. Just doesn't break. But we'll see as it ages
@@connoransberry6335i have a 2015 JKUR the pentastar is a great engine once you get the technical bulletin repaired. Got mine done at at 150K miles.
Take it to moab and all over Idaho, Utah, Colorado. Dorman and Baxter have some great parts to help prevent dry start. Which is the root cause of why the technical bulletin exists. She is a great beast and would buy another (i would just upgrade what I know makes the engine last the longest)
All Jeeps are junk
@@mocheeks709Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that is not my experience having owned Jeeps for the last 23 years and currently own two. I replaced one ABS sensor in those 23 years…that’s it.
@@damianbartkus well he did say reliability is not on Jeeps priority list, I owned a Jeep once, worst piece of crap I ever owned, do you ever take yours out of the driveway 😁
I watch all your reviews and all your videos on different toyota and lexus engines. I love the series on your LS. You have the knowledge, experience, patience and love of what you do. I really appreciate everything I've learned from you. Keep doing great videos!! Will continue to watch. I know you do reviews on mostly toyotas and lexus and mazda. I am looking to buy the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. If you get your hands in one and can make a review, it will really make me know if I should buy it or not. Thanks, be God be with you, always.
Look at the recalls, customer feedback boards, and overall issues to make a sound decision.
Did not think I could hate the 4xe any more than I already do..Boy, was I wrong
This is a really detailed easy to understand review, great job!
I have seen these 3 coolant bottles in dozens of Jeep PHEVs reviews and NONE had explained why they were there and how they interacted or functioned, except for You. I am guessing now, they didn’t know nor understand this complicated engine. When I was looking to buy a Jeep earlier this year , looking at this 3 bottle setup, scared me, along with the sales folks having not a clue, so I stayed with an I.C.E. JGCSR. It looked way too expensive after the warranty is over….and Yes, IMO, I thought the U-Connect 4 was good, but the 5 is unreal. Thanks for this layman’s simplified explanation. Awesome review. Subbed on this one.
I had a 2019 Rubicon, traded it in for a GX460, I had engine Electical problems. Called 4 jeep dealers in my area, they all said it was a 4 weeks wait time to get an appointment. When I finally got in, drop the jeep off 8am Monday morning, Tuesday,Wednesday Thursday Friday, I called every day. No update bc no one looked at the jeep yet. After about a 1-1/2 weeks in I said I’ll just pick up my jeep. Customer service = trash.
I absolutely LOVE these videos on should you buy. ❤
I grabbed the 2024 Rubicon X and I'm very happy. The one-touch soft top is awesome. This is probably my 25th Jeep... I've had so many. I'll keep this one awhile
Any leaks at all with the one touch soft top? I want to buy one but read some people are having leaking issues.
@@OceanSwimmer201 no issues at all. I take it through the local car wash weekly. My 2021 Jeep leaked from the front panels. Besides, it’s under warranty so if it does leak, I’ll have the dealer look at it
I just watched this 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon review for a second time. This was several months or longer after the first time I watched this. I'll repeat what I wrote before: This video is, by far, the best Jeep Wrangler JL review I've ever seen. Keep making reviews as good as this one, and you'll virtually eliminate the need for the "automotive press." As a 2012 Jeep Wranlger Unlimited "JK" owner, I greatly agree with and appreciate your review of this 2024 Jeep Gladiator. Do I have any differences with what you said? Absolute none! You ARE the expert! Thank you very much! I love my Rubicon and I love Jeep Wranglers as daily drivers here in Hawaii. But I'd never, repeat never, consider driving a Jeep Wrangler on a coast-to-coast highway trip as I've done numerous times in a Buick Enclave. You make the points about a Jeep Wrangler as a daily driver for a family far better than I can. Andrew McKane, 8 March 2024, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.
This what I call it a “ GOOD DAMN GOOD REVIEW”
You got a new subscriber just because you are an AIC fan..
Great reviews as always. Thank you.
