The moment that gave me goosebumps was the scene in Dune Pt. 2 when Paul gives his "I point the way" speech to the Fremen. I absolutely love that moment, even as impressed as I am with the sandworm riding scene (the sound design for the entire film is also perfection!) But the first movie I had to get my head on right after I left the theater was The Matrix. I think I walked around in a daze for a long while afterwards!
'There Will Be Blood' end scene starting with "I am the third revelation!" 'LOTR Return of the King' when Aragorn says, "My friends, you bow to no one" and "For Frodo". 'Snatch' opening scene 'Se7en' when John Doe shouts. "DETECTIVE".
In Dune i have to say, nothing gave me more goosebumps than the speech in front of the fremen. The change in Vioce and the prue feeling of power was just insane
Absolutely yes. I haven't gotten chills like that from a film in years. There's been a few "chills" moments I've seen over the past decade or so, but the only moment that gives me chills comparable to that Dune sequence is when Caesar yells "NO!" in 2011's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes!"
Dune part 2 might be the best film I’ve ever watched. I went to the cinema 3 times to watch it within the first week of release. I was astonished from moment 0 till the end. I just couldn’t believe how good it was
Ah, you must be younger than me. (I have seen some isht!) But please leave room in your heart for more cinematic pleasures in your future because I hope there will be many many more for you (as there have been for me!)
Is it better than the first movie? I'm a massive movie buff, I'll watch anything but the first movie was rubbish. I remember how much hype there was for it when it was released, I didn't get to watch it until like a year after it came out and I was so underwhelmed by it.
I had the best cinematic experience with both Dune Part One and Part Two. I Saw them both three times in theaters which is something I have never done with any other films. Seeing the scene where Paul rides a sandworm for the first time in Dolby was easily the most incredible thing I have ever seen put to screen.
That last scene in TDK still gives me chills. From Harvey Dent's coin tosses to Batman being chased. Dune was also crazy, especially the last showdown when Paul fights the Harkonnen guy
I’m partial to Nolan’s film, as well as Zimmer’s and Göransson’s scores - so moments that I think of are the docking scene from Interstellar as well as the moment you see the true size of the wave on Miller’s planet as the score crescendos. Also the montage that plays in Oppenheimer along with “Can you hear the music” track and the build-and-release of the nuclear bomb test is a goosebump-bonanza. Amazing cinema!
Excellent exploration. Love how batman became the Dark Knight to protect the concept of the White Night. I think I'll never be able to get Toni Collette's mourning wails out of my mind. And I think watching both Dunes on flights is my greatest sin. I'll have to wait for them to get a rerun in cinema and watch them back to back
I love a good video essay but this feels like more of a mini-doc. Rare to see this level of attention to detail on here in terms of editing, sound design, and analysis from youtube creators. Keep it up King 👏
This is seriously good - I really enjoyed how you broke down these three incredibly powerful moments in cinema. You’ve done a great job of conveying how each scene evokes goosebumps in different ways - from the tension in the dark knight to the intensity of hereditary & the epic scale of dune. As always the editing is top notch. My favourite vid of yours so far - can’t wait to see what you come out with next 👏👏👏
Damn these just keep getting better and better! While us mere mortals are here watching movies in 1080p, Stamp of Approval is admiring and analysing them in 4k. We need more breakdowns ASAP please 🙌💪
The village scene in "a thin red line" is the most extraordinary piece of cinema ever made, music, editing, camera work, nothing beats it for jaw dropping reality, makes every war movie a bit silly in comparison
Mate, the production quality of this video is really impressive for someone with 1k followers (and I mean that in an entirely good way). It's a sub from me.
I agree with your movie picks, but I had goosebumps at different moments. TDK: Heath Ledger's performance with Maggie Gyllenhall. Knowing that she had never seen Heath in character really sold her reaction to him. His performance is electric and you thought maybe he would actually kill her. Nothing was safe. HEREDITARY: The scene where her husband is lit on fire instead of her. That made my jaw drop. All expectations where out the window after that. Dune: BOTH films had goosebump moments for me, which is incredible. The first was Paul's Gom Jabbar scene was incredible. I sat straight up and sat in shock and awe. It was that moment I knew I was watching something special. Not many movies do this, but part 2 did it AGAIN when Lady Jessica drank the water of life. Completely blew me away with how it was done. Amazing cinema.
from 13:34 to 15:28 is almost like i'm reading my Letterboxd because you share my exact thoughts! subscribed just based off your Paul wormride sequence analysis
I have to say the bank robbery scene in Heat. Just how much is at stake and just how so much is happening and how long it goes on for that you realize think you'll know how it'll end; it just keeps going.
Each person feels them in a different way. Some people with action scenes as you show with Dune, I personally with beatiful and emotional happy scenes. For example, I don't feel absolutely anything when watching Dune, it doesn't try to make us connect to the story or the characters, so for me Dune never gave me goosebumps.
- Good, Bad, and Ugly: Tuco running through Cemetery/ Final Standoff. - Shawshank Redemption: Andy's Escape - Blade Runner: Roy hunts and saves Deckard/ Tears in rain speech. - The Dark Knight: Batman interrogates the Joker - No Country for Old Men: Anton Chigurh confronts Shopkeeper/ Anton finds Llewelyn in the Hotel. - Apocalypse Now: Ride of the Valkyrie's Helicopter ambush - Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: Obi-Wan vs Anakin - Saving Private Ryan: Omaha Beach - Jaws: Last shark attack, Martin kills the Shark - Jurassic Park: T-Rex escapes - LOTR The Two Towers: Théoden Rides Forth - LOTR Return of the King: The battle for Minas Tirith/ The Ride of Rohirrim - Dune Part 2: Feyd's Arena Battle/ Paul rides the Worm/ Paul and Worm Army attack the Emperor's Sardaukar - The Shining: Escape from the Overlook. - Interstellar: Docking Sequence - La Haine: Mirror scene/ Gun Scene/ DJ Scene/ Ending - The assassination of Jesse James: Train Robbery scene - BladeRunner 2049: Agent K finds Deckard in Las Vegas feel free to add more, I struggle to remember all of them lol.

