Is this Monitor better then the updated LG GS model? My concern is Color Shift and then Black beeing more Purple in Brighter rooms on the Samsung. I could get them at the same Price of 700 Euros
Oled has perfect blacks the only thing is QD-Oled blacks become more gray when you look at it from a different angel but from straight angel you get perfect blacks .
I am currently using a 300 nit IPS display and my brightness is always at 100. Like you, I wonder if the brightness will be better than my current monitor or if it will be insufficient. if you find the answer, I would be very happy if you let me know.
It’s a downside for OLED monitors at the moment since they’re not as bright as other types of panels at the moment. But I will say that the brightness of this G6 OLED is better than last years OLED monitors and for me, it’s bright enough to do everything I need it to
250nits on an OLED looks more saturated and vibrant than a LCD at the same level of brightness. But it'll never fare as well in brighter environments where a lot of modern LCDs can pump between 450 and 600 nits in sdr mode. 200nits is the recommended brightness for SDR content in the average environment anyway, and HDR 400 true black can be anywhere between 600 to 1000 nits(depending on the screen) on a comparable hdr1000 miniled. But it's a give and take, if you need brightness and dont mind the blooming of miniled, you can almost get the best of both worlds, inky blacks where the LEDs are off but insane brightness on 100% of the screen. But of course you lose all the benefits of OLED, like motion clarity and true blacks without blooming. You also don't have to deal with the annoyances of IPS being kind of grayish, or VA being smear city under very specific circumstances (especially if you use sharpening filters in your games and like it to be extra crispy)
Asus oled does not have 1000 nits thats peak brightness on a small area in HDR mode . Asus oled still only has 400 nits over the entire display . Thats just the current limitaion of oled you cant have realy bright panel or the lifespan is just to bad . If you want a realy bright monitor you need to look for Mini LED
I've owned a miniled and OLED, I think the overall package of HDR is more pleasant on an OLED, the miniled offers a big initial wow factor when you get blinded by the sun in a game that has a high white point in its sun 😂. Actually just in general, just for game enjoyment mini led is probably better at giving you a big wow factor. But the small highlights don't pop at all. I think gears of war 5 is a wonderful example of this. Early in the game you walk in a near pitch black area and the blue lights on on their armor is the brightest light in the scene. On miniled they look pretty dull, but on OLED they look fantastic. But because we focus more on the big details mini led seems more impressive from a glance. Color rendering on OLED is more distinct though in my opinion. You also have to deal with IPS or VA issues, as well as lower motion clarity vs OLED. As well as blooming if you're using it on a PC you'll see the miniled segments light up as your mouse crosses them. OLED overall is a better experience with less visual artifacts, but lower peak brightness and higher risk of burn in. If you're only playing on a game console, I'd be happy with either. If I were just casually watching TV I'd like the sdr brightness of miniled. But as a PC user and someone sitting close to my screen the artifacts of LCD tech are way too apparent compared to OLED. I've been spoiled 😂.
I'm between the OLED G6 and the Alienware AW2725DF. Could you tell me which one performed better in your tests? I would appreciate it if you could help me with my choice.
You absolutely don't need a 360hz .03ms monitor for work / office. I'd recommend saving money, maybe getting 4K (very optional, definitely 1440p though) / 165 hz, OLED with HDR if you're doing graphical stuff but it's not required for normal office work
@mario_gabriel Yes, absolutely he can do both, but I'm assuming he's only asking about office work. Absolutely don't spend money on this unless you are playing very specific competitive games, like FPS.
Cant wait getting it on monday next week sinc i was searching for a 360hz monitor but oled (for competetive games that i can achieve 360fps like valorant, cs etc and the oled display for single story or non competetive games where i dont really need to hit that high refresh rate but just for the colours and quality ) i was just curious if you noticed the pixel shifitng while playing games, and if its possible to do it manually off or on since im planning to make a pixel refresh manually after some few games in FPS games. i dont really care on single player games but it would be annoying if it happens during a match. Would be cool if you can set it manually :D
Bro, how about white colors, doesn't the monitor's brightness lower when there are colors like that on the entire screen? How about the brightness compared to last year's Asus and LG? Is superior?
Guys what’s the best option between these 27’’ OLED 2K monitors? Samsung G6 (2024) $700 LG 27GS95QE (2024) $700 LG 27GR95QE (2023) $600 I play on PS5 and looking forward to play games like Warzone and campaigns as well. Thanks!
Its hard to choose since I don't have them side by side, but I know you can't go wrong with either one. If you don't care about 360Hz, then I personally prefer LG's menu system which makes it easier to make changes
They’re completely different experiences, but because this G6 has a newer gen QD panel, it’s going to be brighter and way less color fringing. If you want something with newer OLED tech, try looking into the LG 34GS95QE which uses WOLED th-cam.com/video/DbRwUGeFv9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S2MJMC007TwMJqLU The asus PG34WCDM is also the same WOLED th-cam.com/video/eUK86VYfdGs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QogiKecEToeRBUe4 These are 2 34 ultra wide that i would recommend. Just keep in mind the curvature is aggressive (800R)
with the right tweaks you can make this brighter. This monitor response time and input lag for fps is unmatched with the other Oled on the market, I tried the MSI whcih is blurry and the Aorus which has terrible color volume and hdr. This destroys my G7 oddyssey I had.
Do you need to pixel shift every 4 hours like the dell oled displays or does that new "Samsung OLED+" feature with the cooling do everything passively?
Pixel shift is every x minutes automatically, but usually not even noticeable. It does pixel refresh when you turn monitor off (you will only notice this when you turn monitor off before it was finished by a message that it wasn't finished). But won't give a warning until like 6h orso and single click dismisses it. I've only seen it ones and usually game longer than 6h..so not sure why that message was, maybe because it didn't finish before when it went off for a bit when i was fixing dinner.
Is it just me or did he pretty much skip the part where he was supposed to say if GSync works with the monitor even though it is not technially compatible?
hey brother, have you noticed some type of flickering or artifact on the screen? I bought the same model and these problems have appeared, although rarely...

