i tried RMS beauty for the first time and i can't believe that ive gone this long without it. when i shop for makeup & skincare now im like: "did matilda review this?" "did she like it?"
They really are! I got some bamboo ones, and they’re great - one caveat though: put them in a laundry bag or pillowcase if you’re throwing them in the washing machine. I had to call the handyman round to unclog my machine, and the culprit was a wee cotton round! Other than that, I love em and wish I’d made the switch years ago 😃
Cindy Del Toro I actually made mine myself - they were super easy! But you can find some really cute ones online at Etsy and there are plenty of other companies that make them as well so lots of options 😊
Yes, you're right Matilda, skincare is super personal. I used the same Avene cleanser, oh it was a nightmare, I broke out like crazy. At that time i was and adolescent 15 years almost, i had some hormonal spots only but combo skin.
Francesca Amato the Avène cleanser was a nightmare for my skin too. Even though I have oily skin, it stripped my skin and dehydrated the living hell out of it!
Switching to reusable cotton rounds has been such a great move for me. I would suggest finding some that have a pocket for your fingers in case you are working with a formula that might drag or roll instead of a clean swipe on the skin. A cotton round with a pocket may also lead to less hand cramping. Lots of love from the Rockies!

Regarding the bite lip mask, they went vegan so they removed the lanolin, but I've heard the new version isn't as hydrating, I'm almost nervous to try it :( I do have to say, you probably have some of the softest hands in the world!

Aaaahh! Skincare! My first love too! I have had very dry skin since I was a young girl. My mom didn’t really buy skincare, so when I started working in a department store behind the Elizabeth Arden counter I was in love! The company gifted us with an allowance & I always used mine on skincare. I left that company when I got my RN, but never left high end skincare. I have tried many brands & currently using a lot of Tatcha. I have 2 daughters & taught both how to care for their skin. Both of them ask for product for birthdays and Christmas. I see many of my favorites in this video & a few I am eager to try! Having 2 daughters is helpful in that if a product doesn’t work for me, one of my daughters will give it a try!
I picked up the Go-To Face oil on you recommendation. I put it on in the morning under my makeup (Philadelphia winters can be aggressive) and I absolutely LOVE it!

I’m under the care of a great dermatology department and have a great course of treatment every year which really helps and I’m always covered in SPF which helps. No joke, you are the only reason I developed a skincare routine when I started watching your videos two years ago. My 2019 holy grail skincare product was the konjac sponge. I found that it makes any cleanser instantly more effective, and because it's gently exfoliating it keeps my skin soooo smooth and blemish-free. It was the only change in my routine at the time, and the benefits were immediate. I also read somewhere that it essentially does the same thing as the Foreo Luna device, so that's a £100 saving right there !

You introduced me to the world of eucalyptus scent!! I always avoided it because it’s a masculine scent in my opinion, but I thought “hey Matilda uses eucalyptus scented things” so I gave it a go!! It doesn’t smell too masculine once it’s on the skin and have had people tell me they like the way I smell! Thank you!!!

I appreciate how you always talk about sunscreen cuz most people online never mention it. I'm only 17 but I spent most of my life tanning because I hated my fair skin and thought I only looked good when I was tan. Now that I've gotten older and wiser I've realized that my health (ie not getting skin cancer) is more important than a temporary "bronze glow." I'm still working on appreciating my fair skin (which is hard when you're a porcelain skinned blue eyed blondie in a family of olive skinned black haired people) but at least I'm taking better care of myself (^♡^)

I used to have so much makeup and used to do very high coverage, extra af makeup. But you made me focus so much on skincare. I went to Citypharma because you recommended and bought Bioderma, LRP, Klorane, Nuxe and other brands. I'd love it if you made a French pharmacy beauty related video.
I’ve started using witch hazel as a toner and I love it! It makes my skin feel so fresh and even gets off some more grime after cleansing. I think you should give it a try! My sister has dry skin too and she’s the one who turned me to the cheap and natural toner!
A visit to Paris last summer (with your recommendations making it better, Matilda!) introduced a couple of products to my routine: Embryolisse for moisturiser and Nuxe Reve de Miel (in the pot) for lip balm. My cleanser used to be the Avene one you use but honestly I have fairly complicated skin (that goes from glowy glam to sore and breaking out badly in no time), so I listened to my dermatologist and stuck to Cetaphil for the latter half of the year. I use the Chanel oil cleanser as a first cleanse to get rid of makeup on days I'm wearing some and it's been great for me, I did not expect it to be that good. My shampoo situation is sad -- I literally use whatever says it's SLS and paraben free on the bottle at the drugstore, and I've been using the Aēsop rose hair mask as a mask and conditioner. Smells smoky and like roses at the same time, so I'm completely hooked. Body care is non-existent (again) - I'm currently using Dr Bronner's lavender Castile soap, but I think I was using the supermarket brand shower gel before this. I'm terrible with body lotion (dry knees and elbows, anyone else?) and with mum no longer running after me with body oils because I moved out, I have permanent scales on my body. Oops.
I live in Malaysia n been using gel cleanser (nighttime) n cream cleanser for morning n remove makeup,hydrating mask n coconut body lotion ,all of them r from sukin..I would say they r good products,I also use rosehip exfoliation and clay mask frm essano beauty NZ,also good products in my opinion

