"I skipped to the end of the video and now I am mad"
I just got here and I've already decided that I am upset
I was not happy prior to clicking the video
Are you supposed to do something other than that?
20:30 This video was in my recommended. I had a terrible feeling I knew which name was gonna be on this list. RIP Johnny Gaudreau.
I know he was referring to Utah but Shannon saying "Again there is no stress of what is going to happen tomorrow. Are we still going to be here?" just before writing Gaudreau's name was really sad.
It was in my recommendations, too. Holy crap!!!! Wow!
RIP Johnny Gaudreau 😢
billy bob eklund will score one sharkillion hat tricks and lead the league in hats worn
they’re gonna sell a sharkillion dollars in tickets
This just popped-up in my recommended feed (August 31st).
20:35 stings….RIP brother
Larkin was on pace for 40 goals last season. He's more motivated than ever to get back to the playoffs. I won't be surprised if he comes out with some new energy.
He’s mid tho
@@ryanlauzon177 He's put up some pretty good numbers on some pretty fucking awful wings teams. He is certainly not mid, just has bad injury luck.
@@ryanlauzon177 bro just called 69 points in 68 games mid...
@@strahinjagov he’s terribly mid
Larkin I find to be a highly underrated player. Hes a good leader, skates well, and now has some great teammates to back him up. He drives his line quite well. And as a hometown kid, im sure hes motivated to make the post season more than most. LGRW 🐙 🏒 🤘
So sad that we will never see Johnny Hockey come thru as your pick for this video
I would love to see you do a “hot take” video where you give one hot take on all 32 teams. That would get people riled up :)
They're all hot takes for the haters
If Korpisalo bounces back, and Ullmark goes cold, we then know for sure that the problem was sens defence rather than goaltending.
And Blue Jackers defense, where Bobrovsky and Merzlikins (save for the last year he was there, the up year) outplayed him almost every year behind the same exact team.
It’ll either be another up season or more like Bob Essensa is a miracle worker than anything else.
@@andersbondensson2042 Ulmarks Goals saved above expected was 14.8, which was 7th in the league, while Korpisalo was 97th in the league with a -16.1, that’s the second worst in the league. Goals saved above expected isn’t effected by defence like save percentage, the narrative of ullmark being a product of Boston defence is ridiculous especially since he put up good numbers in buffalo too
This is what will happen
@@BloodyInspired7 Yo, Korpisalo had like 20 goals above expected against the Lightning in the playoffs a couple of years ago. He even made NHL history by stopping the most shots in a single game. He can bounce back and I wouldn't be surprised if Ullmarks goes cold.
@@Terminatedd it’s very possible korpi bounces back, I’m just tired of the narrative that Ullmark won’t be good and korpi will do good due to the two teams defences since the stats shows otherwise
I've never seen so much negatively around an 89 point player in my life. Yes, Pettersson's points dropped off in the 2nd half and into the playoffs. But I saw social media posts arguing that he should just be traded for anything because he wasn't any good. Apparently, there are still those people who don't show you any respect unless you're born in North America and hit like a truck. The problem is that most of those kinds of players don't put up 89 points on a down year.
Size matters. Petterson got everything needed to be successful in NHL- apart from size. So when he sooner or later during those 82 games runs into that nhl truck
he will get injured. He looks like a figure skater about to get run over by Chris Pronger too often.
It's because of his contract. He puts up too few points for a guy getting paid $11.6mil per year. He should be putting up 100+ points at minimum.
Hockey fans are weird.
@@erikhalvorseth3950 The Sedins were the same exact way when they first got to the league. Too small. He needs to just put some weight on and he'll be fine, just like the Sedins did.
20:25 this didn't age well. RIP Johnny Hockey
It kind of memorializes his name in that position. heart breaking.
I'm not a Hyman or Edmonton fan but god damn that 54 goals was an admirable bump up in production! Yes, he played with amazing playmakers, but still, most others have been unable to do the same.
Ex-Zach-ly
RIP Gaudreau Brothers. When this popped up on my break today I had a strong feeling I'd be hearing his name.
Jack Hughes is such a treat to watch. Sweet hands, McDavid-type speed, incredible vision...
15:10 Dion Phaneuf had a weird 3 year run at the start of his career where it seemed like he was destined for superstardom, then he fell off and never got back to that level
Anybody else see this video for the first time today and skip to 20:27 just to wonder if you would see that name?
Rest In Peace, Johnny.
I think Tomas Hertl playing in LV with all that talent around him will have a great year. He a big body with some puck handling skill. He is like a slower Jack Eichel
I think a healthy Hertl can really have a great year. I’m excited to see what he can do as a Knight!