Before you buy this monitor. I had it for almost 3 months. I wish I never got it. The software is horrible. It keeps pop up the message "Optimization not completed" when I turn the monitor on. Every time I switch to a different input, it doesn't remember my previously used profile. More than half the time, my Macbook could not wake it up. I often wonder if they have done any user experience testing on this product.
Thanks for sharing your experience ! Hopefully future software updates can iron out those issues. The MacBook is a tough one, since this doesn't have USB-C, waking it up is not the best experience.
I am curious why OLED monitors are not being used in eSports fps games, they have better input lag and response time compared to TN panels. Can anyone answer? Thanks!
Pixel shifting and burn in potential is the only thing I can think of. Everything else about an OLED is absolutely optimal for high end play. I can imagine a pixel shift happening mid tournament, could ruin a match. ESports professionals care more for reliability, and familiarity. They practice sometimes more than 8 hours daily, so they actually need that reliability. If you look at the gear the pros use, most of them aren't using fancy 4k or 8k polling mice, or even good LCD monitors 😂. They also rarely change or upgrade their kit, because familiarity.
@@RitzyBusiness are you saying that OLED can only use to a limited time per day? @@arcywafu If you're using an OLED monitor that intensely, daily, your risk of burn in rises. Noticeable burn in is becoming less of a problem, but its not a solved. Some people are luckier than others. And some use their pixel refresh more diligently than others. I would honestly have an IPS for work and an OLED for gaming. Chances are if you're gaming on it a few hours a day you should be ok for a few years. Just make your hud in games transparent if its possible. Myy comment was mostly around e-sports level gamers, that desire absolute consistency in every aspect of their gaming system. Tournament players and the such. In which if I were in that demographic I would not be looking at OLED as my main competition monitor. If you're carrying around your monitor to competitions you are probably going to benefit from brighter LCD IPS/TN panels as well since OLED's need a more controlled lighting environment.
Honestly inzone m9 is still IPS panel. Right now the most noticeable and value upgrade is going to be oled. Maybe you just want the size and 4k but still, 4k doesn’t do much in 27”, you might as well consider 32” and there’s msi mag/mpg 271qrx/qpx. And for the price of this WOLED(matte coating), might as well get the lg 27gs95qe
I have been using this monitor for a week straight and I can’t get used to the brightness. Comparing it to my cheap G50A IPS panel it’s way to dim for me especially in COD MW3. I found my self switching back to my old panel when playing COD cause it was so much easier to see the enemy in game. Although I did get it with the Samsung discount at a decent price. I’m thinking of returning it and waiting until newer tech on oled comes out 😢
I currently have a 300 nits IPS screen and I use it at 100% brightness, if I lower it from 100% it seems dim. I ordered this screen and was waiting for it to arrive, but your comment made me think. Do you think it will affect me negatively in terms of brightness? As I said, brightness below 300 nits seems dim to me.
Well, from what I understand oled panels are not as bright as regular IPS panels. If you put them side-by-side, you will notice the difference in brightness, which was a big throw off for me because I didn’t think it was going to be that noticeable but for me it is and it makes all the difference when I’m playing games like call of duty and pubg. It’s just way too dim I mostly play FPS shooters and that brightness gives me a bigger advantage on recognizing the enemy. I noticed I do way better on the regular IPS panel. I’ve had the OLED for about a week now. And I find myself switching back to my regular IPS g50a panel for COD. On valorant it looks really good and 360 fps is nice but I wanted this to be my glory monitor. I think I’m going to wait for the Asus 460hrz oled coming out later this year. I heard it’s bright enough lol

