My top 3 3. Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It has super fun and clever puzzles. Haven't played it in a while that's why I don't have much to say about it, just remember it being super fun. 2. Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I've spent almost 1000 hours on the game. It's so fun. There is so much to do, with customizing your house, filling up your bug/fish/underwater creatures encyclopedia, interacting with villagers, going to the Island and meeting other players, customizing your town and grinding for nice looking gold badges. It's not for everyone but I certainly love it. I highly advise you give it a try if you haven't already. 1. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This game has something I'm pretty sure no other 3ds game has to offer. (except for other monster hunter games on the 3ds I played Generations demo and it sucked so im sure it isn't better than 4U) The combat system is amazing. There are 14 different, unique weapons to kill monsters with. Each weapon has it's own unique move set for you to master. Killing monsters is fun because if you watch the way it moves the fight becomes like a dance. You and the monster trade blows back and forth. If you fight the same monster enough times you memorize how it moves and you kill it easily and efficiently no matter how little defense you have Once you kill a monster with your weapon, if you have enough of that monster's parts, you can make some cool armor. There is so much content in this game I've played 100+ hours on one account and I feel like im just starting to get good. So many monsters to overcome, so many different weapons to master, and so many hours im going to lose to this 10$ 3ds game i got at gamestop. It's a game that takes skill, real skill and concentration. So if you get frustrated easily this isn't the game for you. Glad my 3 favorites made the list lol Let me know your favorites.
I still play on my 3DS to this day, it has been a long and happy era filled with so many good things and memories. Games that I recommend that are not in this list are. Kid Icarus Pocket Card Jockey The Dillon Series Tank Trooper (only if you have a lot of family or friends that have a 3DS) Codename: S.T.E.A.M.
To absolutely anyone who hasn't already check out donkey kong country returns it Is a port of the wii game with the same name but now on handheld and with even more content than the original. I know that the 3ds has so many 2d platforms already but dkcr trumps them all with its stunning scenery, beautiful level design, and fun and engaging mechanics. It is in my opinion a must have for any 3ds owner
That game destroyed both of my 3DS sticks, I’d strongly recommend changing the control scheme to the D-pad unless you want to find yourself without an easily replaceable part of the 3DS.
I've been collecting for 3ds since the beginning. I have all of the games on this list and a lot of gems that have gone up in price. It's funny to see people scrambling to collect for 3ds now that Nintendo is going to close the eShop. Good luck, people lol

I'm glad awakening is on the list, it is the best and more focused modern fire emblem, every single fire emblem after it, even 3 houses isn't as great as awakening.
The Ultra Pokémon games are underrated af. It didn't help that they were standalone expansions in a time when people were complaining about such practice, and then the initial reception Sun and Moon had. But in hindsight, they were a great homage to the franchise and a proper send off for the 3DS. The only issue with Ultra S&M is how they changed the main story. Other than that, they're the best way to experience gen 7. I hated Moon but decided to get Ultra Moon to see if my experience with Moon was the bad taste from playing an original version for the first time (besides gen 5), and yeah... I think I'll stick to expanded versions whenever possible.
I can sleep well at night knowing my games and hundreds of hours saves of those games are nicely backup and ready to be reinstall if anything happens to my 3ds thanks to the 3ds modding community 🙏

ocarina remake will always be my fav. And Mario kart
Zelda A Link Between Worlds is such a fantastic games - I couldn't help explore every nook and cranny, and one of the rare games I played entirely in 3D
I had to buy a special grip for my 3ds recently think my hands got too used to the joy cons.. but just finished ocarina of time just took me back to 98, happy to see samus returns getting some love on this list.
the i stopped playing the 3ds when i was 14 then 3 years ago when i was 17 i got back into it even upgraded to a new one and witch was bigger then my original and my hands were still way to big i could only play for 20 min before my hand got a cramp a grip helped a ton
Link Between Worlds is my second favorite game behind Link to the past. The game is pretty much flawless. It's classic top down Zelda perfected.
The 3DS had so many great games that it's genuinely hard to choose.
My top 3
Culdcept Revolt, Yokaiwatch 2 Psychic specters, Kirby planet Robobot, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and Fantasy life are some of my personal top picks.
I still play on my 3DS to this day, it has been a long and happy era filled with so many good things and memories.
Games that I recommend that are not in this list are.
Kid Icarus
Pocket Card Jockey
The Dillon Series
Tank Trooper (only if you have a lot of family or friends that have a 3DS)
Codename: S.T.E.A.M.
Shin Megami Tensei IV should be on the list.
Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology
100%
A Link Between World is underrated. It has the best and most fun puzzles of any Zelda game.
you crazy
@@TheJavaslo17 I said what I said.
I wanted to love bravely default 1 & 2. I respect them, just couldn’t stick with either.
