Beautiful workmanship. I like the comment sentiment about better communities. In Canada we have a dictators at multiple levels of government who want to destroy that starting with the middle class. It's time to vote them out Canada.
Roof insulation is wrong. Should be above the decking, not between the rafters. Unless the space above the insulation and below the decking is adequately ventilated, you will have condensation problems
It’s wonderfully done. Small spaces need to be thought out and carefully decorated to maximize living space without feeling cluttered. This place did that beautifully.
What is this obsession with clutter, with you people now-a-days. Warmth, coziness and charm you people call clutter. Trust me, I'd take that any day, to a damn, white, empty, shell of a place.
There was so much video of the demo and rebuild to only see so little of the final product. Maybe next time you show more of the final work. Let us enjoy your beautiful work.
It's not too hard to gain the knowledge to do this work, but the financial part of it is just out of reach for so many. I bought my first home in 2016, very cheap it is an older home that needs work. But man, financially with our economy like it is right now, any remolding is a dream. I managed a new roof, but I have an extended part of the home that is lower, (two story) and couldn't afford to do the lower roof yet. There is alot of damage just from that alone. It is nice to see that there are some out there who are doing what I did in finding a home that needs work and actually getting to do the work though. Good luck, it turned out really beautiful.
I agree with others in these comments - huge mistake to remove that beautiful old skylight. Leaving at least some of the exposed brick would have been better too. Allowing a place like this to show it's age and working with what is already there connects it to the city it is in and it's history. Renovating all of that away - it could be anywhere in any new development in any city. But - very impressive transformation.
Loved this...tiny, but great for a single person or a student away from home or a limited bnb vacation home to rent out. Can't see anyone actually living here for any extended period of time given it's totally cramped feeling. I'd have kept the wide sunroof as a key fixture to the past. It was beautiful. Sad it was taken out. Missed opportunity even if refurbished with some wonderful stained glass from a passed era. Would have added to the value of the place. Also sad we didn't get a final view of the upstairs patio. You put so much work into sealing it, yet you didn't show it completed and finally furnished. So much potential and would have laid some lightweight, weatherproof mosaic tiles to give it character. You guys came so far, but just a wee bit short from a viewer perspective.

Well done, but because they make the skylight much smaller, they should paint the walls in lighter colors so it looks bigger. Beige, gray or grayish, cream would be much better. The door to the bathroom should stay white outside and inside if they painted green wall. Thats just me. But it came out pretty good.
What an amazing transformation and the colour throughout is absolutely beautiful but I wanted the see the roof finished and wondered if there’s outdoor seating up there? I laughed at the women sat eating crisps watching the men work 🤣 First class workmanship! 👏👏

When I saw them doing the framing underneath, I got excited, thinking YAY, great idea...they're putting in a shelf level underneath. Would be a fantastic, unique place to put plants, herbs hanging down for the kitchen, cookbooks, specialty and decorative cookware (that one doesn't use everyday). Such a missed opportunity to use such a great space.
Very nice rebuild, but with the stairs coming down to the front door unless there is a super drainage system those stairs are going to act like a funnel and bring tons of water into that front door. Also, the lack of windows would drive me crazy. If it were me, I would have mounted a window sized flat screen televisions into several places in the wall where there might be a window. The TV's would have been thin enough to fit into the wall and they could have been framed to look like windows. Then I would have programmed them to display an outside scene, or even an aquarium. Flat screen televisions can be mounted vertically and are very inexpensive. A usb stick could have been plugged in to give either the same or different outside scenes. It would have been interesting to know in what city this construction occurred, because it was definitely not the U.S.

Gotta love how his wife just sits there watching him work, just jabbering and staring at her phone. Just more of that "waiting at the finish line for the winner" mentality.
That would make a GREAT bachelor pad. Unfortunately with the addition of a female cohabitation/recreational unit, all that work will be for naught when she decides to multiply...and he will have no say in it.

