I'd just go with the mamba monster from castle and upgrade the gears by looking in the parts book on the 8s maxx. I've heard that The castle system outperforms the stock system on my 8s maxx anyway.
@@the40735 yeah that’s what I’m going to do I’m still trying to decide if I want to upgrade the esc and gears and gear up and stay on 6s or go to 8s cause I’ve seen people running 6s setups that are just as fast as 8s

LMFAO I know right. I got into this business when I was 14 years old and that was about 1990. I built RC cars for 40 bucks a pop at the local hobby shop in Anchorage Alaska. Called Anchorage House of hobbies. I will admit taking these monster trucks apart isn't as fun as it used to be when I was a kid but they're a lot simpler than some of the old cars especially Kyosho ones. You're right I'll go ahead and call them pussies LOL. It amazes me how all these kids come ready to run put together like this. I think it doesn't really make you appreciate everything that goes into it unless you're like me and you when we put together a kit before I put together over a hundred. Anyway take care of yourself and hope you don't get this virus my friend

I actually I have all parts to do this upgrade except the drive shafts,I’ll do them later,my Xmaxx has been running 8s with these 6s drive shafts with no issues 😎

Picked up 2020 XMaxx 8s and 3rd day out servo failed and have to go back to shop to replace?? wish that we could go ahead and purchase the upgrades and installations from the beginning. This is my first RC and had a blast while it was working. I am not a big jumper trying to take care of it so it will last and not very good at doing the upgrades my self.
V1 owners should get a discount rate on the new driveshafts and stub axles, I break em every other week.

BIGGBULLxxx You can, I'm running 3S batteries while I wait for the 4S to be in stock again. Gave up 5mph on top with the stock 15T pinion, but she's doing wheelies on 6S.

You don't need one stop being lazy, you will just end up with a load of striped out holes.

I know I’m 5 years late but it’s a snap-on tools electric screw gun I don’t know the exact model but you can only get it on a snap-on truck

The new motor isn't really faster, just more torque, which can be accomplished with gearing, why all the hate?
Truth Bullet i don't have much of an opinion on the matter but from what i'm reading here and there, people are thinking this is nothing more than a cash grab.
I had some people say they prefer the six cells because it's more controllables. I'm still definitely getting the 8 cell version. A friend of mine bought me a pair of Pro-Line pre-mounted beadlock Badlands tires for the x-max when I asked him for the E-maxx so I've already got a $200 set of tires and nothing to do with them might as well get an x-maxx right

This isn’t hard to do,you can first upgrade the rear bulk head with torque bias drive and then upgrade drive shaft and diff ring gears later.
if i place 18 pinion gear on motor i need to reachange that pins on C?

i love the x maxx but was it imposible to make it any easier to upgrade the performance when designing this thing if you ever make a 3rd gen please make more simple to get 8s power
Traxxas I had an xmaxx and I blew the tires the. first day and my pinion gear fell of my radio broke my gears shredded and then I sold it on ebay and got a maxx the maxx I like more I think the 8s was two much power and I'm 9 so ya also I love the rc hobby xmaxx is what got me into it

Since the 4 Cell batteries and EZ Peak LIVE was out of stock from the Traxxas website, will the X-Maxx 8s will still use 3 Cell batteries?

recently bought new a radio spektrum dx4c do I need to run that temp sensor that my original traxxas tqi sensor had slot to plug in ?will thier be any rffect
you can not use the temp sensor with any aftermarket radio system.

Msrp $949.99 w/8s kit, $700 regular 2s set up on the x-maxx but the esc goes out is it worth it? time you buy the lipos and the dual charger your looking at around $1000 so why not keep the old set up but with a new esc and have a model withe the 8s set pre installed fore a different priceing rang the thing that turns me off about the x-maxx was the price same thing goes fore the xo-1 back in 2012 so why not have this set up it would make perfect sense but that is my personal opinion.

Noticed on the New X-Maxx it doesn’t have many Traxxas logos on it. Like how the other models Traxxas such as Tmaxx trucks revo and Rustler 4x4 VXL. Feels plain the X Maxx doesn’t have many Emblems on it.

My truck is all stock and i have owned it for 6 months have not broken anything but a front shock shaft hard to justify over three hundred dollars to upgrade not to mention removing 300 screws to do it

Yeah I agree that's a pretty shity marking technique. Between that in the tires you have to buy because their stock tires will not hold up to 8s it's six hundred bucks for the upgrades

That's what I was thinking. Mine get as big as dinner plates! .. day one blew front right tire apart. Day 2 eyelet on shock broke . I haven't even jumped it yet .

This modification is for people that bought the Xmaxx when it first released as a 6s truck. Your 8s version already has all these parts....or should from factory.
Why do you say 30 plus volts when 8s is 29.6 volts
Steve Leahy A fully charged lipo is 4.2 volts per cell. 4.2 x 8= 33.6 volts. They are rated at half though. You are referring to a 50% charged battery set.

First thing to do is throw that over priced piece of plastic junk in the trash and get a real 1/5 scale!
I wouldn't use Traxxas batteries, there bearly up to the job and will puff in no time, my 6s batteries were a waste of money and when you buy the charger to it's a lot of money to waste, also bought the Bluetooth link it will not connect to anything i have another £50 wasted, the x-Maxx is awesome just wish the extra's were too, and why would you pay £600 to upgrade a truck you paid £900 for, better to sell it and just buy the 8s, but again get better batteries and a charger that charges any battery, AND DON'T USE POWER TOOLS TO TIGHTEN THE SCREWS FULLY finish them off by hand.
JTM2007 I keep hearing people saying to just sell it and buy the new one instead. You are assuming there are tons of people around who want to buy the old version. Were I live most people don't even know what an xmaxx is and definitely aren't interested in buying a used one. Mine is currently torn apart needing replacement parts. Who wants to buy that? I have $1100 invested in mine and I'm damn sure not going to sell it for $300 just to pay that much again for a new one. The upgrade kit is far cheaper than replacing the whole vehicle.