Johnny :(
Figured Laine would be the obvious choice 😉
Same here. My choice for Montreal.
@@JoeHockey-Flyers I'm seriously hoping that both Slav and Laine perform really well this year
@@Mukunda16108 They have a pretty interesting core developing for sure. Slav is going to have a real big season I think.
RIP Johnny Gaudreau!
Your videos are a treasure. Thank you for your talent and creativity.
I agree with you with Laf, I believe he's really going to jump into star status this year! LGR!
LGR
Stone was clicking right along last season before his spleen got lacerated. I agree that he’s motivated to contribute in a big way.
Aw man... as an Oilers fan, I really thought you could have used the Oilers spot to plug McDavid chasing down history and being the 3rd fastest player in league history to reach 1000 points. He needs to score 18 points in 10 games or less to pass Mike Bossy as the 3rd fastest player to do it cementing him in 3rd place behind Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. So look for him to have a hot start.
Laferriere is rumored to play with Kopitar on the 1st line to start the season as Byfield will transition to center the 2nd line. Laffy could not have asked for a better opportunity to breakout and be a top 6 guy. Looking forward to seeing what he does!
for my habs, i'm really looking foward Laine and Hutson. but i will still say that Primeau is the guy who could have a strong start of the season just because he's got the backup spot all to himself and he can challenge for the main job. he didn't play much last year but he has the skills to prove to Marty St-Louis that he's ready.
RIP Johnny Hockey
rest in peace Johnny Hockey
for buffalo... Tage is not a bad prediction. had a down year last season... but I would've picked Quinn.
Quinn and JJ need to go off this year. 👍👍
40 goal season incoming for Johnston
As a Sharks fan, I didn’t realize Eklund had so many points last season.. lol. Honestly, 45 points in 80 games on that team at 21 isn’t bad at all. I guess I was too focused on the poor team play and getting the 1st overall pick.
Bowen for Buffalo. Even though he impressed after coming over, Dahlen is still the attention-magnet. Bowen will benefit from the space, having settled in.
The Sabres attack went from oh wow to wha happen in one year; now they have to gel under yet another new Coach, albeit a familiar face in town. Just need certain players to produce like they’re capable of doing, no crazy expectations.
gaudreau would have had a terrific season this year for sure. rest in heaven johnny hockey. ❤️
Great video
This is a make or break year for Zegras. As a Ducks fan I'm fully expecting him to bounce back and prove the haters wrong.
Theres no way he could have seen this one coming, but that hits so much harder now
RIP Johnny.
I hope Buchnevich has a strong start. Worried trying to make him into a 2nd line center will hurt his production.
Stamkos joining Nashville is awesome since they need someone who can bury the puck with some consistency. They're gonna be a tough team to deal with this season.
But Dallas, come on! Johnston, Stank, Heiskenan and Otter.... it's just not fair 😎👍🤘🤙
Go Kings!!!
Buchnevich had a down year--I agree that he can be at least a point/game player. Hoping he looks as good as he did the first 2 years with the Blues at the least.
Only one choice for tampa? I understand for Guentzal but Vasi is having everything but not a strong start to the season I think
Again Tage was injured from november onward last year, im not worried about him in the slightest as a sabres diehard
Tage …is…a…BEAST…from a Habs fan
I’m not worried about Tage either.. Of those on our current roster I’m hoping for Cousins to get his mojo back and for Quinn and Sammy to stay healthy.
@@Jweldsandlifts decent players for sure
Blues fan here. Idk if I’m going to keep Tage or Adrian Kempe in my fantasy league
Taylor Hall isn't a 1st liner in the NHL anymore he'll end up on the 2nd or 3rd line this year most likely.
looking forward to Eklund performance this season
Love huge lists like this after a full work day!
Hoping Strome gets off to a great start for the Caps.
I can see Bobby Brink netting 20 to 25 goals this season for the Flyers.
I agree Slafs will take off this year in Montreal as he is now accumstomed to the NHL game and NA ice size... his game just took off in the 2nd half and that bodes well for this season.
He’s a turnover machine
@@michaeljan16No he's not.
Montreal as a whole may have a really exciting season this year, lots to look forward to if you're a fan.
@@michaeljan16clueless comment…
Georgie is a good choice. I would also say Miles Wood as well. Gonna really need him to stay consistent this season. Georgie can be a good goalie.
Nah, Utah isn't technically an expansion team. Relocation.
For purposes of record they are
Z looked a million times better once he finally got healthy. I’m predicting a big breakout year for him.
How Interesting....PLD should be the hottest player for the Caps with his chance at a new beginning....but then there's that sad thing called Reality.
I think it's Chychrun. It's a contract year for him and I think he's going to turn it on early and secure the extension from Washington.
