      He wrote the book on the "MSM" before it became a catchphrase. You gotta be able to recognize someone who stands for truth. He doesn't even talk ideologically much. He likes to talk about hypocrisies, logical errors and inconsistencies instead. THAT is what we need to do today because we fall for soo much trickery because our political/media heros make us feel like we know things when in reality we're desperately inept. We need a complete reorientation.

    • @Len124
      @Len124 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bmphil3400 True, but my compass doesn't point left over right in the way I prefer chocolate over vanilla or the Yankees over the Red Sox. I have certain core values I try to maintain without one precluding the other, or the particular superseding the principle, or exceptions compromising the fundamental; while simultaneously attempting to prevent those ends (as in, the values) from justifying immoral means. While those root values may not be strictly objective, I imagine if I laid them out we'd all agree (democracy, basic human rights, dignity, an aversion to unjustified power structures, etc.). From that point, however, there are certain positions on issues and systems of governance that either do or do not meet those criteria and, therefore, are no longer a matter of personal taste.

    • @bmphil3400

      @@Len124 the true problem all over the world is that for some reason corrupt people naturally gravitate to centers of power...ie the government. Chomsky rightly criticizes corporate influence on government......but capitalism is not the root of the problem. The problem has never been fixed no matter what the system of government. The middle East theocracies to the Russian and Chinese communists to the French socialist have never solved the problem of corrupt political hierarchy. They need things like zero tolerance laws for politicians......you get caught taking a bribe, dui, groping staff, deleting evidence, setting up sweetheart deals etc you should be fired immediately and your job considered forfeit......but because they make and enforce the laws....nothing ever happens. I hold a professional license. To keep that, I have to take ethics classes, professional development and sign affidavits every year that I have had no more legal trouble than a traffic ticket. Why then am I held to such a rigid standard but politicians can be caught with a live boy or a dead girl and pretty much get it swept under the rug?......When you solve those problems then you can have an ethical government with honest people......that is the only factor that will really make a difference.

      @@markanthony3275 The Bible is a lie. Do you even know the origin of the Bible? Ancient Sumerian writings. If you study them you'll be shocked to see the similarities. Who pieced the modern Bible together after confiscating all others? Emperor Constantine, at the request of his mother.

    • @markanthony3275
      @markanthony3275 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrVidLuv Have you considered that the Sumerians writings were fashioned after the original account of Genesis? Sumerian writings do not have the depth of explanation or the depth of meaning that the accounts in Genesis have. Here's why the Bible has been proven to be historically accurate...I'll give you just a few of many reasons.
      - Daniel's prophecy of the rise of Antiochus Epiphanies...date of the prophecy? 586 B.C. How do we know that? It was the second year of the son of Nebuchadnezzer's reign...lots of documentation confirms this date from sources outside the Bible. What was the prophecy? That the Babylonian kingdom would fall, that the Medes and Persians would takeover, and then they would be beaten by Alexander the Great "the warrior king". The warrior king would be cut off with no heirs, and his kingdom would be divided between his four generals...out of this Antiochus Epiphanies would arise and corrupt the kingdom of Israel. This all happened as prophesied...Antiochus Epiphanies did come into being, and did destroy and enslave Israel around 164 B.C. ...that's 300 years after Daniel wrote down the prophecy. Now...people like you have said that it was all made up well after it happened...except for one major problem. All historians have dated the Dead sea scrolls as being written around 194 B.C. there is unanimous consensus on that...but in the dead sea scrolls they found a part of the book of Daniel...so it could not have possibly been written after the fact.
      - The prophecy that as a warning to the world that God's judgement on all evildoers was immanent , the nation of Israel would reappear as a nation back on it's own land. "Can a nation be born in one day? " the prophecy said. And in April of 1948, the nation of Israel reappeared after having been destroyed almost 20 centuries earlier...in one day. Do yo really think that's just coincidence? How many other nations have disappeared for twenty centuries and then suddenly re-emerged? NONE
      - The prophecy that during the apocalypse , as part of the punishment on evildoers , God will cause the sun and moon to be darkened and not give one third of their light...and that he will cause the wind to cease blowing all over the entire world. When this was written 2,000 years ago nobody had the remotest clue that the world would undergo industrial development and then attempt to move to generating energy from solar panels and wind turbines. Deny that if you can.
      I know what your problem is...you know that the Bible is true because your reasons against it are flimsy...and ...you don't READ. Because if you did read the Bible and compared it to all the archeological evidence out there from non-Biblical sources that you can actually see for yourself in museums all over the world...you would see that there is overwhelming historical evidence that the Bible is historically accurate. As the saying goes among archeologists "Every time a shovel goes in the ground in Israel...another skeptic is buried".

