They do that in Turkey 🇹🇷 to extend the cargo space in the back. There are lots of vans at the airport picking up passengers with luggages, that area in the back allowes the driver to put things on top of each other, not inside.
A very good video showing excellent craftsmanship and a very practical Design. It brought me back to 1977 when I started converting a brand new 77 GMC Vandura Short Box Van by cutting off the roof. I made my own raised Fibreglas Roof for it. It had a 2 Burner Stove, Sink, enclosed Toilet and Bunk Beds to sleep 4. When the family grew I removed the camping gear and eventually ended up with an 8-Seat Van by installing two Aircraft Bench Seats. We had it for over 22 Years.
That's amazing! Do you remember the price of the van when new? I loved those style vans back then. If I'm not mistaken, it was the same style as the Hardy Boys had in their series. 350ci motor?
I'm considering purchasing a 26ft RV or van conversion for mobile office...advice on pricing for conversion vs buying small rv? Small rv has a lot of unnecessaries for business
You only think so when you don't have it yet, but once you've been living in your car for about a week, you'll go crazy because of the problems and get bored of living in it.
Finally! Someone who sprays paint instead for rolling and brushing! Dude, I'm so sick of watching people do shitty paint jobs and so this was very satisfying ☺ Also, the length of the video and speed were exactly what I like. I can process everything you did and remember it and so lengthy videos aren't necessarily when highlighting a complete build. Totally enjoyed your build!
Another one of the easily offended army shows up. I'm sure your vehicle looks great also. send us a link, I would love to see it, as all of these are a challenge to build. But please stop with the thin skin BS already.@@liamjohnson2474
Nice build! Love that you did it in fast-motion. Some of the builds are nice but we don't need to see every screw that gets screwed in or every board cut. Thanks much RW
When you have an unlimited budget, all the tools, helpers and a shop this build was easy peezy. As DIY it have me some ideas. Looks greats thanks for sharing.
when you have unlimited budget you go and buy brand new real campervan, where you will sleep on fullsize bed and have separate showerbox and dont bother anyone with converting. there is nothing here that is expensive, not a single thing. if you dont have that sum of money you must now even dream of campering.
The interior is fantastic and beautiful, but unfortunately, it's too heavy. It would be better with lighter materials. For example, the sink alone is too heavy; using stainless steel would be lighter and more durable. Some parts of the interior don't necessarily require such heavy wooden panels; plastic or acrylic would be more appropriate. This weight makes fuel consumption too high, limiting the travel distance or reaching locations far from gas stations
It doesn't matter Nobody actually usually uses these vans for more than a few weeks Then they realize how badly designed it is, and how much "van life" actually costs
My heavens you must be an engineer of some high description and very good at maths. Your precision and attention to detail is brilliant. No bodge jobs and of the highest functional quality. Seeing a man use his hands and brains like this is the most utmost turn on. Really enjoyed watching video. It also works as a template for those without a clue. Love everything about this video, what’s not to love about. Thank you for videoing this project from start to finish and all very clear. Nice job. ❤
Very rare correct placement of the burner on the door side of the kitchen counter. I have been watching hundreds of van builds (if not thousands) in the last few years and 99% builders are putting the sink there, mostly for the purpose of using the water from the sink outdoors, I guess, but, in exchange of putting the oily smelly smoky cooker burner next to the bed, your pillows and blankets, crazy. This location provides hundreds times more automatic ventilation it's like half outside already.... I was always going like "noo!! Whyyy?" But this was finally the wise choice, must be the Turkish wisdom :p
Very beautiful! Congrats!! My only objection is the weight because I see you are using very thick lumber. The grey interior top cover is made by you or it was the genuine one?
A very well designed RV. Love the layout. Nice long countertop for cooking, so nice! Cosy bathroom, lounge in front + spare bed, and full sized bed and garage - perfect! Nice work, Murat.
I just want to know one thing : Did they upgrade the suspension , engine , wheel and tire ply , axles , etc as well or not ? Seems like alot of work still ought to be done by those builders .
It's very strange how he put insulation under the floor boards. But, no ceiling or side walls insulation. What the ?? And no. That silver stick-on layer is not proper insulation.
My DIY CAMPERVAN was stolen from me on my street 13 years ago, and then ended up in the Hit Movie "Super Storm" and was blown to bits a half hour into the film, that film was made right here in British Columbia. They replaced the 77's steel grill with a more modern plastic grill, white bumpers, and elephant mirrors too. Also, someone removed the rear tire carrier that I put on the right rear door, but you can see the door is dented from me backing into a telephone pole. They gutted the interior, but you can see the yellow foam job that was done in Missauga. The stock 2' steering wheel was replaced with a smaller, uncertified black rubber foam one. There is a scene in the movie of a woman in the back of the van but that's just Hollywood trickery. The final scene of my van shows it pull a U-turn, a lightning bolt from Outerspace? hits the van the occupants escape somehow and it's blown to bits with dynamite so there's no way I can check the serial numbers at this time, 13 years later. But it was a nice van and, I took it all the way down South three times and over the Donner summit to Reno and through Los Vegas on the way back from Tijuana, Mexico. Also, I flew my hang-glider off a mountain in Santa Barbara that was on the roof of my van and passed my Hang IV test so I could fly Fort Funston in San Fran, and Torrey Pines just North of San Diego in La Jolla, which is the nicest place in Southern California.
This is the best build I have seen on here, the only thing I would change is having a macerator toilet. I would get this man to build for me If I wanted a new van. Thank you.
That was awesome to watch. You are a very, very talented person. You need to start making them and selling them. I don’t know how long it took you but you didn’t excellent excellent job, sir. I applaud you I bow to you sir. Very very nice John .
Thumbnail is misleading. I came here to find out what was on the back of that van. 👎
Agreed. I’m disliking this video and asked TH-cam to never recommend this channel again. So tired of lying thumbnails

Saw this on a Mercedes in Florida and still can't fig it out. Is it a bathroom?
Exact same response! Hate p o s videos that do things like this.