Dallas is one of the few teams that actually can rebuild on the fly.
Please explain.
@@Raymond-g9o all the older core is being replaced by savvy drafting.
Kyrou is mine. He’s scoring 40g this year for the Blues
He certainly has the talent, but I'm not sure he has the drive. I hope you're right.
@@adlibriumhe is a bit of a mommas boy but he can play. I assume the lack of effort we see sometimes is because everyone knows we’re subpar. But this season needs to be better because the team is better. (On paper)
I hear that Patrick Kane guy is pretty talented
I could see the pressure on Stamkos in Nashville and Matthews in Toronto causing them to have slow starts.
I can't believe nobody is talking about Hyman's 84 goal season. He wasn't even in the Hart conversation haha
Stammer’s games against the Bolts are gonna be fun lol.
Stone needs to have a strong first 40 games so he can rest for the playoffs again.
Jack is always hurt so thats a risk, i wouldve went with Timo. IF timo and Nico stay together Timo should have a good start.
As a Calgary fan, I trust Shara more than Huberdeau at this point
Some line combo charts I've seen show Laferriere playing on Kopitar's wing with Kempe on the other. Considering how well that worked for Quinton Byfield, I sure hope that happens. Thanks for the video, THG.
Hyman really surprised me in the playoffs, very happy to have him.
Swayman will be signed and will be in training camp. Bruins fans have been losing their collective minds all summer. But it will get done.
I hope Korpi does well. I always liked him in Columbus.
would have had Matthew Tkachuk for the Cats & Seth Jones for the Hawks... but, good video, nonetheless
I look forward to Huberdeau finally finding his fit on the team and producing again. It will happen, I have forseen this
Nope
What i really want to see for the Red Wings is for Raymond to come out hot. He took a step forward last season, and I'm looking to see him continue with the upward trajectory.
Laf needs to be on PP1.
If St. Louis insists on Buch at center, it will suppress his point total. He is not a center. Come on Dvorsky, develop quickly!
For the Canucks, I think Dakota could come out strong to start. I think he will want to show that last season was no fluke. Provided he gets paired with Garland on the other side, I think he stands a good chance to come out strong.
That Red Wings hat is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As a Ducks fan I really hope you're right about Zegras, so that Verbeek get's more back when he trades him ;)
He isn't getting dealt bro
Ex - "Zach - ly where he needs to be" Hyman. Reaching?
I think you're wrong on several of the western teams Ana is probably going to be Vatrano, he played lights out last year and he's in a contract year this year. Stl is Neighbors after all the offseason moves he'll be eager to remind everyone he's still there and only missed 30g cause he got hurt at the end. Hertl is going to love playing for a better team in Vegas
Curious to know if you filmed this before the Habs traded for Laine. Mind you I agree Slaf should have a strong start, but Laine is a veerry interesting candidate for a strong start
Hall should have stayed in EDM. Think of the possibilities. EDM have like 4 cups by now with Hall, McJesus, and Draisaitl. Him wanting a trade to a cup contender is buffoonery.
I might have chosen Owen Tippett for Philadelphia. Tortz seems to really like him
In NJ , I expect Keefe to make a big difference offensively.
Look for a Mercer to take the leap this season.
Likewise, do not sleep on Jesper Bratt in NJ. Last 2 seasons were career years and this season Bratt should be primed for an offensive explosion. Dont sleep on NJ this season .
Laferriere my fellow Jersey boy, I hope he does well. Kenny Agostino another Jersey Boy, a few years back coming off strong college career could not quite break into a lineup. I want my state repped more.
As a Capitals fan, I think that Lapierre might outscore McMichael. One of them is probably going to be the 3rd line Center, but the other might make the top 6 as a winger. I think Lapierre might outscore McMichael because I could see Lapierre playing wing alongside Strome or Dubois.
Whoever can build up good chemistry with Ovechkin is also going to be in a good spot for racking up points, and I think that Lapierre is more likely to take on the role that Backstrom had for so long. Lapierre reminds me much more of Backstrom and Kuznetsov when they were great alongside Ovechkin.
3:15 I’ll come back to this but no way it’s Matthews right?
Jack Hughes needs to hit the weight room. Unfortunately, not gonna happen this off season (again!) rehabbing the shoulder.
My boy! Where did you find that hat????
Connor brown about to have the most shorty goals in a season
Please stop saying Zegras is a “hot dog” player. It’s lazy analysis.
Why is anyone moaning about Pettersson getting 89 points!?? That’s very respectable
I'm a simple man. I see Slippery Pete in the thumbnail, I click.
