I built one of Ben's D105 ovens a few years ago. The design both works beautifully and is easy to construct. I had no issues at all, and I had never attempted brickwork before. Worth every penny.
I've never laid bricks before but I'm hooked after building my D105 and pushing a friend to get one. You really do have just about everything to build the oven. From their support, written instructions and these videos you will get a sense that the company wants you to succeed and they care about your success.
These ovens are beautiful. And worth every penny I'm sure. Unfortunately, I'll never have enough pennies at once to get one. Great video. Very interesting. Thank you.
Thanks a lot,i am a big fans of your company and wish to get more video of you soon,I am planning to buy one of your kit. Big love and respect from Mauritius Island
Hello, I have some questions: 1. Is it possible to use calcium silicon board as a whole? That way the thermal insulation will be better and lighter. I don't know if there is any downside to the lighter weight of the pizza oven? 2. Or whether the refractory bricks of the main body of the pizza oven can be changed to Insulation Fire Bricks (IFB BRICK), so that the heat insulation effect is better, and the weight is at least half lighter, and it is easier to install.
Hi! I'm not quite sure what you mean by the first question, but I can definitely answer the second one. I cannot advise using insualting firebricks for the main body of the dome, for two main reasons; 1. You want the dome of the oven to soak up and retain heat, which it then emits as radiant heat to cook your food. Insulating fire bricks are designed NOT to retain heat, which is one of the reasons they are so light. While this would mean your oven is quite lgiht, it would not perform the way you want it to at all. The internal temperature would go up very quickly when the fire is lit, but the minute it dies down a little, the temperature would drop rapidly. 2. Insualting firebricks are very soft. If you hit the wall of the oven with a tool or some firewood you would damage it straight away. Hope this is helpful!
We sure do! We have a warehouse in Toronto and another in Vancouver that we ship from. You can find all of our Canadian pricing on our Canadian website: www.thefirebrickco.com/ca
Hi there, I am seriously thinking to buy a one of this kit since couple of years but after your Masterchef experience which has helped to convince me about your company , Just got some ideas for you guys how about giving a colour for individuals bricks like type 1, type 2, base ,wall ,etc so people can figure it out easily . thank you for sharing this masterpiece
Hi Tayfun - good suggestions! Firebricks of this type don't come in a range of colours unfortunately - we could have them glazed but that would make them rather expensive! We are looking at getting our next batch numbered on the outside face to make them easier to identify.
Hi Reinhard, there isn't a good option right now - it's something that we are considering setting up but it's going to be a while until we can tackle that particular challenge
Hi Ido! It is, we will be happy to help you get pricing for shipping. The kits are quite large and heavy so the freight price will be considerable, but very much worth it!
Nice kit! How many hrs do you estimate it would take to construct this oven? I’m a carpenter with 40 yrs experience and knowledgeable in all types of construction but have never done masonry work.
What are the floor dimensions of the crate meant for the USA? I want to make sure I have garage floor space for storage until it warms up and I can start my build? (Are P85 and D105 crates the same floor space?)
Hey guys! Love the vids. There was a tutorial series on TH-cam you guys had maybe 6 months ago that was a lot like this but in an outdoor setting, can't seem to find it on your channel though unless I'm just blind? Or do these videos supercede those?
We ship to the USA, and can ship from there to Canada, the only tricky part is the border crossing. We are currently in the process of setting up our own Canadian company to distribute the ovens in Canada, will hopefully be up and running in a few months time!
Great video guys. My wife and I are really keen to purchase 1 and get it delivered to Bendigo Vic. Because there no room for error in the build lol, don't trust myself. Do you have any local trades in the Bendigo area that would be keen to build for me?
Thanks Josh - as it's a DIY kit any good tradie will be able to build this, you're looking for someone with a good eye for detail who takes pride in their work.
@@TheFireBrickCo Not so easy to find such handymen here and if you do, they will charge you anything from $ 65 up per hour. I suggest you export the whole oven fully assembled.
Hi David, we have some oven builders that we can recommend, please see the link below: melbournefirebricks.com.au/flamesmiths If there isn't someone in your area, we suggest speaking to a local landscaper, bricklayer or stonemason and showing them this video so that they can understand the process. You don't have to be an oven building professional to put it together, as it's a DIY kit
I thought you stated that you ship world wide I'm in Scotland UK and I can't find the information on the shipping to United Kingdom Scotland do you not ship to the UK! After all
You would need to speak to a local freight fowarder to get the costs of shipping the oven to your location, it's possible but shipping can be quite expensive as the crate weighs around 1200kg
