Very fun truck to drive no doubt. But be ready to drop some serious money in it if you plan on buying one. Bought mine brand new a couple of months ago and it has just been one thing after another. First day out of the box my esc caught fire and did a ton of damage so after sending it back to traxxas to be repaired, i bought a hobbywing max 6 esc just to avoid it catching fire again. Ran it maybe three times and body pulled through and three of my tires came apart and two of the shocks leaked out all the oil. So if you plan on buying this truck just know that 900$ price tag is just the beginning. Ended up shelling out 200$ for the proline badlands, 160$ for the max 6 esc, 15$ for shock oil, scrounged up some body washers, two servos because of the plastic gears stripped. But all in all if you dont mind the cost its a fun truck to own.
That's very useful to know. Not much good buying an RC like that, if one cannot afford spending that money extra. Think ill stick to E-Revo2 and just replace cheap push rods :P
Crazy the same thing happened to me the first day I ran it. I also put some small washers and it’s held on really good. And as another person said, the pinion gear went lose a few days later. Today the left rear tire ripped right down across the middle. This is my second Xmaxx. I love them.
WOW that was a short and expensive fun. It comes from the mega adrenalin kick when you drive such a Monster Truck. I drive only RC Modell Truck Trial because this Monster Trucks are to fast for me. I hope you comes back with a new video and a repair Xmaxx. Greetings Andy from Modellbau-Kanal.de
Get Cen hinge pins. Rpm rear hubs they come in a kit with both of them and the bearings as well the rear bearings will go out as soon as you start bashing. Also by the stock stiff Springs that Traxxas offers for this and I promise you you won't be disappointed
I have the Stampede 4X4 VXL, and now I bought the Maxx - love it even more (it's the Xmaxx younger brother). These are so much fun, you can amaze yourself with the results !! THANKS !!!!! GREAT JOB !!!

It's lexan, plastic that's thinner than construction paper. No major jumps and a couple tumbles later all the screws were torn threw the body.. I'll tell you how to re enforce the new body.. dry wall hex shaped tape the sticky stuff and silicone . Also I cut out squares that fit in the screw holes with washers and it helped alot.. eventually they rip through again but not the first run. Also Proline sells a body for 100.00 that is supposed to be for the XMaXx thicker plastic.. And there's is a Russian company that does have a indestructible body. I reinforced my body with a coating of rite stuff(gasket maker), 1 fiberglass layer, followed by another coating of rite stuff. Bashing the xmaxx for months now stock body.

My birthday buy didn't last 24 hours, using the ERevos self correct melted the gears instantly, replaced with aluminum next day and seems better then before.
Right out of the box, the Xmaxx just won't back flip well. The wheelie bar will hit the face of the jump and stop rotation. Also, you just don't have the wheel speed at stock gearing to rotate that heavy RC. Gear up a little and remove the wheelie bar and you should be good to go for flips. The Xmaxx is tough as nails and EASY to work on. The body will hold up OK as long as you improvise some sort of washer for the screws. I just cut a used, plastic oil jug and made little washers from that. They blend with the black plastic well and are basically free. Just take a little time to make them look nice. You will also HAVE to spend a little time and reinforce the body shell...especially from where the roll bars connect to the bed and back. Any roll-over or landing on the tail will trash the body at the bed/tailgate. Some folks recommend the Max-6 ESC, but I have had no problems with the Traxxas one. I will tell you that you will likely need to buy the upgraded servo for it. The stock servo will likely fail. It's quite under powered for a truck that size. In fact the "upgraded" servo should be standard. Some will suggest the RPM hubs, but I personally have NOT had an issue with them breaking. Though, the bigger bearings would be nice (they only make rear hubs though, pfffft). Take the wheel bearings out after any....ANY dirty, muddy, wet, damp runs. Clean them thoroughly, pack with grease and reinstall. Those small inner bearings will get trashed if you don't take care of them. One more thing: Take the set screw out of the pinon gear, clean it thoroughly, and reinstall with HEAVY thread lock. The pinon will come loose if you don't.