      You all keep saying that Trump,s threat to the environment is the worst. However no examples of this are provided. Would someone care to state exactly what Trump did that was such a threat to the environment. Also Noam said that Trump gave Oil and Gas companies subsidies. This false, in fact Oil and Gas companies do not get any "subsidies" at all. Oil and Gas is one of the most heavily taxed products in the country. In fact the taxes collected by the counties and cities where the Oil and gas is produced is often the biggest tax revenue income that they have. Also, royalties paid to land owners who own the mineral rights benefit greatly form this income.

    Noam Chomsky really lost me after his excessive praise of Hugo Chavez's Venezuela. Extensive government reform that Chavez enacted only confirmed the criticism of socialist like societies.
    A powerful few who wield too much control over the economy. Enacting huge social services with no reliable way to afford them in the long term.

    • @matthewkopp2391
      @matthewkopp2391 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elmo I think the situation is crystal clear. Venezuela is a nation with a huge supply of petroleum natural resources. And US corporate interest wants to control those resources. A person can argue about specifics in regards to Chavez's governance.
      But the idea of nationalizing the oil industry should not be very controversial. Norway has nationalized its oil industry and created a social welfare state through that. And to a lesser extent Alaska within the United States has demanded a dividend to its citizens for the use of public lands. What has happened in Venezuela is US corporations want control of it so they will do whatever the can to gain control including demanding the US apply sanctions, and actively destroying Red Cross aid etc.

    • @tjti2631
      @tjti2631 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Saucy Pupper people on the left seem not to have a clue as to what’s going on at the border. The asylum laws need the people to be held while their claims are being processed and so they’re forced to stay at camps . They can be released into the country but that simply amounts to open borders and subsequently disenfranchises the working class citizenry. The asylum laws can be restructured in such a way that such dire conditions can be prevented but democrats have resorted to obstructionism and hypocrisy rather than pragmatic problem solving in order to have something to point to and say”ha ha orange man bad” . The fact is that unmitigated border traffic is problematic to the citizens of USA and trump is right to try to have full operational control over the border.Drawing arbitrary similarities between all forms of camps and the holocaust camps reveals a gross ignorance of history that is almost dangerous. Look as you can tell I’m a lot more educated than you so just drop the CNN talking points . It doesn’t work in the real world

    For anyone to focus on or discuss 'Trump", is not only moronic but perpetuates a fraud that has existed in the US since 1776. The so called 'President of the United States' is nothing more than a puppet whose real purpose is to give the ignorant masses the illusion of a 'Democracy'. The individuals that own and control their respective countries have existed since the creation of nation states, territories etc.
    Any government official whether appointed or elected, merely serves as a middle manager as in any corporate structure. The US has never been ruled by any government. The "Owners" create Domestic and Foreign Policies to serve their economic interests in every sector imaginable. The following represent the controlled institutions that have enslaved the american people: The Military Industrial Complex, The Medical Industrial Complex, The Religious Industrial Complex, The Prison Industrial Complex, The Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex and the Entertainment Industrial Complex.
    The millionaire English Founding Fathers created the US by stealing the real estate from 'Mother England and murdering the indigenous natives of North America. The American Revolution was nothing more than a war of the "Ruling Class" of landowners to enrich themselves. Of all the industrialized nations in the world, Americans are by far the most ignorant and stupid people to be found. That very stupidity is what permits the "Owners" to do anything they choose. The main purpose of a military force is to Protect and Safeguard the wealth and control of the "Power Elite" Chomsky appears to be nothing more than a public figure to project an illusion of dissent and democracy.
