a tip: face oil makes a film in your skin and should be the last step of your night routine, to seal it all in, your moisturizer can be thicker than the oil, but it wont penetrate your skin bc of that
Ooh I've always read differently - I use fairly lightweight face oils that sink in nicely, so my heavier moisturiser goes last (this is also based on Go-To Skincare's advice because I often use their face oil and moisturiser at the same time and that's the order they suggest). The textures of oils and moisturisers are always different though, so you should follow the order that fits the specific products and textures in your routine! ☺️👍 x

I really love their moisturizer. I've been looking for a good spf because it is so hard to find one for oily-combo skin :( I currently use EltaMD but it makes my skin too greasy. loved this! that avène cleanser is my holy grail cleanser. skincare is absolutely integral to my mental health! it’s a quiet moment where i can take time for myself and also research fun products. my hero product for the last few years has been the innisfree 2x volcanic pore mask. it’s the best clay mask i’ve ever come across, and i use it in conjunction with a nice hydrating sheet mask (the mediheal ones are a personal fave) and it keeps my skin clear and glowy! im waiting with baited breath for part two x

I’m loving the FAB ultra repair cream at the moment! I have dry skin and it sinks in really well, and you can get it in a smaller size as well as the big one! Really nice basic at a relatively good price point!
I only recently got into skincare for that same reason. COVID gave me the time I needed to really delve deeply into it. I loved this video, you've reminded me of some products that I planned on buying but never got around to it! I'm excited for part 2! Some holy grail products of mine are Kate Somerville peptide serum (great for getting rid of those pesky wrinkles), Kate Somerville Exfolikate, Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer (it has literally saved my dry skin from the grave, and it smells like oranges too!)

Yay! I've been waiting for this video! It's always interesting to see other people's skincare faves (esp if you have similar skin types/concerns). Some skincare faves that I've added to my routine last year are the Laneige Cream Skin Mist, Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream, & Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen SPF50.
The Glow Recipe Plum plump serum is my top skin care find in 2020, I absolutely love it!! My skin feels great and, as the product claims, plump after using it 😍😍
I just love your videos and have miss them so much! Isn’t it amazing how important moisture specifically is for angry skin? The lack of moisture and hydration can look like a full blown hormonal break out in which we will often pursue the totally wrong treatments! I had this happen recently I decided to first incorporate a more robust moisturizer which seem totally backwards as we are headed into spring here. But I have always found that my skin needs warm moisture and hydration in the spring and summer months then in the winter. I did the trick! Alongside 5% lactic acid and adapalene, my skin is back to being happy and clear! Not to mention looking its best as a result of such. That being said, my favorite skin care products of last year and continuing into this year are these: adapalene gel (La Roche Posay specifically, has a slightly nicer finish than others), La Eoche Posay Lipikar Baum, and the ordinary lactic acid 5%. I will also throw in Hyalamide SubQ serum too, but it doesn’t seem to do anything more than your average hydration serum.

Hello there! Really loved this great skincare selection. I seriously edited my routine this year when the rosacea combined with dryness was problematic. Still using French pharmacy for cleansing and spritzing, but Dr Sam’s three step routine (brightly serum am; nightly serum pm and moisturiser morning and night) saved my skin. Even as old as it is is looks pretty glowy now! Can’t wait for the next video!! Thanks Matilda and SYNT 👋👍❤️❤️❤️
Hey Matilda! I do recommend the Purifying Exfoliant Paste from Aesop if you like the softening effects of the swipeys! It does come with fine quartz, so unless you absolutely do not want physical exfoliants, do give it a try :D
I ordered the Ultraviolette sunscreen as soon as it dropped in the UK on your recommendation and it's everything a dry skin girl could want in a sunscreen. The texture is glorious, especially for a SPF50. Instant HG status!

I actually got face hero for Christmas and it has been such a treat to use! It doesn’t really do much to improve my skin, other than moisturize it to heck, but I love using it especially with my stainless steel race roller. Recently, I came back to my old favorite face oil, the Ordinary’s B oil. It’s green so I usually use that at night and a bit face hero in the morning when I do the facial rolling :)
I really enjoyed the I’m from honey mask and the dr jarts mist in the green bottle. I think those were my finds from last year. They really helped calm my skin down.

