I don't know about that. Think about what you're using to read this message, the enormous number of people that made that possible are much smarter than one guy named George Carlin. George was good at relating what he observed and formed opinions on. He was good at using humor to do it, and made a fine living that way without having to figure out how to design and manufacture a processor core, a motherboard, or a network interface controller.
And that's so true, George. Just look how messed up things got real quick. Kiss your cell phone goodbye and get ready to bring out the soup cans and string. You'll see what I mean in may or is it June? Watch and see.
Humanity faces much more grave crises now than 200 years ago, and those crises make a long list. I'm happy for Glenn that he's an optimist, but not all of us think and process reality that way, as human beings, other living beings, the essential, material environment, reason, and apparently, many other traits that have characterized human beings for millenia, are threatened by the accelerating stupidity and corresponding avarice of a relative few of us for the sake of their egos, their indulgences in a contrived economic system, and lack of compassion and empathy. Government, by and large, works for those few, and not for the many.
We get what the people want, and half of them love people with the same intolerant narrow views, that they themselves have. Thank you George for plain talk.
I love a geezer’s perspective. Putting out your thoughts and ideas shows how powerful thinking is at any age and that the value of humanity should always be prized. Keep on!
I think I love your mind, very dearly ❤just as real as can be, thank you for your deep thoughts❤ Cheers to the more pleasant life. I understood, I don't know how so many have let government control people's minds & time.
As a Yankee who currently lives in Alabama (long story), I often turn to George Carlin to keep me sane. Thank you for your commentary. It is nice to listen to an intelligent perspective. You are very dapper!
I wonder what country he would have considered less crazy! If Mr. Sir-Yes-Sir did a tour in the Middle East or even Vietnam for example, I bet he was mighty glad to get home!
That was a great talk, thank you. Speaking of philosophers, something that Bertrand Russell said makes a lot of sense: "Part of the secret to happiness is to realise that the world is a horrible place." That doesn't mean we should give up on trying to improve things, not at all, but as you so aptly said at the end, "It is what it is."
Plato was famous for his antidemocratic views and he preferred an aristocracy like Sparta had. Just because our current situation is broken is reason to try to improve rather than accept the dysfunction. Ignoring politics is even worse. Pericles, the famous Athenian democratic leader said, "You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you." Plato and Pericles lived at the same time in Athens and they knew one another, and especially they both knew Socrates.

Critical thinkers question overt political theater and asinine mainstream narratives. While bias is human nature, independent journalists are preferable to corporate/gov't shills.

Yes, George Carlin was great comedian and he's comedy was right on the money. We all laughed and enjoyed but how many of have really acted upon his comments? For example, voting. How many gave up on voting? How many of us really blame ourselves for electing politicians that time and again don't do what they promised? Yes, let's stop whining and find more time to educate ourselves and vote intelligently. If politicians let us down don't elect them again.
Well, whatever you're going to do, you need to soon, because its Almost over... the aliens are going to land next year, hope you are around for that! 🎉
Sir, my recommendation for you would be to turn away from it All. Everything, and enjoy your last year's in good health and mind. Let it go brother, it's not your concern anymore, I say that respectfully. Do what you want that doesn't cause you any suffering and head aches
I invite you to watch the video titled, "Jesse Ventura | 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read | Talks at Google". He enlightened me on a lot about what's really going on.
George Carlin knew the problem way back then.
He got it on his own. He didn't have to study. So many study and still don't get it.
George Carlin is the smartest person I've ever seen! He was ahead of his time and he understood the world better than anyone else!

Carlin was a great philosopher! Half of his appeal was that what he said was (albeit seen through a comedic lens) was true.
You Sir, are absolutely right, let me add....The animals of the Jungle have the best Democracy. In this out planet
''America is basically finished, we're just paying out the end game'' ~ George Carlin
I feel exactly the way this man does, I’m 75 and tired of what the current Republican Congress has done our country.
Wise words. Thank you.
