Poor Egg Shen. He got fed up with the city after these events, and obviously moved out to the desert to get away from monsters, open up a small shop. But the monsters followed him. RIP

Actually he moved to Tibet. Ran into "The Chosen One", and while talking to him he picked his nose, came out with a booger which he rubbed on his coat in which it froze and he scratched himself on it.
That's what makes Jack Burton so awesome. Does not do shit for most of the movie, he reactions are priceless and he kinda acts like a audience member. He is in disbelief the whole time of the events that are going on and just goes with it. From what I heard, John Carpenter wanted a Asian lead but knew studios would not fund his movie that way. So he made Jack Burton a tag along friend with Wang Chi. It worked. But never forget. Jack Burton is a great man, and we are in his debt and showed great courage.
Love this movie. So many memorable quotes: Jack Burton: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail." Gracie : "I'd go with you but..." Jack Burton : "I know, there's a problem with your face." Lo Pan : "Shut up, Mr. Burton! You are not brought upon this world to get it!" Jack Burton : "You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?" Thunder : "Who?" Jack Burton : "Jack Burton, me! ...Ol' Jack always says...what the hell!"
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Absolutely. It's amazing... what other movie has action, comedy, romance, sexy heroes, magic and supernatural beings, big trucks, crazy group battles, and an Egg?!
"He's so disrespectful!" James Hong steals every scene as Lo Pan, young or old (but especially old). His 'little old basketcase on wheels' performance is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 "Now this really pisses me off to no end!"
Yeah that’s how us OG super truckers used to do it talking on the radio about absolutely nothing fighting for no reason and talking about the most absurd things
@JL. Top 5 favorite "B" films of all time. John Carpenter did this, Escape from New York AND Starman as well as 5 great horror films. One of the top directors of his era. The Jake Burton character is a sidekick with the Asian actor as the star but at the time so few leads were Asian. This would NEVER get made today. It is a Western, Kung Fu, Romance, Science Fiction, Action, Comedy. Just amazing so glad you fell in love with it
Kurt Russell has always been a great actor growing up i remember that most of his movies are not blockbusters but you are going to rent it if you see it at the blockbuster
With his appearance as Ego in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, Kurt Russell became the only actor to appear in both Marvel's MCU and the original MCU. (the Medfield College Universe) 😁
Kurt is definitely the man. This movie is just ridiculous levels of fun. To this day I'm amazed something so balls-to-the-wall freaking NUTS was ever approved by a studio.
I grew up with this movie. Had me saying "Sonnava bitch must pay!" Well before I got into 1st grade * Girl I was friends with and kinda sweet on back in HS, her dad did the effects for the lightning guy
"Then Ching Dai will be happy and my curse will be lifted!" "And go off to rule the universe from beyond the grave." "Indeed!" "Or check into a psycho ward, which ever comes first, huh?!" So many memorable quotes. I had a hard time choosing one. Because if the breakneck speed of this movie, I do recommend anyone watch this movie 2 or 3 times. These knives are used by all Gurkha military regiments in the British Indian Army. Studio Hacks Fact: Kurt Russell confessed on the DVD commentary that he was afraid of starring in the movie because he had made a string of movies that flopped at the box office. When he asked John Carpenter about it, he told Kurt that it didn't matter to him - he just wanted to make the movie with him. John Carpenter and Kurt Russell explain on the audio commentary that the test screening was so overwhelmingly positive, that both of them expected it to be a big hit. However, 20th Century Fox put little into promoting the movie, and it ended up being a box-office bomb. In addition, the film was released in the midst of the hype for Aliens (1986), which was released sixteen days afterwards. However, it went on to be a huge cult hit through home video. Carpenter and Russell explained that the reason the studio did little to promote the film, was because they simply didn't know how to promote it.
They should have promoted it as a buddy comedy/bad-ass action movie with supernatural beings and lots of romantic moments ;) They also could have just posted lots of photos of Kurt Russel and his true buddy... his amazing hair!!