I have owned an xmax for a few months now it's a great truck very durable way stronger than you're e revo but it will need some upgrades.. I have upgraded my esc to a max 6 and no problems so far after burning out 2 traxxas escs and I burnt out 2 normal 2085 servos you will need a 2085x and that's about all you need I prefer the smc 9200 mah batteries they have a very good run time and i like the metal plates they have also had no problems with them so far and almost forgot you will need to upgrade the spur and pinion I jumped it a few times and broke pinion and spur
I know why you cant pick it up on 2 wheels i has the same issue. Put the multifuncion knob on the transmitter to the right as far as it goes and the stability system will let you put it up then. It works trust me, the multifunction on your transmitter is basically and electronic stability system and it helps alot because my xmaxx is rear wheel drive and i can full throttle it on ice and it steers by itself and goes completely straight
Also take drywall mesh tape and shoe goo on the inside of the body to make it stronger don’t bother with the rpm wheely bar. Pick a hinge pin mod you like. Run rpm a arms all around hobby wing max 6 or 5 esc
It’s never to late to join the club. One of a kind machine, have fun. I’ve had three bodies and that never happened to mine. The badlands are great, very heavy though, get steel stub axles from hot racing if you’re gonna run the badlands, I kept tearing up the stock aluminum stubs
I've given up on Traxxas. I sold my E revo 2.0 like a month ago. I got tired of fixing it. Every time I cartwheel it or weird land, something breaks. It either the driveshaft pop out or the rods. Anyway, I got me an Arrma Kraton V3 now. Man this thing is so tough. It drives well and so balance when jumping. and it's so easy to maintenance(4 screws off and you get to the diff). I am never going back to Traxxas again.
Thats a hard choice. They are so different. If you have the space to run an Xmaxx, it may be better. The Maxx is a lot of fun and its super quick. It also does flips very easily.
If ya start blowing diffs, check that rear bulkhead, spent good money after bad on diffs to find a small crack in my rear bulkhead. New bulkhead and no probs. and badlands equal little jumps. But thats what the kraton is for
Hey man how would you compare the xmaxx to the erevo 2.0? Is it worth the extra 300+ dollars? Does it drive totally different? I have an erevo and am just curious thanks.
Its very different. Not even close. The Xmaxx is bigger, heavier, slower, and doesn't control in the air as well as the E Revo. The E Revo is a stunt truck. After driving the Xmaxx a bit, I forget how nimble an RC can be when I pick my E Revo back up.
when you ride oin the 2 side wheels you WANT the 2 upper wheels to spin and baloon.. that gyro effect theyll have is a massive help in balancing on its side.
Hey I have one too the xmaxx club is fun but there are some upgrades you should do to like upgrading the a arms to the better rpm a arms using some washers on the body where all the screws are upgrade the esc to a hobby wing upgrade the pinion and spur to solid metal also beef up front and rear diffs you dont have to do it all at once but those are some weak spots
Just a heads up. Be aware of leaking shocks, spur and pinion shredding to pieces and esc jolts "where it will stop and re go". Oh and it looks like you've already experienced the body failure for a 30 plus pound truck. I love the truck but my God the leaking shocks nearly made me sell this truck. Because of all the issues it has.
I was waiting until April for my Birthday to buy an X-max but I got drunk and ordered one today

If this ESC fails I'll get a Max6.
Nice truck I hope to pick up this orange edition Xmaxx also it looks great
Also take drywall mesh tape and shoe goo on the inside of the body to make it stronger don’t bother with the rpm wheely bar. Pick a hinge pin mod you like. Run rpm a arms all around hobby wing max 6 or 5 esc
Good Video. I am looking forward to seeing your future plans for the X-MAxx work out good.
It’s never to late to join the club. One of a kind machine, have fun.
I’ve had three bodies and that never happened to mine. The badlands are great, very heavy though, get steel stub axles from hot racing if you’re gonna run the badlands, I kept tearing up the stock aluminum stubs
This thing is a big daddy. 🤤🤤 I don't know when I will get my own.😭
I've given up on Traxxas.
I'm still loving my E Revo 2.0. Its one of my favorite RC's. I've not been impressed by what I have seen out of the Kraton.
which one would you pick if u had to have one the xmaxx or the maxx with the wide kit just for overall bashing and having fun!!! great vids luv em!
Thats a hard choice. They are so different. If you have the space to run an Xmaxx, it may be better. The Maxx is a lot of fun and its super quick. It also does flips very easily.
YOU FINNALY GOT A MIGHTY X MAXX! congrats man and you said you wanted it take so there it is!
Yep!
Outsourced RC awesome thank you I love my erevo
Nice pick up can’t go wrong with a xmaxx
I really like the black edition. Congrats on a cool car 👌🏻
Thanks!
Nice ,congratulations,🎉I want this 👍🏻
Cool footage man. I'm thinkn bout getting one..
How well did the washers work after u installed them sir?
@@brandonoliphant6587 Fantastic. I think they come with body washers stock now. I think they also have a washer kit that is made for the body.
You deserve way more subscribers love the channel and congrats on the xmaxx
Indeed very cool mate 👍👏👏 big like and high five from Denmark Lase
when you ride oin the 2 side wheels you WANT the 2 upper wheels to spin and baloon.. that gyro effect theyll have is a massive help in balancing on its side.
Plus I haven't jumped mine yet until the rubber bushings come in. Only 8$
You'll love the new body it has Square washes
Yeah I saw. I actually have the washers. I just never put them on.
My RC shop has the orange one to. And it’s the first one I seen in person. And man!! It looks grate? Better then red and blue.
Great color!!
I agree!
I'm going to replace things as they break. I like to see how RC's run while they are stock.
Wow, awesome, nice car!
Thanks!
Stock differential fluid comes in a huge tub 20 million weight...tub Looks like tub of vasoline but way thicker.
Hell yea brother! 👍
Happy birthday 🎉🎂🍰🎁🎊
Thanks!
Nice have fun with it.
this is the first channel i watch where they actually respect it, i think everyone else just has so much money they dont care lol
I am not rough on my RC's off camera.