The car care nut is so good and he’s a great mechanic also so he knows and I like how he praises the set up of the live axel as being the proper set up for off roading, not fancy independent systems on other supposedly off readers. He says it all , and I do believe I read they are planning a all electric in the future . And maybe they’ll give the next model a little bigger engine 2.2 , 2.5 something that is not maxed out! Love it nice review . I want one actually my wife wants one in lime yellow!
You are the best car reviewer on TH-cam hands down. I have this 2.0T in my wrangler but I don’t have the 4xe. While it does have noisy injectors that make it sound like a diesel I have to disagree about the engine being overworked because I am almost always cruising around under 1500 rpms. The 2.0 feels super powerful in the wrangler. I think that heavy battery and hybrid setup in the 4xe is probably what is making it feel more labored.
I think you get a point there.
When I drive my 2024 4xe Wrangler on its 2.0T only, it also runs around 1500 rpm without the electric motor. But it is noisy and gives the feeling of working really hard.
@@DZ-cm5xw it weights about 1100 lbs more, plus many of the driving components are upgraded to heavy duty ones.
@@humorss
Yes the 4xe is 1100 lbs heavier but the average MPG for the 2.0T is 20 MPG, while the gas only 2.0T is 21 MPG, the difference is very small. I think it is due to the boxy shape of the vehicle.
Sucker! You bought a direct injection only engine!!!! LOL. SUCKER
Excelent review, complete and clear on any aspect..!
Nice review and very explained of complicated engine.
I still have my beloved 2 doors Sahara from 2014 with a 2.8 turbo diesel that runs great.
I wonder if this one will still run in 10 years from now.
These are popular here in Europe but most are rentals .
I drove one the 6.4 hemis in the Wrangler and it is a beast!Very fast! The one I drove was a 2022 I believe
Brad, another great video. Alaska sounds great! Sign me up.
You are absolutely awesome . Best in depth . Keep in going buddy and hey can you review also Audi's like S3 thank you 😊
This is an excellent video review for the evaluation of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Hybrid Plug-in vehicle 🚜. You did an excellent job in this thorough examination. This is why I'm not getting this 4xe as I am content with the gas aspirated Wrangler with the 2.0L Hurricane 🌀 Turbo Engine. This engine has good fuel estimated per gallon. This still provides power for daily driving and off-road use.
I love you reviewing other cars than just Toyota thanks for the content
Thanks! Love the reviews! Can you review the Ford Transit high roof and the Mercedes Sprinter high roof? Vanlifers are trying to figure out which one to build out.
Love and appreciate your channel thank you.
Great review. Thanks for all you do.

@@Wrangzilla Give it time skippy. You'll be opening that wallet even further to throw your money away.
It’s the highest resale vehicle. If it was as unreliable and expensive wouldn’t it still be the most wanted vehicle?
@@kjm8135 this is true. It is unexpected but the wrangler's resale is better than the tacoma and 4runner.
Mine is 2 years old now, and so far, zero issues.
Good job! (except for the position of the 400 volts batterie, it's not under the Jeep but inside the Jeep, under the back seats) Very interesting!
Great review! I'm on my third Jeep wrangler. Just V6 Sport models. They have been extremely reliable and fun to drive anywhere! My 2020 sport has had nothing done to it besides oil and tire changes after 62,000 miles.
Prices are nuts. 20 years ago I bought my first HOUSE for 86,000. Geez
You can thank the federal reserve for that
I'll stick with a manual and the 3.6. thought about a 4xe and then was like na screw that, it will break all the time.
Thanks AMD, great review as always... would love to see a review of the Chevy Tahoe/Yukon Denali if you can get your hands on one, always been curious to see what you think of those SUVs.
Thank you car care nut! From reviews I've seen, certain models of Ford Bronco can give this Jeep strong competition off road.
Thanks for being honest as possible.
I really love the quality of this video :D
You should be watch this channel before buying a car. Great in depth review!
Will be looking forward to you reviewing the new Tacoma and Land cruiser !!
Just a thank you. Always a good review.
Love that white Toyota Prius in the background. Why? Because it’s ours :). Thanks Ahmed, great review!
