Absolutely beautiful boat. I can't wait to see how you set it up. Oxidean makes some of the best boats but seriously some of the least helpful videos. It's nice to see someone go over them in real detail. Gorgeous!
I have two mini Doms, carbon and yellow. The quality is awesome. They run perfect. They are seamless and the carbon pattern match from hatch to boat is insane on the carbon one. Lets not forget his props are kick ass too. You dont even have to sharpen or balance them.

Yes it's extremely light weight, gonna be at least a month or so till I get the right electronics for high-speed runs. We're gonna push this girl to her limit c'mon

Many years ago (mid 1980's) I had an all fiberglass boat similar to that Dominator although I think it was slightly larger since it was designed to take a 60 series 2-stroke RC engine. I was running it during a calm day in Oyster Bay Harbor on Long Island when _something_ happened with the radio. The last I saw of the boat it was going full send out into Long Island Sound . . . That really sucked because the receiver for the radio I was using was no longer available 😢
Oh boy, I've heard stories about gas/nitro "fly away/run aways" I've never lost a boat but I've had a couple run aways and it's scary to say the least.
@@IRONCLADRC Assuming it didn't get swamped right after hitting the sound Ghod only knows how far it got, IIRC it had the better part of a quart of fuel (two tanks drawing equally and pressurized by the exhaust) and was 42" long. Losing the Rx meant I also had to stop running my RC car since I moved the Rx between the two.
Hi What pt power motor would you recommend along with hobbywing 180amp in a xidean Marine Self-Righting DOMINATOR Mono Hull and Hardware - Carbon/Kevlar. I drive mostly speed and sometimes laps of up to 1 min. ALWAYS drives calmly in between to cool the esc and motor

Well, you got your Dominator. See there have been some important changes... Like the support, its needed in hi-speed crashes. Weight distribution is bit different than my v1, curious what difference that makes.
It eats corners like nothing. Maybe even surprises you....
He sells those mono braces separately, I need a set for my deltaforce 35, they definitely make the hull more ridged.
The dominator and its setup reminds me of my deltaforce 35, should handle just as good
@@IRONCLADRC i make braces myself from black cfk g10 plates. There 20x30cm and cost about 7 to 17€ (1mm to 5mm thick)
I can't tell if df handles as good as the dom, i know i can take a sharp(!) turn with ridiculous speeds compared to my other boats. The dom will be interesting content to me. Don't really have a speed setup for it because i mostly bash with it on that small pond. Decided to try 8s comming season, but testing is probably still a few months away and also need a bigger pond for that. So you will probably be further with your setup than i will. I run it probably about 20 times a year or so, and that's how long i took me to set it up the way i liked it. I'm hoping to get an acceptable 6s bash setup (60+mph for the pond + good runtimes) and a 8s speed setup. This year will be the first year to go to 8s on several of my toys, so i am looking forward to it...
@@IRONCLADRC fr4 g10 (epoxy)sheets is how they call those sheets. There also available in black...
I've been meaning to pick up some g10 I hear all good things concerning that material.
@@IRONCLADRC Its a strong material i use as a carbon replacer because its much cheaper, just a bit heavier. Also found a guitar shop who sells red g10 with pre-drilled small holes for pcb use. Also very handy stuff. Use it for my Rc cars and boats for braces, battery plates, chassis stuff and reïnforcing stuff. Most idealy you have a small cnc machine of course, but with a dremel and some patience you can make reasonable parts yourself.

No sure! I got the hull and hardware DOMINATOR not the RTR. I was getting in the mid 50's with my original setup, my pb is 85mph speed run setup

I don't understand though the water cooling pickup on this race hull. These pickups will drag enormously, sticking into the water? It looks neat though 😅
I've had good success with transom mounted pickups, they need to be set properly, on my blackjack 24 I run my pickup up 6-7mm higher than the ride surface it picks up plenty water with little to no drag. Believe it or not. The dominator should be a solid performer, light weight for its size. Can't wait to get her on the water

They'd have some fast boats, very nice. All boats are getting expensive, but I have to say not all boats built are of this high quality. Example. I just bought a 1/8 scale, nothing with it & paid shy of 600. For that price, it should look like the boat you're talking about. But it doesn't. Quality is about 50 percent. The other 50 is just give me your money. It's a shame that some of these builders have no respect for the quality they sell. The boat I bought is a sought-after boat that's hard to beat, BUT THE QUALITY SUCKS FOR THE PRICE. Would be nice if oxidean would make a fifty inch Apache off shore boat. Even if it's not carbon fiber I know the quality & workmanship is there. By far the best quality.
I was at bonzi sports browsing around drooling, there boats are expensive 😫 Gas boats, didn't see one under 1000 bucks. Oxidean has beautiful fast boats check out his prop selection ive found some fast oxidean props.

If you REALLY want to go Balls to the Wall, send me an email and I can hook you up with a 15-Series NeuMotor. You know I run a lot of Steve's motors and I think they are the absolute best available; period; end of discussion. If you're going to go "Big League" with that (stunningly gorgeous) hull, it's about time that you go "Big League" with the drive train too. 3 horsepower will get you in a good zone, but knowing you, a 5 horsepower setup might be more to your liking.
I really liked the solid end on the flex shaft. Good engineering design, good manufacturing. All in all a very well thought out boat.
The dominator has lots of potential like you said the design and thought put into this hull is amazing... Bill asked me to install the dynimite/spektrum electronics, once I get a base line I'm gonna go Big B style.