When has cinema given you goosebumps? I wanna hear your top moments 💯
The Dark Knight in my personal opinion is the GOAT.
Yeah. The end of The Dark Knight ending gives me goosebumps every time i watch it.

The Batman 2022, when he starts the engine on the Batmobile, the screaming sound of the engine its just something else.

Another great scene

Im pointing the way! Absolut amazing scene. Great acting!
When he reveals to them that he could see their dreams and whispers “Dune.” I nearly died.
💯
I think Dune part 2 arguably has the highest amount of “holy shit” moments in any film I’ve seen to date.
Agreed
Dune part 2 might be the best film I’ve ever watched. I went to the cinema 3 times to watch it within the first week of release. I was astonished from moment 0 till the end. I just couldn’t believe how good it was
Only movie I went to theaters three times to see. Flawless
To be honest, I felt the same.

It was always the last scene in the TDK that had that real goosebumps factor, and both parts of Dune are so epic
Hereditary is one those movie that once you watch it and you will never get satisfied with any other movies on the same genre
the day i watched it, every other horror movie felt like a thriller comedy
REAL.
Hereditary isn’t better than the shining or the thing
Try the medium
@pratikpathak749 oh I have it's pretty great but I think the wailing is much better
Got alot to do with cinematography and the score....dune part 2 score is so Epic..tremendous work by the whole team
The good the bad and ugly stand off scene is perfect and the scene where Batman in the Batman is walking out from the fire is so bad ass
Just watched the Batman again, I rated it even more second time
Ooh, my favorite scene in The Batman was of him climbing the stairs to that first fight scene! That was beautiful!
I really felt that in my plums, beautiful blueish hue to them. Sunlight dancing right off of them, getting ready to take them to the farmers market
Ripe for the picking 😂
Dune is the best, I've seen so far
This is a BRILLIANT piece. Gave me goosebumps in itself!!

For me the latest goosebumps aren’t from cinema, but TV. Arcane and Blue eye samurai. They are that good.
I started watching Arcane last night, heard great things!
Also, subscribed! And I rarely subscribe. But THIS was that good.

My plums are exhausted from all that tension.😂

What is the name of the music that plays at minute 10:45?
Yuriy Leontiv - Valley of Light. I found on artlist io
This video would've had a perfect ending if not for that Will Ferrell clip. That had the comedic timing of a marvel movie
Cmon didn’t you feel it in your plums?!?
@stampofapproval lol
The end dinner scene in Sicario, when he kills the kids