Who could’ve guessed what number 1 was gonna be? It’s not like it’s been at the top of every best 3DS games.
The only thing about ultra sun and moon, while playing, after 35 hours it still felt like I was being tutorialized.
Completely agree.
coming from Emerald, I have no clue what to do in U moon
Nice Portillo reference, I caught that. Rest in peace.
Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Shadow Wars is my #1 game for the platform and the only game I've kept for it.
Kinda disappointed that smt iv isn't on the list it's one of the best rpgs on a system known for having lots of great rpgs
Mario Kart 7, Super Smash Bros and New Super Mario Bros 2 were my favorite Nintendo 3DS game for my Nintendo 3DS.
Suprised there’s no planet robobot
What? No Smash bros??? Being able to play Smash handheld was incredible. Mario Kart 7 was also way better than last place.
So many fantastic games on this console
3DS Is an amazing handheld. Awesome times carrying around my college era
A link between worlds is by far my favorite 3ds game. amazing!
I've been collecting for 3ds since the beginning. I have all of the games on this list and a lot of gems that have gone up in price. It's funny to see people scrambling to collect for 3ds now that Nintendo is going to close the eShop. Good luck, people lol
I've always preferred to always use the second model of the 3DS family, (Nintendo 3DS XL)
All good games but these are just some big hits. Much more out there for everyone. Just shows you how amazing this little thing is. I still play mines and happy so many people are too❤️
Awesome list. This was fun to watch.
I just replayed Kirby Triple Deluxe and it is so good, it looks good, their is tones of content, the 3DS really has big games
Wish I still had my 3DS. Would love to play the Mario and Luigi games again.
The world ends with you was so much dang fun, absolutely loved the wrist rocking action. They did cover 2 Zelda games but majoras mask should’ve at least had a shout out
Pretty much every top 10 list for the 3ds never include Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D. I think it's one of the best games on that legendary system.
I just bought it on 3ds with the case and manual. Cost me $100.00 I'm so happy cause MGS3 is one of my favorite games all time. Probably top 3.
There should have been AT LEAST one of the 3DS Kirby games in this list. I absolutely loved them.
The fact that the Pokemon ORAS (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) games are not included bothers me. Those games were, and still are perfect in my opinion!
Nostalgia aside , they are better than the originals right? I loved that gen 3 ,I might pick up the remakes
Here are my top 10 Nintendo 3DS games of all time (w/honorable mentions):
10.) Rayman 3D (2011)
9.) Puyo Puyo Tetris (2014)
8.) Pokémon Rumble World (2015)
7.) Animal Crossing: New Leaf (2011)
6.) Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn (2019)
5.) Metroid: Samus Returns (2017)
4.) Puyo Puyo Chronicle (2016)
3.) Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (2017)
2.) Dragon Quest XI (2017)
Honorable Mention(s): Pokémon X and Y (2013), Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary (2011), Blaster Master Zero (2017), and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
1.) Super Mario 3D Land (2011)
Shin Megami Tensei IV, Strange Journey Redux, Soul Hackers, Devil Survivor 1 and 2, Persona Q and Persona Q 2
Rune Factory 4 is a hidden gem and I love playing it on the 3ds.
Such a great console!!
I’d probably add Yo-Kai watch to my list.
Absolutely not. It’s boring repetitive drivel. Especially since the Pokémon games exists.
@@jamesyu5212 he said to his personal list though lmao
@AzureFennec I couldn’t agree more! The voice acting in the game was such a joy. I hope one day gamefreak take example of level 5.
nice video :)
Good list!
Yes more Nintendo 3ds content please
I wish Nintendo's new console is not a switch pro but pro 3ds
I'm not saying to homebrew your 3ds. But it's awesome.
I can sleep well at night knowing my games and hundreds of hours saves of those games are nicely backup and ready to be reinstall if anything happens to my 3ds thanks to the 3ds modding community 🙏
Gotta be honest Kingdom Hearts 3D was what pushed me to get one.
An Underrated game imo
I have not 1, not 2, but 4, 3ds in my house
Some 3DS games would benefit from being ported to the Switch… like the 3D Zelda games on it.
Hands down star fox 64 3D or pilot wings resort. Don’t sleep on pilot wings resort!
Planet Robobot missing, best kirby game ever.
Just recently got back to playing mine and downloaded a lot of games from the eshop before it closes.
My favorite that I’m playing right now
1. Fire emblem warriors
2. Super Monkey ball 3d
3. Bravely Second
4. Ultra sun
5. Sonic Lost world
6. Pokémon Soul silver
7. Pokémon yellow
8. Excave II
9. Link between worlds
10.dream drop distance
playing radiant history perfect right now, so good
Now I got flashbacks from Animal Crossing New Leaf that was a fun game ngl
