This game used to be at Jazzland (before Six Flags bought it). I miss this so much. Wish somebody would buy the park (since Six Flags somehow got out of their lease that would last for many years) & have a kickass arcade in it

In the japanese version, Soulstealer is called Kuro Homura (黒焔), meaning "black flame", and similar to the US version, it is a sword possessed by a malevolent spirit, meanwhile, Lightbringer is called Mazan (魔斬), meaning "magic sword", it is a holy sword which dispels evil and is passed down from generations to generations to those who have a pure heart. in the story, which is largely unexplained in the US version, thousands of years ago, the kuro homura came into possession of a legendary blacksmith named Genbusai (aka Sorcerer, the final boss of this game), the evil sword corrupted Genbusai and manipulated him into making demonic swords such as itself (as you can see in 0:28) and release them throughout the world. The people who managed to found these swords will be possessed and will slowly turn into a demon, this explains the swords that came out from the first two bosses after they were defeated (in 10:47 & 18:49), meaning that the bosses were formerly HUMANS who have been transformed and had their humanity taken by their swords. in addition to this, in the US version of the game, when the boss fight starts, the boss's name is displayed before the fight, while in the japanese version, the displayed name is the name of the sword that corrupted the bosses. The main character (the white samurai), who is unnamed in the US version, is called Genma Tachibana, he is the current wielder of Mazan and is the son of a famous demon slayer who have previously destroyed some Genbusai's evil swords, and now sets out to destroy Kuro Homura and restore peace
I used to be top 1 , 2 and 3 at my local arcade (there was at least one rival and I ended up overwritting his name)and I would draw the TEN symbol as my name. i dont know how but i think i could finish the game with like 2 credits, maybe ? Just use counters a lot. Also i cant forget that line XD : I SEE YOU WEILD LIGHTBRINGER...THE CURSE TO OUR KIND !! XD
Great is suppose to be an exclusive for Playstation move for the Playstation 3 for this classic arcade game. But the sad thing is the Playstation move games are already gone on the market :-(

In this game, the Japanese version had Japanese voiceovers. Both versions most likely used the same voice actors because they sound the same so it was probably difficult getting the original VAs to do English voice acting. After seeing a playthrough of the Japanese version, I prefer the Japanese voiceovers.