The Caudalie sorbet is my FAVE nighttime moisturizer for the summer, but I find for the Canadian winter it’s better suited for the daytime or under makeup :)
My favorite product that I tried last year was the Malin and Goetz recovery treatment oil. I previously was using the go-to face hero which I still love and use but I love the Malin and Goetz one for day time just a little bit better because I think it absorbs better into the skin and feels lighter for day wear. Also, if anyone out there has super oily skin like mine and have a hard time finding a moisturizer that doesn't make you look super oily, the origins matte moisturizer with willowherb is really good! I immediately feel instantly more dehydrated from them, because the water from them evaporates off my face in a flash, which draws more water out of my skin. They're fine if you apply another product afterwards, but I notice so many of the youtube people I watch who say they have dry/dehydrated skin absolutely drown themselves in face mists all day and I wonder if they're actually not helping at all?
Thank you! That's true, I definitely find it best to follow face mist with a moisturiser to lock the hydration in, but they're also refreshing for me to use during the day 💧 If someone's skin is very very dry though, I'm sure it wouldn't be doing them any favours! x

That type of cleanser hasn't appealed to me unfortunately! I don't use micellar water every day - just to remove face makeup before a gym class or if I'm somewhere with a lot of pollution. My gel cleanser is the one I use every day 👍 x

The Bioderma Micellar Water is essential as the first step of my double-cleanse routine and I've been incorporating more of The Ordinary products into my skincare routine (like the 100% Ascorbic Acid Powder, which is a godsend for Vitamin C lovers). I really want to give Necessaire a go. Everything they make looks so luxurious but simple at the same time. And that Dyson hair dryer... so glorious yet so expensive. :'(
Have you ever tried the Avene thermal water? I think you’d love it as much as their cleanser. The Effaclar Duo + from La Roche Posay became my holy grail since my dermatologist recommended it last year. Is very lightweight, it absorbs easily and helped me with the acne scars and oil excess. And I can’t stop using the blush stick in Salty Siren shade, I love wearing it even when I’m not wearing make up, it gives to my very pale skin a healthy look that I love it. I’ve received lots of compliments since I’m wearing it 😁 Thanks for another great video, I really enjoyed it 😘

No joke, you are the only reason I developed a skincare routine when I started watching your videos two years ago. My 2019 holy grail skincare product was the konjac sponge. I found that it makes any cleanser instantly more effective, and because it's gently exfoliating it keeps my skin soooo smooth and blemish-free. It was the only change in my routine at the time, and the benefits were immediate. I also read somewhere that it essentially does the same thing as the Foreo Luna device, so that's a £100 saving right there !

I know exactly how you feel about having a signature scent. I used to mix my perfumes and had a fair few but after finding the perfect perfume for me and only repurchasing that one my family and friends recognize it straight away ☺️ Also I don’t know about the rest of the world but the name Malin on the deodorant is pronounced “Mah-Lin” it’s a Scandinavian name ☺️

You introduced me to the world of eucalyptus scent!! I always avoided it because it’s a masculine scent in my opinion, but I thought “hey Matilda uses eucalyptus scented things” so I gave it a go!! It doesn’t smell too masculine once it’s on the skin and have had people tell me they like the way I smell! Thank you!!!

I appreciate how you always talk about sunscreen cuz most people online never mention it. I'm only 17 but I spent most of my life tanning because I hated my fair skin and thought I only looked good when I was tan. Now that I've gotten older and wiser I've realized that my health (ie not getting skin cancer) is more important than a temporary "bronze glow." I'm still working on appreciating my fair skin (which is hard when you're a porcelain skinned blue eyed blondie in a family of olive skinned black haired people) but at least I'm taking better care of myself (^♡^)

I used to have so much makeup and used to do very high coverage, extra af makeup. But you made me focus so much on skincare. I went to Citypharma because you recommended and bought Bioderma, LRP, Klorane, Nuxe and other brands. I'd love it if you made a French pharmacy beauty related video.