Unfortunately I don't plan to film a makeup collection video, I just prefer to make more concise videos based on a particular concept or theme ☺️👍 I've been collecting for many years but beauty is also my job now so it involves trying more products than the average person x

According to board certified dermatologist Dr. Josh Zeichner, lightest to heaviest means that water based products should be closest to the skin and therefore applied first. The oil can then form a seal on top. The first ingredient in Very Useful Skin Cream moisturizer is water. Vitner’s daughter has no water and is oil based (avocado, grape seed, hazelnut) Just providing some information to help as I was also curious about this. It makes sense that a lipid layer that is formed by an oil would be impenetrable by water (good thing for soap eh? :D )
I use Ren’s Ready Steady Glow everyday and just got my dad using it. And you know how I feel about Ultra Violette. Just placed another order with them.

I understand the appeal (I like being able to understand ingredient lists easily and enjoy a lot of creamy, sheer textures in 'clean' makeup) but it's not something I focus on x
Thank you, Matilda! Just wondering if you have tried the sunscreens of We Are Feel Good Inc, another Aussie brand. One of the few good sunscreens we can access from here in Sri Lanka, and I've been using their original sunscreen for the past year or so. I have oily skin, so it does feel a bit oily, but it has done wonders so far. And you can imagine the struggle with the year-round sun here in SL!
Skincare really got me through 2020 as well. I got into Ultra Violette thanks to you! I want to try Glow Recipe, now, too. I used to use Jurlique and gave it up - the creams were too heavy and the rose mist wasn't good for my skin. :( So sad becuase I liked supporting a local brand
How come you use fragranced products? If you have dry skin (I do) try going fragrance free! It’s transformed my skin. I like la roche posay ap lipikar lotion (such good value), egyptian magic cream (transforms into a face oil on your skin) and boots retinol serum. I use ceramide serums to help my barrier
I'm surprised the Cleanance works for you even with the updated dry skin. I've stayed away from it out of fear that it would be too rough /strong for my skin, but I've been tempted to try the hydrating version. First, about 10 years ago you got me hooked on Jurlique (and Rosewater) and I think now it'll be this :))))
@Sabrina S. I have dry skin as well and for me it was not a good experince as it was too strong.But for the last months I’ve been using the Cerave hidrating cleanser and it’s been going very well for me.

I love your skincare videos more than your makeup videos, but I would really suggest please use ultra Violette's mineral sunscreen formula than the chemical ones and that's because some chemical uv filters can bleach coral reefs thankfully they don't formulate with oxybenzone which is the worst one of them but it's your call to make I just wanted to bring it to your attention ☺️ love you and your videos and you don't know about much happy you made me when you uploaded this video my birthday is on 26 may and I have been waiting for this video and it's like an advance birthday gift from you and please make your burberry makeup favourites I know how much you love that brand and now I am gonna stop I have typed a way too long of a comment

@@matildaonvideo I know it's pretty controversial topic but some chemical ingredients are actually banned from using in sunscreen in Hawaii but ultra violette don't actually use those ingredients which were banned I am in love with the all over body sunscreen it's my favorite formula from them and also the first one that I actually brought from them years ago and I love all there sunscreens and use all of their formulas they make sunscreen so fun to use and thankyou so much for wishing me 🥰

Some skincare faves that I've added to my routine last year are the Laneige Cream Skin Mist, Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream, & Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen SPF50.

I just love your videos and have miss them so much! Isn’t it amazing how important moisture specifically is for angry skin? The lack of moisture and hydration can look like a full blown hormonal break out in which we will often pursue the totally wrong treatments! I had this happen recently I decided to first incorporate a more robust moisturizer which seem totally backwards as we are headed into spring here. But I have always found that my skin needs warm moisture and hydration in the spring and summer months then in the winter. I did the trick! Alongside 5% lactic acid and adapalene, my skin is back to being happy and clear! Not to mention looking its best as a result of such. That being said, my favorite skin care products of last year and continuing into this year are these: adapalene gel (La Roche Posay specifically, has a slightly nicer finish than others), La Eoche Posay Lipikar Baum, and the ordinary lactic acid 5%. I will also throw in Hyalamide SubQ serum too, but it doesn’t seem to do anything more than your average hydration serum.

