Sound effects, presentation, level design, bosses, music, secrets. I still think this is my favorite lightgun shooter. It might not have the gore of House of the Dead or amazing animations of Time Crisis, but this game has the best atmosphere and enemy designs.
i didnt know this game got 10 stages!!! It will be absolutely rewarding if you can play the game that far with one credit, i used to saw this game in arcade, but nobody make it through stage 2... one of the best light gun shooting despite on 10 stages, and all the theme and different enemies and level design.

Well, the original arcade version was on the Naomi, which is basically a Dreamcast stuffed in a cabinet. They aren't PS1 graphics, but given the hardware they were made for it's understandable.

I agree with you on the difficulty. Even on the easy difficulty, as well as the use of akimbo-style shooting (two guns at the same time), i can't beat the game. but one day, i shall beat Ninja Assault.

Is it me, or does this game use the same sound effects and chimes that Mazan: Flash of the blade uses? Listen to the stage menu and result menu and you'll see what I mean.
If they would remastered this game with nicer and smoother graphics, also better gameplay as more realistic damage to the characters and put in more efforts to the game, it would definitely be a good one to play, but like that is not too great to enjoy, as for me speaking.

近場のゲーセンに未だにホーンテッドミュージアム、HOD4、レッツゴージャングルとかと一緒に置いてありますな、チビ忍者が独特すぎて印象に残っています
このゲーム、最初から海外向け（題材が忍者、戦国の世なのでわかりますね）で海外プレイヤー用に難しくなっているので日本ではヒットしませんでした。
日本ではこれよりも馴染みやすかった同社のタイムクライシスがヒットしたことと、奇しくも同時期にエコールから「デスクリムゾンOX」、セガからも「コンフィデンシャルミッション」が出て食い潰しあったこともあって、続編はありません（後に剣で斬るものはでましたが、似ているのは時代背景だけで全く異なります）。
このゲームはこのプレイのように撃ちもらさずにヒットしていくと5ヒット毎に点数がどんどん加算される仕様ですが、敵が固めで元が難しいのでそこまで極めた人はこの動画のプレイヤーなど少ないようです。
そもそも忍者が銃使うという点で違和感があると思うのだが。

史実では忍者は銃を含む火薬を用いていたらしいですね。(ちなみに、杉谷善住坊という忍者が火縄銃で織田信長を狙撃して暗殺を試みたらしいですね)
でも、だからといって時代が明らかに違うセミオートマチック式のハンドガンは...ねぇ。