I don't know why but the, "Hollow?" "Hollow." "@$#& it." cracks me up every time. it's simply Jack Burton being the proverbial Bull in the China Shop. The fact he's entirely useless until he does that one essential thing at the end of the movie is the thing that brings me back to this movie every year or two.
10:48 I lost my shit. That was one of the best reactions I have EVER witnessed to this movie! You want to watch this? LOL. Remember, back in 86, there were not too many tough guys. Arnold, Stalone, (older Eastwood, Bronson, and of course Chuck Norris). Kurt Russel was a comedic bad ass. Your review will be interesting. Your content is always great
I love this movie! The problem with mortal kombat movies is they try to explain the super powers, this movie gives no explanation just sit back and enjoy:)
I'm so glad you caught this movie. Kurt Russell is one of the dopest action actors in the biz!! Ya gotta check out Escape from New York. Great movie! Keep it up and give Blank my warmest thanks and regards! Night-night!
One of the funniest martial arts action comedy fantasy movies ever made. This was originally going to be a western taking place in 1906 with Jack Nicholson or Clint Eastwood in the role Jack Burton, a gunslinger meeting up with his childhood friend, Wang Chi, an expert in martial arts and ancient Chinese mysticism. They try to stop the evil sorcerer Lo Pan from conjuring an earthquake that threatens not only San Francisco but the entire world. There were talks of a Sequel and a reboot with Dwayne Johnson as a trucker trying to figure out what happened to Jack Burton and why he disappeared as well as teaming up with Burton to stop Lo Pan once and for all. This would be cancelled due to the Fox Disney merger in 2019.
Oh hell yea I’m here for this one!!! Literally one of my all time favorite movies growing up as a kid. Did you ever have those movies that you use to watch as a kid that made you start jumping off couches???? Lol every time I would see this movie as a kid, I would do karate kicks lol And yes, Mortal Kombat wouldn’t exist because of this movie
JL and Blank super doing us right with this movie. This channel is so big now, I have to apply for a license to send a comment to Blank's secretary to have her send the inter-office memo to JL. GOOD TIMES.
The reason why I love this channel so much is because we think so much alike. From all of your reactions, almost all of them is what I’m already thinking in my head but beforehand is can say it you do. Keep your reaction game going bro. Will be a patron this weekend
If you like this movie, you may also like The Golden Child (1987) with Eddie Murphy. It's similar in vibe, uses some of the same actors (James Hong, Victor Wong). Eddie plays a private eye who's hired to find a missing child. This takes him to Nepal to fight an ancient demon. It's not very well known but a great and fun 80's movie. It's Eddie in his prime. This movie is what you get if you mix Beverly Hills Cop with Big Trouble in Little China.
Jack Burton: Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.
This was in heavy rotation in the 80s in HBO back when there was just one HBO, so I grew up watching this movie. It isn't exactly high cinema endeavoring to win Oscars or anything but for a popcorn movie it's pretty fun. It is also because of this that when someone tells me 'See ya later' that I often reply, Never can tell.
I wouldn't say all the characters inspired MK characters, but there is one specifically that definitely inspired an MK characters and it's very obvious.💯😁
"Aren't you going to kiss 💋 her goodbye"? (Kim Catrall standing there waiting and thirsty) Jack Burton: (Pauses...looks....) "Nope". My favorite movie scene since it came out on VHS beta max, lol