Hello there! Really loved this great skincare selection. I seriously edited my routine this year when the rosacea combined with dryness was problematic. Still using French pharmacy for cleansing and spritzing, but Dr Sam’s three step routine (brightly serum am; nightly serum pm and moisturiser morning and night) saved my skin. Even as old as it is is looks pretty glowy now! Can’t wait for the next video!! Thanks Matilda and SYNT 👋👍❤️❤️❤️

Hey Matilda! I do recommend the Purifying Exfoliant Paste from Aesop if you like the softening effects of the swipeys! It does come with fine quartz, so unless you absolutely do not want physical exfoliants, do give it a try :D

I ordered the Ultraviolette sunscreen as soon as it dropped in the UK on your recommendation and it's everything a dry skin girl could want in a sunscreen. The texture is glorious, especially for a SPF50. Instant HG status!

I actually got face hero for Christmas and it has been such a treat to use! It doesn’t really do much to improve my skin, other than moisturize it to heck, but I love using it especially with my stainless steel race roller. Recently, I came back to my old favorite face oil, the Ordinary’s B oil. It’s green so I usually use that at night and a bit face hero in the morning when I do the facial rolling :)

According to board certified dermatologist Dr. Josh Zeichner, lightest to heaviest means that water based products should be closest to the skin and therefore applied first. The oil can then form a seal on top. The first ingredient in Very Useful Skin Cream moisturizer is water. Vitner’s daughter has no water and is oil based (avocado, grape seed, hazelnut) Just providing some information to help as I was also curious about this. It makes sense that a lipid layer that is formed by an oil would be impenetrable by water (good thing for soap eh? :D )
I use Ren’s Ready Steady Glow everyday and just got my dad using it. And you know how I feel about Ultra Violette. Just placed another order with them.

Thanks for watching! ☺️ Unfortunately I don't like to place any emphasis on 'clean' beauty anymore - it's essentially a marketing term as there's no set definition or regulation in that area of the industry, as well as a lot of misinformation and scaremongering. I understand the appeal (I like being able to understand ingredient lists easily and enjoy a lot of creamy, sheer textures in 'clean' makeup) but it's not something I focus on x

Thank you, Matilda! Just wondering if you have tried the sunscreens of We Are Feel Good Inc, another Aussie brand. One of the few good sunscreens we can access from here in Sri Lanka, and I've been using their original sunscreen for the past year or so. I have oily skin, so it does feel a bit oily, but it has done wonders so far. And you can imagine the struggle with the year-round sun here in SL!

Skincare really got me through 2020 as well. I got into Ultra Violette thanks to you! I want to try Glow Recipe, now, too. I used to use Jurlique and gave it up - the creams were too heavy and the rose mist wasn't good for my skin. :( So sad becuase I liked supporting a local brand

How come you use fragranced products? If you have dry skin (I do) try going fragrance free! It’s transformed my skin. I like la roche posay ap lipikar lotion (such good value), egyptian magic cream (transforms into a face oil on your skin) and boots retinol serum.
I use ceramide serums to help my barrier
My skin is also greatful . 💖💖💖💖💖💖

I'm surprised the Cleanance works for you even with the updated dry skin. I've stayed away from it out of fear that it would be too rough /strong for my skin, but I've been tempted to try the hydrating version. First, about 10 years ago you got me hooked on Jurlique (and Rosewater) and I think now it'll be this :))))

@Sabrina S. I have dry skin as well and for me it was not a good experince as it was too strong.But for the last months I’ve been using the Cerave hidrating cleanser and it’s been going very well for me.

I love your skincare videos more than your makeup videos, but I would really suggest please use ultra Violette's mineral sunscreen formula than the chemical ones and that's because some chemical uv filters can bleach coral reefs thankfully they don't formulate with oxybenzone which is the worst one of them but it's your call to make I just wanted to bring it to your attention ☺️ love you and your videos and you don't know about much happy you made me when you uploaded this video my birthday is on 26 may and I have been waiting for this video and it's like an advance birthday gift from you and please make your burberry makeup favourites I know how much you love that brand and now I am gonna stop I have typed a way too long of a comment

@@matildaonvideo I know it's pretty controversial topic but some chemical ingredients are actually banned from using in sunscreen in Hawaii but ultra violette don't actually use those ingredients which were banned I am in love with the all over body sunscreen it's my favorite formula from them and also the first one that I actually brought from them years ago and I love all there sunscreens and use all of their formulas they make sunscreen so fun to use and thankyou so much for wishing me 🥰