Very much agree though, and I'd say they debatably have three lines now that can be productive:
Eklund - Granlund - Zetterlund
Wennberg - Celebrini - Toffoli
Bordeleau - Smith - Dellandrea/Musty/Gushchin
Mustys not making the sharks this year
@@U_r_hopeless He has a very solid chance. He made it to the very end of camp last year and absolutely dominated the OHL. But that's also why I added alternates, It's not a guarantee by any means
@@andystover1013 also bordeleau is not a lock
I still think it likely that Bussi makes the Bruins team, and if he doesn't they may lose him to Waivers. That has Korpisalo in Providence to 'get his game back'. I know this means they carry a good portion of Korpisalo's salary on the cap (can only bury ~ $1M).
I think Johnny Gaudreau will bounce back. Has anyone signed JVR ?
RIP Johnny
I expect Ovechkin to start strong this season after his disappointing start to last season. ~20 goals by the New Year to give himself a real shot at breaking the record late this season.
@cdfmmcc Yes. Last year something was clearly affecting him. Then the All-Star break happened and he became a whole new player.
wyatt johnston and miro heiskanen are the most underrated players in hockey rn. maybe roope hintz too. hintz get's 0 attention and maybe (just maybe) we could stop giving like 12 all star picks to the canucks or leafs and give more than 1 to the players on dallas who are like actually talented too cause hintz is as fast as mcdavid i've seen it in person
Lundell
I think Boston is in big trouble if Swayman isn’t signed to start the season
Yall are very sleep on Jack eichel…..
Early and good video
Anah, Zelwegr, 40pts?
- Could make ppl forget Drysdl
Bos, Lohre, played over 25 games last yr so technically not a rookie, but very good prospect. 30 pts as a sophomore.
Buf, Peterk & Quinn, both get 50-60 pts. Underrated players for Buf.
Cgy, something tells me this team plays for a bottom 10 spot, so no one really takes off. Vladr might surprise
Car, no one, my guess is they either miss the playoffs or just squeak in as a WC. No one has a great yr, but they blood some of their rookies in.
Chi, Korchin, 40 pts?
CLb, Fantil - 70 pts? Jirick, has the skill to get 35+ pts, also K.Johns can score 30 goals. Merzlikin rebounds has solid yr.
Col, Girard & Wood both get 45 pts
Dal, Stankvn, wins RoTY. Bourq, I think he finishes Top 10 in rookie scoring.
Det, Edvinss, former Top 10 pick should finally do something, 30 pts on 2nd pair
Edm, Embers, a solid D. 25+ pts
Flo, Lundel, can he finally hit 50+ pts?
LAk, Jeannot & Gavrik, 2 players LA needs them to rebound from less than average yrs. Jeannot - 40 pts Gavrikov, 25 - 30 pts
VGk, V.Olofssn - 40 - 50 pts
Mtl, Andersn, rebounds for 45 pts.
Min, Hartmn, 60 pts.
Nas, Tomasin or Evangelist, Tomasin has the skill to get 40pts, Evangelist 60 pts
NJ, Mercer, 50+ pts
NYi, no one, I bet they miss the playoffs
NYr, Kakk, Chytl, & K'A Mill, & Kakk scores 25-30 goals, Chytl gets 55 pts, Mill gets 40+ pts
Ott, Pint, Bathers, & Amadi. Pinto 60 pts? Bathers, 70+ pts, & Amad 35+ pts
Phi, Frost - 50 pts & Brink 40+ pts
Pit, Beauvili & Glass, 40 - 45 pts
StL, Hollowy, 40 - 45 pts, & Perunov, 30 pts (can he get 20 pts?? he has the skill)
SanJ, Eklnd, 60 pts, & Zetterlnd, 50 pts
Sea, Wrigh, 55 pts. Has to hit 50 pts, showed he has skill in his late season call up.
Tam, Mosr, I think there is 40 - 45 pt Dman there soon enough. Atkins, I bet he is motivated - will score 20 goals, 40pts.
Tor, Knies, 55 - 60 pts on the Top 6. Kampf & OEL would be two under the rated players I think have good yrs.
Uta, Kerfoot rebounds get 40 pts, Durz also gets 40.
Van, Sherwd & Heina both get 20 goals, & DeBrsk gets 65 pts.
Was, Mangiapan, 35 goals? McMichae gets 50 pts. L.Thompsn becomes the starter before yr end.
Wpg, Barrn, Perfet, & Vilard. Barron - 40 pts, Perfett & Vilard could get 60 - 65 pts
Forwards are easy picks for this, defenders have to be obvious picks to choose instead
Huberdeau will not EVER have a “great” start with the flames. He needs a change.
I say Mo Seider for DRW
EP at 100% for 82 games drops 100+ points ez