Now you should definitely check out Tango & Cash, from 1989. If you like Kurt Russell in this, Tango &Cash is a must watch. It also stars Sylvester Stallone. Look it up.
"Don't flatter yourself, PeeWee" Haha ;) I LOVE Tango & Cash!! Kurt has been funny in so many movies, but seeing Sylvester Stallone funny and sometimes quiet in that one and Demolition Man with Wesley... it's just amazing some of the star power that they put in these movies and I could care less what "critics" say!!
I have a funny story about this movie. I was probably 6 years old and this was on HBO. My mom was in bed, my dad was working 2 hours away from us in another town. I was laying on the couch watching this movie when a bat came through the fireplace and started swooping down at me. I put the cover over my head and went to tell mom. She went next door to tell my grandfather, who came over and caught it in a blanket. He told to get him a knife. I brought him a knife and he killed it.I always remember that when I see this movie.
I guess your grandpa saw the movie Bats and thought it was safer to get rid of it before it called its friends! We always caught them and released them in our converted barn house. They were great for cutting down on some of the bugs out in the country, but they sure wanted back into the barn and didn't care that it was our house instead lol
Same thing when I was 6 (don't remember what movie I was watching on HBO...maybe this, likely not) but my grandad got a rolled up magazine to beat the bat to death. Took, like, 15 minutes. Pap would stop every once and a while, and the bat was still breathing - broken ribs and stunned, little bat seemed to be wheezing, "just kill me, already!" Poor lil guy. After that I learned to not tell anyone and just get a broom and usher the lil fellas out the front door. (It happened a lot.)
Just making sure I'm getting this right. Some of you have family members who have tortured and killed bats in their homes. And you want people to know about it.
@@DMegaTronMD 😂😞 Taught me not to ask the "adult" in the room for help - especially when dealing with a fuzzy forest friend. When I worked at a horrible bakery in SF, they had those evil sticky traps to catch the many mice infesting the joint. I'd take the traps out back and pour olive oil on the lil fellas so they could get out of the traps + have a tasty snack. Got me fired, which was for the best.
Ah yes, another amazing 80’s movie. This movie is triple buck wild. Shit just goes off the rails in an alley in China Town and then never stops. The fun part about this movie is that Jack isn’t really the hero, Wang is. Jack is the sidekick but he thinks he is the hero. Some of the best cheesy dialog and just a wild story. Now when anyone asks if you have seen this movie, you can say “Have I paid my dues? Yes sir, the check is in the mail.”
You were surprised that Jack was delivering a load of pigs when he called his rig the "Pork Chop Express"? Asian cultures are often huge about Honor (with a capital H). Thunder was Lo Pan's chief bodyguard and his death was an abysmal failure of Thunder's duty - among warrior cultures, seppuku and similar rites are considered the only means one can absolve themselves for such failures.
Lol two things. First it’s the 80s you never know what you going to get and 2nd based on everything else about this movie what would make me think something normal would happen lol
Yes it is a great movie. I did enjoy your reactions. Kurt Russel is very versatile actor. He started young, he was the son of the Rifleman, then did 3disney movies as A college student, "The Computer wore tennis shoes"
The fact that you see Kim Catral and immediately say "Mannequin!" instead of Sex and the City made my day.
Don't forget Porky's
I see her and always think of Mannequin first :)
Hollywood gives you three snaps for that!