For a basement apartment already being dark, I felt the same. I would have chosen lighter colours but I also have white walls in my home and light coloured interior. I get my "splash" of colour from my paintings and pillows etc. 🙂
Agreed - I really dislike the "black, navy, dark gray, dark brown" choice for kitchen cabinetry. Keep it light in a basement or even a dark, ground level apartment!

When I saw all of the dampness on the walls, and the horrible ceiling and roof, I wondered why you even started this project. When you finished the roof, I actually felt relief. Great work but why not put in a granite countertop? Can get deals on remnant pieces for a counter that small. Wood gets scratched up easily and is a fire hazard.
My favorite part of this renovation is...This crew is so thorough and professional, that I didn't see one drop of paint on their clothes. Lol! Good job.
A superb job! Colours are personal preference but kitchen could have been a little lighter. It would be nice to know how much was spend to complete the whole project, including all the roofing materials. That was a mammoth job. Well done on an impressive transformation.

I didn't like two things - they repeated a very low ceiling level which I would try to increase as much as it is possible, I would restore the large roof window (I liked it very much). I also didn't like how crew cut the space to a small dark rooms and the choice of dull beige (yellowish) colors. This is not my favorite transformation in terms of the design. Other than that, I am glad that they cleaned this dump place.
Absolutely. Lighthouse on the roof had its purpose and opened up the space. That was the greatest feature. Also not a fan of flat roofs. Never stands the test of time well, especially in wet climate conditions

Gorgeous! Love the attention to detail! 😃
Those men changed the bottomless pit into a heavenish life center. Great job.
Great work but why not put in a granite countertop? Can get deals on remnant pieces for a counter that small. Wood gets scratched up easily and is a fire hazard.
No hay ventanas? Solo el agujero de techo? Es claustrofóbico para mi. Aunque es muy bonito
Bitirdikten sonra evin yeni halini gösterin, nasıl oldu ev?
My favorite part is how the women sit there watching as the men do all the work.
Yeah, cos I'm sho watching 👀 🍿

So Bountiful ❣️
It’s called supervising 😂😂😂
My favorite part of this renovation is...This crew is so thorough and professional, that I didn't see one drop of paint on their clothes. Lol! Good job.
Well-done and nice job. Respect!
A superb job! Colours are personal preference but kitchen could have been a little lighter. It would be nice to know how much was spend to complete the whole project, including all the roofing materials. That was a mammoth job. Well done on an impressive transformation.
Couldn't live there! No windows really! it's like a basement! But great great work!
The greatest transformation of all time, great job contractors. Look forward to more transformations.

NYC is going to be seeing this a lot very soon with these people practically destroying the hotels they've been living in.
And as usual, the women just sit and watch. Real nice.
I really admire people who work hard and are creative. Watching the video I found great entertainment

Fantastic wonderful job!
Thank you! 🙏
Love the look! Lots of hard work. How about floating shelves in the kitchen? Love the color on the walls.....soothing yet masculine.
Putin is an angel the ensured Trump's presidency. We just love the Soviet Union. Or is it Russia again already?
@@gregpendrey6711
Looks amazing 😍 👍
....:) Wow-Wee...!!!....Excellent Job---Your Team is Amazing for Sure...!!!!......:)....🥰
OUH LA !!! Quel boulot !
Beautiful work, great craftsmanship
I like the window for extra natural light
One of the best renovations I've ever seen fantastic
I didn't like two things - they repeated a very low ceiling level which I would try to increase as much as it is possible, I would restore the large roof window (I liked it very much). I also didn't like how crew cut the space to a small dark rooms and the choice of dull beige (yellowish) colors. This is not my favorite transformation in terms of the design. Other than that, I am glad that they cleaned this dump place.
Absolutely. Lighthouse on the roof had its purpose and opened up the space. That was the greatest feature. Also not a fan of flat roofs. Never stands the test of time well, especially in wet climate conditions
You have to be handy. My husband did 80 percent of the reno on our home.Saved a ton of money.
Where ?
Which country ?
In his original video he said Frome, so that would be in Somerset, England.
