If you do 1 cup of rice use 1/4 knuckle and preheat the water first. No matter how much rice you're making on your rice maker, up to 3 cups, if you start microwaving the water first then get the rice out and add less water than normal, it'll be done wayyy faster. I hope he tries this for a video soon.. But the "rule" is about 1/3 knuckle for 1 cup, a little less than half for 2 cups, and half a knuckle for 3 cups

Most rice I've purchased comes fortified with vitamins. Rinsing it would remove the vitamins from the rice. Whether that changes the taste or consistency I haven't done enough testing on, but for sure there's reasons not to.
Nah, you should use plastic wrap. It creates a perfect seal which doesnt allow any steam to escape, and it will stretch to account for the build up in pressure from the steam production. Even an airtight lid won't work because it'll keep the steam locked in, but since the lid can't stretch, the pressure will eventually blow fhe lid off and send your rice all over the inside of your microwave. Plastic wrap is THE best way to prevent moisture loss when reheating or cooking something in the microwave. It's designed for stuff like this. It stays airtight, stretches to allow pressure build up, and won't melt into your food like a lot of plastic Tupperware will with enough time (or boiling water from making rice). Plastic wrap sealing containers is exactly how restaurants rehaeat line items if they don't have pots or a water table for them.
@@GR8APE69 but its also plastic and most are not made for high heat applications. If you use this hack make sure the plastic wrap says microwave safe or just use the bottom of plate that covers the container well, it normally works just as good.
