My 2018 S4 has 6k miles on it and did an oil change with 0w20 not long ago, I immediately noticed the engine being louder and started researching this oil... I regret fully using 0w20 emission oil, I am shopping right now for 5w40 Motul Sport, seems to be the best choice and with zero oil consumption between changes.

Been following you guys ever since the RS5 video. As a B9 S4 owner I've also looked into the into the issue. There are over 100 b9 s4s in NZ (114 registered), and I've seen only one report about the rocker arm failure. I don't think it's scare mongering what you're doing, this is very informative and every owner should be aware of it. That said, there's small reason to be worried about the rocker arm as it's affecting only a small percentage. Awesome work as always guys and keep the B9 vids coming!

Nice work...and very sound! Heat kills parts so when the water cooled air charger fails...heat overcomes. My advice would be to delete water cooled air charger for upgraded air to air. They have worked fine for a long time. VAG probably did that because of spacial issues but, a well engineered unit should exceed the stock water cooled unit.

why the engine does not work well when you open de oil cap? I don't understand because oil compartment is independent of the compression chambers. I don't unerstand it, in my S5 also happens

This car is a no brainer. It is so cheap and easy to get warranty for it, so no fear of engine exploding. 700pounds per year up to 6 years of age and 100k miles. And that includes bushes and CV joints. I'm seriously thinking to upgrade from my 2.0tdi a5 to s5

Hi guys, I got an A4 B7 3.2fsi Quattro and for 2 years now I am driving with a RED warning on high RPM saying "Low Oil Pressure", someone told me this should be the oil sensor, could that be the real problem? - the car drives as new, just increased consumption. The "error" goes away when going back on "cruise" mode and nothing changes even if I drive it at 6000rpm for a longer run.

Have you guys heard of earlier dates than the 7/19 you talked about having fixed rocker arms? I've heard of some on early 19 or even late late 18
Also would you guys suggest 0w30? You suggested 5w30 and 5w40. I heard cold start needs lots of lubrication for these motors. Is the 5w increase important here?

@@LukeEdward To lift the top of the cylinder heads off it looks like they had to remove the casing over the cam adjusters which sit back near the heat shield in the engine bay. I doubt that's something you can access to while it's in the car but there's a comment below saying Audi can do it... If you have this car and you're wanting to do this work, then you might as well do the carbon clean (valves) etc anyway which is definitely not possible with an engine in.

  • @user-wf4ih5wo5x

I was thinking why if switching from 0w 20 to 5w 30 or 40? Those engines are to be modern components which the engines basically tighter than most engines, to circulate and prevent heat properly. Those engines should have a better design for not falling apart for those rocker arms. Never have a better improper for modern engines.
