In Florida we dig a hole in the ground, erect heavy structural plastic walls and dry cement the floor and install a vinyl liner. My pool has lasted 24 years, though liner are replaced every 12 years. This work shown here is wonderful, but seems to be a bit overkill in my opinion.

This was over the top...what a massive effort to build such a small pool.. Its construction I can assume allows the structure to not have to worry about lifting out as is the case with dug re-bar reinforced gunite pools. Was this build in Iceland or something like that?

In France, pool installers often wait about a year before laying the terrace around the pool. Allowing the soil to settle during different seasons helps prevent issues like slab movement. This patient approach pays off in the long run, avoiding the need for later adjustments.

Agreed, this in fact looks like a fiberglass pool (I had one installed myself this year) and for that a lot of the foundation and surrounding structure looks completely like wasted time/money. Plus all the water emptying/cleaning the builder does could have been easily done by a modern pool cleaning robot (which the pool owner should get anyway, they save a lot of time and energy)

  • @richarddye9170

Very nice, but pool installers here in France tend not to lay down the terrace/deck surrounding the pool for a year or so to give the disturbed earth time to settle. Doing it too early can result in the slabs moving and becoming uneven. Allowing a few seasons of dry and wet weather to pass could pay off in the long run and avoid having to lift and reset the slabs.

totally amazing what vision, what quality what foresight, and perfect user of space and sure maintenance will be a breeze. It will always be pristine. lucky owners to find a contractor like this, or was it the owner?

Incredibly labor intensive and the attention to detail was unmatched. Loved the look of it, but it has to be expensive. A departure of what I've seen. Sand and gravel filters still in existence? They didn't compare to the filter ones I serviced.

Man I had a pool once and I have to say it’s a lot of maintenance. This guy is good he doesn’t have any trees in his yard

Thanks for posting. My question is this pool isn't sloped for drainage, flat bottom seems like a challenge for cleaning and maintenance.

So no indication as to how long the construction took from start to finish, or did I overlook it somewhere? Beautiful by the way, very impressed as to how clean the workers were.

Interesting - what about support for the house sitting on the land next to a massive hole? Does that mean that the pool itself is now supporting that land?

Geez, you really did a time lapse of every single Second of building your beautiful pool. At the beginning I thought it was going to be too small but that was just the illusion of seeing it placed in the ground before any of the other work was done. I'm curious as to what year and where this wass built and yes, I'll also ask about how many dollars where required to construct it.

Very professional, clean, and meticulous work. Those "L Bricks" are interesting. Never saw those before. I have a hard time thinking this is cost effective compared to gunite pools. The pool is pretty small for swimming. A continuous pool would make more sense in a small space.