I’ve started using witch hazel as a toner and I love it! It makes my skin feel so fresh and even gets off some more grime after cleansing. I think you should give it a try! My sister has dry skin too and she’s the one who turned me to the cheap and natural toner!

A visit to Paris last summer (with your recommendations making it better, Matilda!) introduced a couple of products to my routine: Embryolisse for moisturiser and Nuxe Reve de Miel (in the pot) for lip balm. My cleanser used to be the Avene one you use but honestly I have fairly complicated skin (that goes from glowy glam to sore and breaking out badly in no time), so I listened to my dermatologist and stuck to Cetaphil for the latter half of the year. I use the Chanel oil cleanser as a first cleanse to get rid of makeup on days I'm wearing some and it's been great for me, I did not expect it to be that good.
My shampoo situation is sad -- I literally use whatever says it's SLS and paraben free on the bottle at the drugstore, and I've been using the Aēsop rose hair mask as a mask and conditioner. Smells smoky and like roses at the same time, so I'm completely hooked. Body care is non-existent (again) - I'm currently using Dr Bronner's lavender Castile soap, but I think I was using the supermarket brand shower gel before this. I'm terrible with body lotion (dry knees and elbows, anyone else?) and with mum no longer running after me with body oils because I moved out, I have permanent scales on my body. Oops.

I live in Malaysia n been using gel cleanser (nighttime) n cream cleanser for morning n remove makeup,hydrating mask n coconut body lotion ,all of them r from sukin..I would say they r good products,I also use rosehip exfoliation and clay mask frm essano beauty NZ,also good products in my opinion

The Caudalie sorbet is my FAVE nighttime moisturizer for the summer, but I find for the Canadian winter it’s better suited for the daytime or under makeup :)
It's very light so I'm sure that's true Nilanjana! I was travelling last year and didn't really have a winter so it worked well year round for me 😂 x
My favorite product that I tried last year was the Malin and Goetz recovery treatment oil. I previously was using the go-to face hero which I still love and use but I love the Malin and Goetz one for day time just a little bit better because I think it absorbs better into the skin and feels lighter for day wear. Also, if anyone out there has super oily skin like mine and have a hard time finding a moisturizer that doesn't make you look super oily, the origins matte moisturizer with willowherb is really good! Lovely video! ♥️ I agree that skincare is so personal, I personally cannot stand any type of face mist. I immediately feel instantly more dehydrated from them, because the water from them evaporates off my face in a flash, which draws more water out of my skin. They're fine if you apply another product afterwards, but I notice so many of the youtube people I watch who say they have dry/dehydrated skin absolutely drown themselves in face mists all day and I wonder if they're actually not helping at all?
Thank you! That's true, I definitely find it best to follow face mist with a moisturiser to lock the hydration in, but they're also refreshing for me to use during the day 💧 If someone's skin is very very dry though, I'm sure it wouldn't be doing them any favours! x

Matilda you should try a balm to oil cleanser
You put it on rinse it and then go in with your cleanser . It’s more practical than micellar water
That type of cleanser hasn't appealed to me unfortunately! I don't use micellar water every day - just to remove face makeup before a gym class or if I'm somewhere with a lot of pollution. My gel cleanser is the one I use every day 👍 x

The Bioderma Micellar Water is essential as the first step of my double-cleanse routine and I've been incorporating more of The Ordinary products into my skincare routine (like the 100% Ascorbic Acid Powder, which is a godsend for Vitamin C lovers). I really want to give Necessaire a go. Everything they make looks so luxurious but simple at the same time.
And that Dyson hair dryer... so glorious yet so expensive. :'(

Have you ever tried the Avene thermal water? I think you’d love it as much as their cleanser.
The Effaclar Duo + from La Roche Posay became my holy grail since my dermatologist recommended it last year. Is very lightweight, it absorbs easily and helped me with the acne scars and oil excess.
And I can’t stop using the blush stick in Salty Siren shade, I love wearing it even when I’m not wearing make up, it gives to my very pale skin a healthy look that I love it. I’ve received lots of compliments since I’m wearing it 😁

Also, I've started using the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base, everything you have described about the Glossier priming moisturiser I am getting from this, so that's encouraging.