How have you manged to get the audio to come out of the monitor speakers? Im struggling right now with that. I have nvidia 40 series card. Also when i click on the game, it changes the audio from headset to monitor which is very annoying correctly. I use steelseries sonar for my audio stuff
I'm pretty sure it doesn't have built in speakers 😅 I'm using the Edifier G2000 speakers connected to my Gaming PC. To get audio from PS5, I use the 3.5mm headphone jack on the back of the monitor
If you were to go on the menu on the monitor, you can see there's options to increase the volume up and down and also the ability to mute but now that you have mentioned the 3.5 headphone jack. I think it might be for that which makes more sense but the annoying thing is, the pc keeps on connecting to the monitor as my primary volume output when I want it for my headset. It's starting to really annoy me. I fear since this monitor is new, there's no one out there who can help with this problem yet. And regarding the firmware, yh I'm not sure if there's any out yet hence that's why I asked you ahaha
Yeah the volume control is for the 3.5mm H/P output. As for the volume switching, it’s a windows thing, because every new input detected it automatically switches. You can edit it in the volume control panel in the settings of windows to disable the monitor from connecting to audio
I think price plays a huge role and its a good size if you have limited desk space and its also easy to do a dual setup or triple setup. 27-inch is also perfect for 1440P resolution; and most PC builds are more optimized for 1440P gaming
My personal opinion: Gameplay section is so useless. I'm viewing how the monitor show colors ON MY OWN DISPLAY. What it's going to achieve aside from padding video time?
Yeah mine is stating it's HDMI 2.0 in the monitor settings. I'm thinking it's the cable being weird or something it says ultra high speed but I ordered another one and gonna test it to see

Help please, what speakers do you recommend for that monitor?
My favorite is the NZXT Relay Speakers on my main setup, and the ones on this video are the EDIFIER G2000 which also sound good for small speakers
Hi mate. Thanks for the review. I've purchased one yesterday. But specs sheet says brightness is up to 250cd. Is this a big downside? Is it bothering?
I am currently using a 300 nit IPS display and my brightness is always at 100. Like you, I wonder if the brightness will be better than my current monitor or if it will be insufficient. if you find the answer, I would be very happy if you let me know.
It’s a downside for OLED monitors at the moment since they’re not as bright as other types of panels at the moment. But I will say that the brightness of this G6 OLED is better than last years OLED monitors and for me, it’s bright enough to do everything I need it to
i have OLED G6 and there is no problem with 250cd, i am using 20/50 brightness and its very bright
@@petrmatousek2506 thanks for sharing 🔥I also agree. But I can understand for those that have very high brightness monitors switching to OLED
Does the monitor come with in-built speakers?
No
low nits and mate screen? asus oled is better option with glossy or miniled with 1000 nits
asus is dogwater
I've been spoiled 😂.
what settings do you use?
I'm between the OLED G6 and the Alienware AW2725DF. Could you tell me which one performed better in your tests? I would appreciate it if you could help me with my choice.

How's the text? Do you think this one is good for work/office stuff?
You absolutely don't need a 360hz .03ms monitor for work / office. I'd recommend saving money, maybe getting 4K (very optional, definitely 1440p though) / 165 hz, OLED with HDR if you're doing graphical stuff but it's not required for normal office work
@@dustinglenn829 maybe he wants to do both? you can do normal office work and play competitive games as a hobby
@mario_gabriel Yes, absolutely he can do both, but I'm assuming he's only asking about office work. Absolutely don't spend money on this unless you are playing very specific competitive games, like FPS.
Do you think it's better than the Asus ROG swift oled pg27aqdm?

Cant wait getting it on monday next week sinc i was searching for a 360hz monitor but oled (for competetive games that i can achieve 360fps like valorant, cs etc and the oled display for single story or non competetive games where i dont really need to hit that high refresh rate but just for the colours and quality )
i was just curious if you noticed the pixel shifitng while playing games, and if its possible to do it manually off or on since im planning to make a pixel refresh manually after some few games in FPS games. i dont really care on single player games but it would be annoying if it happens during a match. Would be cool if you can set it manually :D

How does this compare with the 34in Samsung oled monitor? I’m thinking about the extra real estate that the 34 would offer.
They’re completely different experiences, but because this G6 has a newer gen QD panel, it’s going to be brighter and way less color fringing. If you want something with newer OLED tech, try looking into the LG 34GS95QE which uses WOLED th-cam.com/video/DbRwUGeFv9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S2MJMC007TwMJqLU

These are 2 34 ultra wide that i would recommend.
Ive got the same monitor but my Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra doesn't do it justice 😂. Your footage is brilliant thanks
Do you need to pixel shift every 4 hours like the dell oled displays or does that new "Samsung OLED+" feature with the cooling do everything passively?
In my experience no you don't.
In my experience no you don't.

@@joshuaabreu9838 There is a setting like peak brightness in the settings, you can increase the brightness with a few settings. Have you tried such things?

Also when i click on the game, it changes the audio from headset to monitor which is very annoying correctly. I use steelseries sonar for my audio stuff
Also did you update your firmware from the get go? This is my first time owning a monitor which can be firmware updated 😂
I'm pretty sure it doesn't have built in speakers 😅 I'm using the Edifier G2000 speakers connected to my Gaming PC. To get audio from PS5, I use the 3.5mm headphone jack on the back of the monitor
Haven't updated firmware, not even sure if there is a new one. Just started using it from the jump

Why people prefer 27 inch ?
I think price plays a huge role and its a good size if you have limited desk space and its also easy to do a dual setup or triple setup.
27-inch is also perfect for 1440P resolution; and most PC builds are more optimized for 1440P gaming
