Congrats, 85mph is great with that setup! I know all about big crashes while speed running your mono! But the rush of a new record is worth it 😎👍. That cheap lipo probably voltage dipped due to the big amp draw. I didn't expect such a big difference though! ✌ DJ
Basically, 20 mph difference, that's insane if you think about it. SMC, CNHL, ONIX are the top 3 battery brands that I know of.. I've run Cnhl, but the internal resistance goes up little by little throughout the battery life. I didn't even get a full year out of my cnhl 9500 one cell dropped completely out. Never run onix? SMC has been SOLID packs for me low internal resistance, I think it's due to the chemistry and cell matching,..
@@IRONCLADRC ah, I missed that huge CNHL pack in your video's already. Too bad about that. I hope mine will last longer. CNHL often has great deals, making the price to Performance ratio awesome. ✌️
Yes sir, that was another solid run. I feel ya, also got nervous today with my first outing. Tested today my setup on the small pond since there was a fishing club on the big pond. Found it's a bit harder to get up to speed with the big setup but still managed to get 114kph in the small pond, kind off windy to and not full throttle so i'm very pleased...
@@IRONCLADRC 8s... Haven't tried 6s yet. Just wanted to get a feel of it today. Just sanded my pad down, it was about 1' off so it ran bit sideways. Also noticed lipo's were warmest, but there just 60c. Will get some smc's shortly, but for testing these are ok i guess. Im sure i will do at least 125kph when there is more room. This was like you called if i remember correctly "not even a blib" of full throttle. That pond i ran i smaller than the park pond, so like i said, very pleased so far. I'll test shortly what it runs like on 6s.
Keep us posted, l love hearing about the "BOAT GANGS" conquest and speed records. You'll get her dialed in. I got faith! Keep those rooster tails flying
Cheaper packs don't have the capacity/discharge for these high amp draw setups. Depending on kv and prop size at full trigger/load, you're probably dropping the voltage down to 3 v per cell for a split second, basically destroying the cells. It's more than likely a better way to phase the above statement, but you get the idea.
I believe the SAW world record is over 300 KM (205 mph). Set by JAG team in 2018. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. There's several TH-cam videos of the world record run in Munich Germany. I'm thinking this is a speed that's unattainable for even the most astute RC boat racer. You've eclipsed 100 mph which is an accomplishment - specially with a Blackjack 42. Chasing 200 might be a stretch, but I'll be the first to cheer for you :)
I agree, I'll probably never obtain a world record, but I'm gonna give it a shot, electronics batteries have gotten so much better since 2018, all I need to do is build a boat specifically for a SAW Passes. I've been working on the plans for almost 6 months now. I need more time on the water with a rigger before I dump thousands of dollars in the build. Mark my words, I will build a record setting boat before I die.
That video must be the clearest video ive seen on the river run. The crash made me cring. 😖 Auch 😲. Brill rips for that size water rocket man. 85beans wowwwwh. Sunny side up Mr B.
Oh man that's a good question, because i thought about getting that motor opposed to the 2080kv. I think the 2610 may be to much, I can barely keep her on the water with the 2080 cm. Temps would probably bo okay with the higher kv cm motor light setup.
Congrats on the 84/85 I think you could have started further away and possibly hit ninety it seamed to be a short time at full revs. Also with those temps try a 1.9 pitch same diameter if you have one. I understand the nerves when big money and a favourite set up are involved the reality is it could disappear in a split second. Man it’s heart pumping stuff. Even watching it’s nervous stuff
Thanks. Wish I could of gotten longer runs. Unfortunately, the tide was opposite of the direction I was running, especially in the main part of the river, current was ripping out there. Hopefully all the stars aline for my next outing
@@IRONCLADRC The fastest rigger record was done around 6 years ago, by the Germans. @ 206mph average for 2 runs through official speed traps. Using custom made Lehner LMT motor, self made esc with max 1000a burst, custom self made 3 blade prop on 8s
I've always dropped them in a heavy saltwater bath. Let them soak until you see electrolysis or voltage is completely drained. Then throw them in the trash once the voltage is drained, there no longer volatile
Congrats on the new pb! The day isn't complete without a Big B vid 😊.
Thanks

Peace n love with rooster tails and no smoke.
Great runs. Congratulations That's some serious speed

nice job BigB congratzz on the new pb! yeahhhh 😎
AND NO FREAKING SMOKE C'MON
@@IRONCLADRC yes sir buddy! Hahah
Big B and knots are not the same. 85mph = 73.86 knots. I still love your videos. Keep up the good work.👍
I puffed 3 sets of lipos back to back at the pond. I always bought the cheaper batteries. What a difference in speed

Yea makes sense. They had like 3 seasons on boating.

Never thought I could get past 100mph with a BIG B prepared prop lol. anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Thank you. I got lucky, 81mph crash and she landed right side up, lucky!
Hi with 6s lipo, wouldn't the boat run better with TP 4060-CM 2610KV (6S)?

Awefull good looking prop you have. So so good !
Thank you 😊
A puffed battery to me is invisible smok😢
That's a sweet hull, Big B!👍🤙
Ticking time bomb 💣

I know knots and mph ain't the same, "50, 60, 85, 106 knots and no smoke! c'mon!" that's kinda my "tag line" lol. Just having some fun!
James Mcoy hit an incedible 222mph about a week ago with his rc car, balls to the wall lol.
That's completely bonkers, one of these days I. Gonna build a world record boat I've been working on the plans for about a year now.

Big thanks
Anyone know how to properly dispose of your old lipos?

75 inch boat with 3 Hydras and some big tp motors
Sounds fast!
@@IRONCLADRC yeah it does sound fast and I think ur the guy to make it go 200 if u build it
Happy 4th of july 😎💯✌
I would blame the blurry camera on climate change.
It works for everything else.
Camp Lejune?...
Yep north east creak
@@IRONCLADRC awesome thought it looked familiar. What size prop should go on a 32" v-hull with a 1300kv motor on 4s?
Hmmmm. Maybe an octura 642 or ABC 1716?
That big pack has more watts per hour thats y its has more top end with that big power system u runing
Your right, but I think that light weight v3, will smoke the big pack once I get everything dialed in.
LOL yeah 85mph n no smoke is awesome, but 85 knots n no smoke would be 98mph n would be even awesomer ! 😂
how much different were the props between the two battery runs? Or that snippet at the end was just showing the prop you ran all day?
Yea, I didn't get a chance to run the new prop