Thanks for the review!
3 cooling systems full of plastic parts
👍👍👍
Jeep service departments are going to be making BANK because of the 4xe system fail points
NIGHTMARE
I recently saw a truck that I had never heard of, the Rivian R1T, totally electric. I'm not in the market for any of the all electric cars but I watched a couple youtube videos / reviews and was impressed. They're not cheap, well equipped around 100k.
There is a dealer not far from you in Chicago, maybe they will let you review one. A definite competor to the Tesla truck.
AMD, please start adding a road test portion to your reviews. Love your reviews, but really would like to see a road test portion added in.
I’ve watched the whole 41 mins video - great !
Your a popular man 😁I love all your reviews
Excellent review. This Jeep hybrid system is to so complicated and so involved that Im not going anywhere near it when I buy my next 4by.
Can't wait for him to get his hands on a new land cruiser in the future
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I’d go with the 392. That 6.4 is amazing
Jeep is killing the ozone layer one vehicle at a time..my CJ5 had just over 100 hp and it went everywhere 😊
Helps it tip over faster😂
It should be for the $ in all fairness
U cant really go wrong with any engine options here, except the 4xe model, the ev range is very poor at only 20 miles
@@BigAltimaEnergy719 eh, it will get you back to the dealer for repairs, that’s what its for😂
Thanks for this review.
Great Review mate ......very well done sir....I got 22 JLRU Xtreeme Recon edition with 2.0L T only , and have to say it moves very quick not working hard at all ....yes the Direct Injection and cold starts are noisey :) but its very lively motor getting 20-21 MPGs with the 35's and 4.56 gears ( that helps i bet) .....so far so good but in my opinion the 4XE and the weight added plus complicated hybrid system makes this work harder and not as smooth as the non hybrid ....just my thoughts .
Great review, this is my 4th Jeep. I traded my 2014 Grand Cherokee for this. The gas engine gets typical crap CJ/Wrangler mileage. But 4 cyc is great for faster winding up and off roading. I had the 2.5 in my Comanche only beat by the 4.0 in my TJ. I gave up some comfort for that electric range and I hope it does wind up saving gas. Also great that I could get cloth seats and not slide around while driving.
Thanks for the video good information
Please do more reviews like this!
Now, this is a vehicle review!
While many wannabe car reviewers only talk about how high the ground clearance is, how many horse power, how many cup holders, and how many lockers the vehicle has, AMD gives you the important technical and real world need to know facts. 👍
Owned a 2021 Rubicon 4XE for nine months, broken for seven of those. I believe there is yet another serious recall on them.
i was seriously considering buying the 2023 4xe, until i read and researched the nightmare of owning it, and immediately bought a 2023 lexus nx350h awd.
Love our new Wrangler. Great gobs of fun.
0:00:15 1:28 I’m always happy to love & hype your vibes & vibes sir. Lovely content. Straight and honest, opinions and facts. Very great info.
Excellent technical review , thank you. The complexity of the drivetrain screams off the shelf Frankenstein car building … adding so many failure points … run away before the warranty expires !!!
It's a starter generator we use those in aircraft to start the engines , and gas been very effective witch is probably why they went that route
Jeeps iconic electric steering noise, my dads 2013 dodge Durango even had that noise
I really enjoyed your reviews of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (gas 3.6L Pentastar) and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4Xe. I would really like to see your review of the Jeep Gladiator, especially as it compares to and differs from the Wrangler. If I could have my wish, your review would cover a Gladiator with the 3.0L EcoDiesel (which was discontinued for 2024), especially in light of what you had to say about the 4Xe powertrain.
This is terrific. Thank u!
You mention the G wagen you should check out the Ineos Grenadier the Trialmaster is very similar to a Rubicon with factory lockers and a BMW drivetrain. Would love to see you do a review of it.
Great review! Always enjoy your reviews 👍
Great review as usual. As a side note, Wranglers have one of the best depreciation figures of an amazing 9% loss over 5 years.
Subscribed. Awesome. Thank you
