As a ChineseAmerican you actually have a good representation for Asian food 😂 never see it much in the homesteading sphere. I like your setup!

First things first, your pantry is beautiful! Second, a note about the baked beans: As soon as the sugar is added, they will stop softening. So, if you are finding them tough, try boiling them a little bit longer before adding the other ingredients. 😊

To use up salsa make breakfast wraps! I make ten on Sunday then keep them in the fridge and heat them up in a mini sandwich press to crisp them up when we want one. Fry your egg”omelette style”, place on tortilla, add some salsa and shredded cheese, then roll up and place them in fry pan to ‘seal’ the rolls. We go through a pint jar a week.

    • @sparkmanhomestead

Older video...great pantry. I canned 3 jars of pickles this year...for other people. I do NOT like pickled cucumbers at all. So you are not alone. I also loathe the grocery store. LOL Thanks for including the links to the recipes, very helpful. Looking forward to checking out your channel!!!

You could make magnet backed labels or add a long length of Velcro along the front so you can place your labels with Velcro backs in any location without having to move tags you placed under a jar.

I cleaned out my side by side refrigerator today and goodness the amount of stuff I found that I had forgotten about. 😊I’ve gone through the pantries as well. I think hubby and I are pretty set for the winter except for dairy items. We have enough to share with our daughter and her family of 5.
I just recently started the journey of being a stay at home wife (started the full time journey last year).

double up the soil over the roots of your trees, and then wrap the trunks in the winter. make sure it's something that is water proof. that will help keep the trees from getting to cold when it frosts. some trees will bud again if they are well protected in the springs and you get your fruit that way. problem is most people don't know these tricks to keep plants protected because they've been lost over the years

Even though the family is not at home all the time. Collect some of the long-term basics. Beans, rice, and wheat. They keep a long time, and they are relatively inexpensive compared to most other food. If needed they can be used with you regular food.

My Satsuma is loaded this year. I bought a steamer juicer. So easy to make orange juice. Using Ruth Ann's method: no canning needed. I had a lot of pulp left over so today I made orange-banana jam. Oh my goodness! It is delicious! I found the recipe in the New Ball Canning Cookbook. I didn't think I wanted bananas in orange jam. I was wrong! So, now I'm excited about making jam from the byproduct of OJ .
