I love that you’ve made a number of solid points about how the video’s gonna go down, your recycling, and getting the most out of a product in the time it takes other creators to ramble about how many people “requested this video”-not necessarily a jab at them, but after your videos, some of the old beauty content can be hard to watch. You’re concise but thorough, and that’s greatly appreciated.
I too cut my cream tubes to scrape the very ends out! It lasts another good week or two, glad you mentioned it :) though the metal tubes presents some challenges need to be so careful....

Do you drop your empties to L'Occitane? They're the only one in my state that still take beauty products ever since Terracycle stopped their Garnier free beauty recycling program a few years ago. I really hope Mecca expands their Terracycle bins to other states soon to make it more accessible to everyone!

I really hope Mecca expand their recycling points too! I tried to find out where they're currently located and if it's their own scheme or a partnership with TerraCycle but unfortunately never heard back. I know I've seen a recycling point in the Mecca Maxima in Melbourne Central 👍 x
Thanks for sharing! I would recommend getting The Spatty from Amazon. It is a spatula that helps gets the most out of your beauty product bottles. It will help waste less by scraping out as much as you can out of each product ie foundation bottles, lotion, lip balm, concealer, lipstick, serums, etc. It comes in different sizes and I think it comes 2 or 3 per pack...so you can even keep one in your makeup bag for your purse or suitcase. Hope it helps!🙂

I don't have any fancy storage or tips unfortunately 😂 My products are just divided up in small boxes inside bathroom drawers, or in empty candles or glass jars. Hoping to set up some drawers to make accessing everything for my content creation a bit easier! x

It does take me ages to get to the end though! Great tip about cutting the empty packaging to get to the bonus leftovers in the end of every tube!! I do it with toothpaste too 😂😁. My most empties have been the caudalie beauty elixir with their vino source moisturizing sorbet! I also love their detox mask. As for the nails, I have heard good reviews about the Chanel le dissolvant, but I really enjoy the pots; so after I finished my Boots dip & twist nail polish remover, I simply swamped out the sponge with a colourful dish one and added the Chanel nail polish remover. It was a win for me 😊
Ok I'm v late to this video but I used to work for The Body Shop and they take back their brand's empties with Terracycle! They had an incentive when they introduced Terracycle to their stores that if you were part of their loyalty program and brought back 5 empties you'd get a $5 voucher on your account, but they've stopped that now because it was an introductory offer. I haven't seen it mentioned by Mecca so I'll have to check if their shops near me also take empties. Also Lush takes back all their empty pots to reuse as well, and if you bring back 5 full sizes empties you get a free fresh face mask!
Ever since the lockdown due to the pandemic, I've not shopped for any skincare/bodycare/makeup etc and I'm completely focusing on finishing up whatever I have! I discovered the Cerave body lotion this year and I fell in love, so I repurchased the full size (almost half a litre) without a doubt. Herbavoir coconut milk bath soak has quickly become a favorite of mine. I purchased this online on a whim along with a few other splurge items at Sephora (USA) and I have had to stop myself from using it up so quickly. Can’t remember how big the jar and it was smaller than expected when I did first set my eyes on my purchase. However the scent is amazing and I swear it has a bit of shimmer to you that just leaves you with very ethereal looking waters, kind of like using a sparkly bath bomb from Lush on more subtle. It’s lovely!

Mesmerized by your nails! I think that might be the most perfect shade of blue for nails I’ve scene.💙 For about six months now, I’ve been loving goat milk products by Beekman 1802. They are a clean and cruelty free line, and have their own farm located in Sharon Springs NY. They have a wide range skin and hair care products, but my fav is the bar soap and body lotion. Some scents are seasonal (they currently have a limited ed Rose Apothecary that also has geranium listed as one of the bottom notes, thought of you). I can use the body bar soap in the dead of winter and my skin does not feel tight or uncomfortable and the lotion is simply the best for me. I can use it alone, without adding other products to help moisturize my skin and no greasy residue. Finally. 🙌🏼 🐐 🐐 xoxo
I LOOOVED that you mention the end cycle of the products!! TerraCycle is a great resource! However, keep in mind that all plastic will unfortunately end up in landfill since they can only be recycled for limited amount of times.
also, please don't cut the tube in any way that will separate them. A part of them will be missing the recycling label and therefore can not be properly recycled 💔
I got a small sample size from a hotel with the geranium body cleanser and it was flipping amazing. Seeing how many other geranium scented products on your channel makes me want to go out and buy them all 😩

I didn't start wearing makeup regularly until my very late teens after I'd finished school, so unfortunately I wouldn't be comfortable suggesting products for teenagers. But I guess some sheer colour like lip glosses, tinted balms or cream blushes might be a nice place to start ☺️👍 x
You basically sold me the Caudalie lip balm and I love it! I thought it would be quite pricey but it's not that bad, especially considering how good it is and how long it lasts. Definitely well spent 5 euros lol

Another cool trick to getting product out of tube that I've used is to take two Bobby pins place them on both sides of the tube and slowly drag it down the tube. It works well👍

I have begun to use shampoo bars and Skincare that preferably comes in glass packaging and I am trying to use every product I have without wasting it and buying only what is necessary!
I've definitely considered snap lock bags too, but I'm trying to move towards cotton or cloth bags where possible ☺️👍 I definitely have my eye on that REN range! x

The radox muscle soak is a nice post workout bath liquid. Highly recommend if you've just started working out.

I didn't start wearing makeup regularly until my very late teens after I'd finished school, so unfortunately I wouldn't be comfortable suggesting products for teenagers. But I guess some sheer colour like lip glosses, tinted balms or cream blushes might be a nice place to start ☺️👍 x
You basically sold me the Caudalie lip balm and I love it! I thought it would be quite pricey but it's not that bad, especially considering how good it is and how long it lasts. Definitely well spent 5 euros lol

Another cool trick to getting product out of tube that I've used is to take two Bobby pins place them on both sides of the tube and slowly drag it down the tube. It works well👍

I pop my cut up tubes into snap lock bags so the rest of the product doesn't go off 👍... I'd like to recommend Ren rose shower gel, it's lovely
I've definitely considered snap lock bags too, but I'm trying to move towards cotton or cloth bags where possible ☺️👍 I definitely have my eye on that REN range! x