The subtle brilliance of this movie is that Jack thinks he's the hero, but he's the sidekick.
Did it before (and better) than Depp in the Pirates movies.
Yeah. I went there.

The scene where Kurt opens the door and all the guys are standing there gets me every time. 😂💀
The music sting in the pause, Jack slamming the door, followed by "We may be trapped..." is pure comedy gold.
" follow the leader, 1,2,3!"😅

Jack Burton: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Gracie : "I'd go with you but..."
Jack Burton : "I know, there's a problem with your face."
Lo Pan : "Shut up, Mr. Burton! You are not brought upon this world to get it!"
Jack Burton : "You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?"
Thunder : "Who?"
Jack Burton : "Jack Burton, me! ...Ol' Jack always says...what the hell!"
It’s all in the reflexes
Wang "The point is to look stupid."

Kim Cattrall's punchline delivery is on point.

BTW, you and Blank gotta be the best in the biz here too!! Always love your comments, reactions and your sense of humor. Top Notch!! Ya Crack me up all da time, son! Whether it's intentional or not. Keep it up and give Blank my warmest thanks and regards!
Night-night!
Now that you watched this I can't wait for you to see "The Warriors"
What a shame too. They would have made a great duo. If ever there was a sequel to be made...
@@RonnieG I hope they someday make a sequel... but not a remake! No one else could ever be Jack Burton!!
Oh hell yea I’m here for this one!!!
Literally one of my all time favorite movies growing up as a kid.
Did you ever have those movies that you use to watch as a kid that made you start jumping off couches???? Lol every time I would see this movie as a kid, I would do karate kicks lol
And yes, Mortal Kombat wouldn’t exist because of this movie
I gotta hand it to u bro, I love your sense of humor. Keep doing u, we all enjoy your content.
JL and Blank super doing us right with this movie.
This channel is so big now, I have to apply for a license to send a comment to Blank's secretary to have her send the inter-office memo to JL. GOOD TIMES.
when people ask me whats my favorite movie & this always comes to mind 1st & im not ashamed lol
Love this movie and they are making a sequel!!! Unfortunately Egg Shen - Victor Wong passed away 09-12-01 so R.I.P.
The reason why I love this channel so much is because we think so much alike. From all of your reactions, almost all of them is what I’m already thinking in my head but beforehand is can say it you do. Keep your reaction game going bro. Will be a patron this weekend
BEING 10 IN 86' WATCHING THIS WAS AN AWES0ME KID EXPERIENCE !!! AND YES , I THINK THIS IS WHERE THE IDEA 0F THE M0RTAI K0MBAT CHARACTERS CAME FR0M
I've watched 6 of your videos and you have taken my top spot for reaction videos. It's like you are in my mind!!! Keep it up!
Welcome to the family and much appreciated!
“Don’t look, jack!” “I already did!” Lmfao
The secret to this movie is Jack Burton THINKS he's the hero but he's really the sidekick 🤣
I had a ball watching this with you, J! This movie is just plain FUN! Have a great weekend, man! 😁 👊
One of the greatest fantasy-action flicks ever made and just plain one of the best movies ever made!
Ed Boon did say this movie inspired alot of mortal kombat
Top 5 favorite movies for me. Glad you enjoyed it.
another good action Kurt Russell movie (also has Stallone) with Kurt being Kurt...Tango & Cash
I haven't your reaction on this yet... but I'm here for it. Great movie one of my 80s favorite. I had the VHS I watched this countless times.
Burning blade sounds like an STD? Love your sense of humor!🤣
I wouldn't say all the characters inspired MK characters, but there is one specifically that definitely inspired an MK characters and it's very obvious.💯😁
This is one of my favorites.
Another movie you might like is "Soldier" (1998) staring Kurt Russell.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........
"Aren't you going to kiss 💋 her goodbye"?
(Kim Catrall standing there waiting and thirsty)
Jack Burton: (Pauses...looks....) "Nope".
My favorite movie scene since it came out on VHS beta max, lol
This the 2nd best movie of all time. The best being ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ 🤣🤣
That’s actually on the patreon page and will hopefully make it to YT sometime soon.
"If he didn't have that hat on. He would have saw that coming..." BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH! I love it! That comment alone got you a sub!
Welcome to the family!
Another one I've never watched looking forward to be there
Now you should definitely check out Tango & Cash, from 1989.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Just pure fun. So campy....I love it! Its supposed to be entertaining and mission accomplished.
as soon as i saw this pop up, i knew J would love it and will most definitely rewatch it
I have a funny story about this movie.
RIP bat
Overboard!
You're gonna love this movie
🤓👍👊 great Movie , have Fun
Yes it is a great movie. I did enjoy your reactions. Kurt Russel is very versatile actor. He started young, he was the son of the Rifleman, then did 3disney movies as A college student, "The Computer wore tennis shoes"
Kurt has been amazing us in movies for so many years and seems to be an amazing, caring family man as well.
Johnny Crawford was in The Rifleman as the son. Kurt was in a western series when he was 12, but it was a different show. ❤
