In others words follow the 2 year rule. If you own watch 5 skip 6 and buy 7. If your coming from later Gen buy 6 and skip 7. 😀Lately all the smartphone been feeling this way.
@iNullias I upgraded so my 16 your old daughter could have a phone, so when I reupgraded on the next contract, I am able to use one purely for the camera...somethings I use apps on, won't allow other apps to work, so I have a camera phone and old s9+ for the music and my new phone, the s23 ultra can do a bit of the other stuff that the others can't because of the app allowances. The watch is probably something that could help with the easier access to the scorecard apps I need. Although I worry the screen will be too small...do you think I should get the 5?
@nbalivemobile7282 I can't speak for everyone, but for me, upgrading every year is a really easy way for me to stay up to date on the latest advances in technology as well as switching between Samsung and Apple every 2-3 years. It's not a problem to keep your devices till they're broken but I like speed and high sensitivity to touch input and old devices start having problems around both of those features so I choose to upgrade.
My active2 finally bit the dust via swimming in a hot spring after 3 or so years of good service...thus why I'm here. It still did everything I needed! Although, I do think now that Samsung uses Googles OS it will be a more versatile watch

Just looked into it there all the same. The only difference is face size and definition wich with a watch makes little difference. The sensors claim to better but any sensors of this type are unreliable no matter how they claim to be.
isnt the performance difference between the W920 and the W930 at about 15-20%, my watch is too laggy for me, that 15% improvment is quite big. But I'm gonna stick with my watch5 until the next one comes, and see how they fare.
Well samsung didn't give me the choice about upgrading. They canceled my samsung care on my watch 5 unbeknownst to me and once i discovered this it was too late my watch just hit a few days over a year and stopped receiving text messages (my reason for buying it). I just set up the watch 6 and its a lot smaller bezel. More noticeable than i thought. Also a negative the metal on it was flaking off when putting on my plastic bumper. Hopefully this isnt a sign of bad things to come
There is a setting in the "wear app" you can turn on/off any app that you want or don't want notifications being sent to your watch. Go to the app. Click on "Watch settings". Click on Notifications. Click "See all" find your texting app and toggle the switch on.
Bought the 6 (size 40mm) and was SO DISGUSTED with its 300mAh battery that holds nothing of a charge. I returned it the very next day. Ordered the 5 Pro with its 590mAh battery instead. Fingers crossed, this has better performance. 🙏🏾 Sigh. Sammy will always be known for their lackluster battery performance and their failure to understand or accept that high-end features require a high-end battery source with top-tier battery utilization. It's NOT AN OPTION. Otherwise, a device is useless. The 6 is over $300 new, so it's a crime to put in a low-end battery that could NEVER SUPPORT all the watch's features. Customers should not have to turn off every feature to "preserve battery life." I watched vids that recommended owners select only dark watch backgrounds since light backgrounds use more pixels and thus drain the battery faster. Like, what the freak? Just make a better battery. Customers shouldn't pay for features they can't use. That's like buying a 3-bedroom/2 bath house, but after the sale being told, "So, yeah, you can only use 1 bedroom and a half of the bathrooms. Also, we advertised a finished basement, but this house doesn't even have a basement. " I mean, c'mon. Doesn't that sound stupid and deceptive? Ok, I'm done. No more talking about the disaster that is the Horrible Watch 6. It will stand as one of my most disappointed buys. 😠
You can use this but it's good to get the result verified by something else just in case. You have to have a dedicated blood pressure monitor to calibrate the function on the watch.

As somebody who owned a Fossil Gen4, 5 and 6, I question your sanity. They're also about the same price as a Samsung or Google watch so I don't know where your 'for brokies' comes from? If spending lots of money on a product you'll probably replace in a year's time when the battery dies or it stops receiving updates is important to you, surely you should be using a Montblanc Summit or an Apple Watch Ultra? =P Back to Fossil: The pogo pins for charging are infuriating, the contact rings on the watch get dirty way too easily (which didn't seem to be such an issue with my old LG G Watch or the Urbane I replaced that with) and the watches aren't great in general. The Gen4 was the slowest, laggiest thing ever and the battery rarely made it through a day. The Gen5 was okay but Google Pay only worked when it felt like it and they've now removed Assistant from 2.x watches. The Gen6 runs Wear OS 3 awfully, only recently received a barely functional Google Assistant and the crown button on mine died about 5 minutes after the warranty ran out. The only reason I persisted with them for so long after starting my Android Wear/Wear OS journey on LG watches is because appearance-wise, they pass for real watches and TicWatches (which never get OS updates) and the Galaxy Watch Classic are about the only other currently marketed Wear OS devices which do. However, important functionality on the GW4-6 only works with Samsung phones so I wouldn't buy one. I've since learned to embrace, or at least live with, the rounded-off Apple Watch look. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the very exposed glass edges and small size but the Pixel watch is functionally a massive upgrade from the Fossil Gen6, even if it looks like a weird toy. Contactless charging, Google Assistant and Pay working consistently plus *relatively* decent performance are game changers. It's a bit sad that the 'best' Wear OS watch is really just the least bad Wear OS watch considering the fact that Google actually had a head start with making an OS for a watch over Apple but I guess that's the price I pay for choosing Android over iOS.
@Azurael regarding the pixel watch, I find its size just right to wear at work compared to my Galaxy watches which would get damaged if worn. I've put a screen protector on and use a bumper case.

Round is much more attractive in 40mm for women. Apple watches just look so bulky for a small wrist on a woman. Both could build more towards females who actually like to feel feminine.

Ive been using a Active 2 for about 3 years. Still works, trying to decide if there is any need to upgrade :)
